Arrgh! I was p!ssed when they did'nt release any DLC content for the Ps3.
Really makes ya feel screwed for not having a xbox, like some sort of punishment for ps3 users! I think that was a pretty unfair move to just make downloadable content for the xbox and ignore ps3 users.Gta IV did the same thing.Microsoft must be bribing them all.

Anyone else get a bug with Ashur in the Pitt?
I've won the Arena and have travelled to Haven to meet with Ashur, but when I get there he's in his office with Krenshaw just standing there, and neither of them will talk to me.
I've tried re-loading, but no difference.
I can just kill him and take the baby, but I wanted to talk to him!

As far as i remember Ashur spends a couple of minutes talking to a guard before he talks to you. If he isn't talking to you after that then it must be a bug.

The DLC is to come to PS3 in new packs, along with two new DLC releases, and be released on disc for PC and XBOX 360.

    Aliens? Hmmm I always figured
The crashed UFO was just an easter egg, not an integral part for the future.

    Hey
I grabbed fallout 3 when it was released and didnt think much of it. Found the start pretty boring and gave up around 6 hours in.

Went back and started it again last week and got through the game in 11.5 hours. Loved the 2nd half of the game. Im not much of a fan of the random small quests but the main story was fun. I realise that I have probably missed about 20 hours of content but very few of the small quests interested me and even at lvl 13 at the end of the game I found it pretty easy.

Was thinking of grabbing the expansions but do they have a decient main story or is it just more small quests?

Try about 40 to 50 hours. My second play through is so far about 50 hours and I've not gone near the main quest really. There is tons of vaults/caves/facilities to clear out.

Lads i just finished it... And it was pure stupid ending....

So i was wondering how does this expansion kicks in? will i need start all ocver again, or it some how changes last save or something? not much expansion can be after such crapy ending...

Btw when i finished game, how will the ather 2 expansions kick in? can anyone explain me this one lads?

Btw, as a fan boy ( not proud of it ) of fallout 2, i can say fallout 3 was decent enought... but not even near the fallout 2. (content wise).

The game autosaves it's last save game before you enter the purifier chamber. Just download all the expansions, and then load up that last save game. The ending of the game is then altered so that you wake up 2 weeks later, and you're free to roam the wastelands and complete the three expansions. Its all pretty seemless.

Yes. Microsoft are paying money to get exclusive DLC.

    Pfft. Yeah right!!!!

    [/Saracasm]

They'll make the DLC as a disk based add on for the PS3. Microsoft have the rights to the DLC only, not the content of the DLC.

I'd say it's more of a timed exclusive thing tbh.

The GoTY edition will be out in July I reckon. Trade in your copy now when you're finished it and put the money away and buy the GoTY edition in a few months - it'll prob work out cheaper than buying the DLC independantly.

The DLC has already been confirmed for the PS3, as well as DLC 4 and 5 (Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta):

The GOTY editions are coming in October.

I just started playing Fallout 3 over the weekend and I think it is great. I was wary of buying it before now as I've never been a huge RPG fan. The only other game of its type that I've liked has been Mass Effect. Now I'm sorry that I waited so long.

I haven't been doing the main quest yet, just exploring and doing side quests. I just got my ass kicked by a group of giant ants as soon as I entered the town of Grayditch.

Good place to start is to do the Wasteland Survival Guide quest. Moira in Megaton gives it to you. It'll get you leveled up the first couple of levels and force you to explore a bit.

Yeah I have completed the first chapter for Moria (
find food & medicine, get irradiated and go to the minefield
) and am now working on the second chapter, which involves
    killing 7 molerats
    .

I just got distracted by Grayditch but I'm not going back there till I level up some more.

Just make sure that you always do the optional bits of her quests because
at the end when she gives you a copy of the handbook you will get certain perks and boosts to your skills. The more 'research' you do the better the book will be and so the bigger the boost.

Also try to answer all her questions with the [science] or [medicine] as this will boost it also.

In a way, I'm glad the DLC isn't here for PS3 right now. I get to play other games for a while. I still am looking forward a lot to continuing the story.

The one thing that is really annoying me so far in the game is the lock-picking mini game. I have tried several now, all marked as very-easy and I haven't been successful once.

My understanding it to move the bobby pin with the left stick and then test it with the screwdriver on the right stick. If it vibrates then the bobby pin is in the wrong position. I then alter the position of the bobby pin and test again.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 18,115 ✭✭✭✭ShiverinEskimo

Yea just move the bobby pin left or right and push the screw driver. It goes further around the closer you are to the 'sweet spot'. Generally I've found the easier the lock the closer the sweet spot is to the starting position.

where can you find a shotgun or better weapons than a handgun?I've tryed the shop in megaton but she does'nt seem to be selling any weapons other than baseball bats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,091 ✭✭✭Antar Bolaeisk

Don't worry, you'll find plenty of weapons further down the line but be prepared to run from just about everything in the mean time.

It's funny, I've put about 25 hours into this game so far reaching level 14 or 15 and I don't think I've ever bought a shotgun. I just get them off NPCs when I kill them.

There is a shop in Rivet city that sells a lot of guns (but you may not have found that place yet). Also watch out for the random merchants in the wasteland. They usually have more than they look like they would.

As I said, I just get them off people I kill and then fix them in the shop in Megaton.

haha been doing plenty of that, trying to conserve ammo.

Right, so i'm playing through the game again, with the expansions installed. I havent really started the main quest yet (only up to Megaton) and i've been doing some exploring. I came across
Vault 112, where you later meet your dad asleep in the simulator thing.

Now i've read that you can accidently skip the main quest ahead by going to certain area's before your supposed to, and I quickly realised that this was that area after talking to the robot at the start, and left. Is this going to jump the main quest way ahead when i go back to it?

Bummer dude - you may have triggered the later part of the quest and you are not far from the end when you get that far.

What does your main quest objective say in your Pipboy?
