a few years ago i was out on the beer with a friend from work

he got hold of my phone, unknown to me, and started texting another colleague of mine, initially flirty texts, but as my colleague responded with equally flirty ones, my friend started sending dirty ones to him

eventually he sent him one saying "i want you to f*** me" etc

my work mate was all on for it, so my friend then texted him my address, and said "call over at 3, i'll be home then"

so, me and my mate get a taxi home, and i was wondering why he was giggling uncontrollably the whole way home.

once i got home, i was pottering around, trying to drink the two pints of water etc

then the bell went and i answered the door (had i been sober, or in bed, i wouldnt have answered it)

it was my colleague standing there, leaning up against wall, all "i've wanted this for ages", wink wink

of course i didnt know what he was on about, and asked him what he was doing at my place at 3am

his eloquent reply was "you told me to come and f*** you"

we figured out what had happened, and the poor guy was absolutely morto!
i considered a pity shag but decided against it and sent him packing

never again will i answer the door at 3am!

You know there's something wrong with the world when someone starts a thread on Boards looking for advice on answering the door.

A lot of posts being a bit mean to OP here! But it's scary getting unexpected late night calls.
I live in A block of flats, and some weirdo used to ring the door bells at all hours. He'd hold the buzzer down for ages, and then start running down the corridoor as soon as he heard me behind the door. Once I spotted him looking through the letter box.
Luckily, he was doing it to all the lone women, so through strength in numbers, we got him evicted pretty quickly.

it turns out that someone was knocking on the door to tell me my lights were on in my car. Had to jump start the car this morning. grrr If only I opened the door. Let that be a lesson to all of you. Open the door to anyone who knocks after hours

Or more likely, they broke into your car and turned the lights on so that they could use this to get you out of the house and murder you/rape you/commit other villainous deeds.

Happed to me once, though it was 8:30am saturday morning. Heard it but didn't bother getting out of bed for fear it was Sky calling around again to sell me their TV services.

Turns out it was fking An Post with a parