"Don't treat me like a woman..."

    08.jpg

I had to double-check to make sure this person was available. I give to you one of the most dominant women in wrestling history, the first and only woman to win the Intercontinetal Title, the first woman to participate in the Royal Rumble and a former Women's Champion...Chyna!

Chyna, one of the most over females the industry has seen, will fit in very well with the style of my roster and considering I also have Beth Phoenix on my show it doesn't take a genius to work out what my plans are. It's a dream women's feud: The Ninth Wonder of the World vs The Glamazon. I think therefore Chyna is a great asset to my roster.

    MNG roster:

    Round 1 pick: The Rock
Round 2 pick: Jake 'The Snake' Roberts
Round 3 pick: The Big Show
Round 4 pick: Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix
    Round 5 pick: Shane McMahon
    Round 6 pick: Muhammad Hassan
Round 7 pick: Hurricane & Rosey
Round 8 pick: The Holly Cousins
    Round 9 pick: Mr. T
Round 10 pick: Bam Bam Bigelow
    Round 11 pick: Chyna

My eleventh pick is such a natural fit for Lou Thez that I had to overlook Booker T. A former NWA and IWGP champion and a former student of Thez, he was given the honour of Lou coming out of retirement for him at O.A.P. age. but neither were at their prime. A good performer in the ring and a phenomenal heel, he is the perfect man to recreate the Zbysko vs. Sammartino feud with the added heat because he's japanese and working in America. He had a stint in WCW as the Great Muta's tag partner and has also partnered with Kurt Angle .Also gives me the option of creating an NWO Japan vs. NWO feud as he was an integral member

For my 11th pick I was going to take the obvious route of Matt Hardy, an established name in WWE. However, looking at my roster, I can see no way of how I could fit him in. With all that in mind, I have chosen yet another tag team, a team who may not have done too well in WWE, but previously in various other promotions they tore it up in singles competition. Lady and Gentlemen, I give you

My Round 11 Pick is the team of

    Kensuke Sasaki and Hiroshi Hase

I’ve had my eye out for a tough, hard hitting but athletic tag team for several rounds now and I’m happy that I’ve made the perfect choice.

    Kensuke Sasaki

    kensuke.jpg

Sasaki has a legitimate claim to being the most highly decorated wrestler in Japanese history. I’m delighted to be able to choose a guy at this late stage who is so highly thought of to have been bestowed the honour of being the first man to hold the heavyweight Title of the three major promotions in Japan, All Japan, New Japn and Pro Wrestling NOAH. This guy is a Main Event calibre talent whos list of achievements can be matched by very few.

The great thing about Sasaki is that he more than anyone else in Japan is ideally suited to working before an American audience that will already be highly familar with him and them to him. Unlike many imports he will know how to relate to and get over with a western audience. He worked on and off for WCW for over five years and holds pinfall victories over many top stars, including Sting, Flair, the Fabulous Freebirds and the Horsemen and has held the US Title. He also worked as the third Road Warrior, “Power Warrior” in Japan and tagged with Hawk and Animal on several occasions. This history will be essential in playing into the feud I am planning for him. His singles match with Kenta Kobashi at the Tokyo Dome is the stuff of absolute legend as is probably widely recognised as Kobashi’s last great singles match.

    kensuki-sasake.php

Sasaki can also claim to be a legitimately tough guy. He participated in MMA for a few years and has an unbeaten record in the sport. Hi sshps are some of the hardest I’ve veer seen. Make no mistake about it, Sasaki will kick your ass, hard!

    Sasaki Vs Kobashi. Chops galore!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHbbWR6GRD4&feature=PlayList&p=60F87D26A39CF9CA&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=43

    Sasaki Vs Sting
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_dKLqDkMWo&feature=PlayList&p=A19A5F3956796FD1&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=49

    Hiroshi Hase

    02.jpg

Hase to me is the most underrated guy in Puroresu. The usual names are bandied about and deservedly so in discussions of great 90’s workers, but for some reason Hase is always omitted. To me he’s like the Arn Anderson of his time, a guy you can rely on to have great matches with a massive variety of opponents without stealing the spotlight from the so-called bigger stars. Without guys like Hase, there would be no major stars like Muta or Kobashi. His battle with Muta, indeed is the stuff of legend and features one of the most insane bladejobs ever seen in a wrestling ring.
Indeed Hase is a legitimate mat wrestler, having wrestled for Japan in the 1984 Olympics. The way he transferred this abilty to the Pro Wrestling ring mirrors Kurt Angle 12 years later, except for the fact that Hase was ten times the worker Kurt could ever hope to be.

Another interesting aside that adds to his credibility and will gain mainstream exposure is the fact that Hase is actually a real-life elected member of the Japanese Parliament.

Hase Vs Great Muta, unreal bloodbath:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2yxfSRz-cw

Together as a team, these guys were the perfect combination. On the one hand you have the technical ability of Hase who can tie his opponent up in knots or fly through the air, on the other , the raw power and aggression of Sasaki, who will destroy any opponent with his chops and no-nonsense style. Their match against the Steiners at the Tokyo Dome in 1991 is a match I personbally adore and is exactly the style of match in which they’ll be booked on my card. I have no doubt they would get over with the Western audience on sheer ability alone, but the angle I’ve devised for them suits them down to a tee.

Sasaki/Hase Vs Steiner Brothers, one of my favourite tag matches of all time.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fUk7wCdBPE

So there you have it, Sasaki and Hase, who’ll add credibility, prestige, big match experience, experience of Western wrestling and superior workrate to my roster.

Far too often I have sacrificed my picks for bigger name alternatives in the vain hope that my pick would last til the next round. This time I cannot wait any longer. I'm drafting a tag team that I dare say a good number of people on here are not very aware of.
    The Can Am Express
    01.jpg
    Phil LaFon and Doug Furnas
    * All Japan Pro Wrestling
o World Junior Heavyweight Champion (2 times) - Dan Kroffat
o AJPW All Asia Tag Team Championship (5 times)

    * Extreme Championship Wrestling
o ECW Tag Team Championship (1 time)

    * Universal Wrestling Association
o UWA World Tag Team Championship (2 times)

Furnas and LaFon (then named Dan Kroffat) had a great series of matches with RVD and Sabu in ECW in 1996.

Not brilliant talkers, these guys were great workers. Unfortunately for them they joined WWE in 1996, where the attitude era was just begining, and workrate took second place to a controversial gimmick. Despite all the backstage politicking that went on in WCW these chaps would have shined on the undercard facing off against people like Benoit and Malenko.

To emphasise just how good these guys are I have included their wrestling observer match of the year 1992 match with Kikuchi & Kobashi.

    Sable

    sable5.jpg

The first lady of the attitude era, Sable is one of the most popular women in the history of wrestling. I guess you could call her the original 'diva', as her popularity helped bring back the divas division to the WWE.

She will not be used as a wrestler, as I don't have a woman's division on my roster, but she will be used as a valet to get angles over. There is a real ECW/Attitude era theme to my roster, and valet's as over as Sable can help play a part in their success.

    Roster:
    1. Mick Foley
    2. RVD
    3. The Outlaws

My next pick and one I'm dedlighted to have pulled out of the hat:

    El Hijo del Santo
    and Konnan

Qualify by dint of their tagging in IWR. El Hijo del Santo worked a WWE show in Mexico in 2006 (quoted on herehttp://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profiles/h/hijo-del-santo.php) and also worked the When Worlds Collide PPV that was co-promoted by WCW.

    06.jpg

    06.jpg

In whats fast become a roster packed with legendary names from the world of professional wrrestling, i'm ecstatic to twi of the biggest and popular names in Mexican pro-wrestling history.

As Fozzy has alluded to with Santo, the name Santo is the most famous one in Mexican pro-wrestling. His son El Hijo del Santo is simply an extension of the gimmick. With this signing I'm tapping into the massive Mexican market. No country loves its pro-wrestling more than Mexico. Its treated like a sport over there with dedicated TV channels and newspapers reporting daily on the topic. El Hijo del Santo is one of the greatest draws in Mexican history, probably only second to his father. He is a MASSIVE star. He is as beloved as Hogan or Austin and their equal in Mexico in terms of face recognition. He was had some of the nost legendary feuds in history, especially with his mortal enemy Negro Casas. the mask of Santo that he wears proudly is the most coveted in all of Mexican culture and if it were ever lost in a feud there would literally be riots in the country. The mask has been successfully defended an incredible 30+ times in mask Vs mask or hair vs mask matches. He has history with Eddy Guerrero amongst others on my roster and the variety if matches in which he could be booked is incredible.

Konnan is known as the "Hulk Hogan of lucha libre." He is a huge name in Mexico and has plied his trade with great success all over the world. He has appeared on soap operas, films and hundreds of chat shows in mexico and his charisma is the stuff of legend. he has hedalined some massive drawing feuds in Mexico. Don't be fooled by the overweight guy you saw in TNA, back in the day Konnan could go and in his prime could have awesome matches with just about anyone. He is respected by his peers and it was Konnan who taught Bret Hart the sharpshooter. He is awonderful talker and adda yet another really strong personality to my roster.

    Ricky Marvin & Kotaro Suzuki

    marvinbelts.jpg2662743433760f176719m.jpg

Most famous for tagging in Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, these two held the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles for 10 months in 2007. They both also wrestled on two ROH shows in Japan that year

I've put up a case for Ricky Marvin being the best wrestler in the world in the past. I actually forgot that he was eligible here for a while though. A small wrestler, he started his career in CMLL in Mexico, his home country. He took some bookings in Japan and was told that if he kept doing that then he'd never move up the card in Mexico, and that Japan wouldn't want him either. He stuck to what he wanted though and has been successful in Japan since then

Marvin is just an incredible wrestler. All the other junior heavyweights have their best matches with him. Suzuki isn't the greatest wrestler around (I've chosen him for different reasons) but Marvin covered for him so well when they tagged together. Suzuki has had his best singles matches against Marvin as well. Suzuki's a guy who's liable to go crazy and just start doing big moves in the middle of a match. Marvin reigns in guys like that though, making their offence more meaningful and memorable

Marvin broke his leg in late 2007 and while still really great, I'm not sure if he's reached the heights that he accomplished before that. That's irrelevant here though, as I'm getting the guy who is the perfect opponent for high flyers as well as a tremendous underdog wrestler who never puts a foot wrong, picking up on all the little things to make his matches better

Suzuki occasionally wrestles as Mushiking Terry, a character from a Japanese video and card game. And Terry may just make an appearance on my card :pac:
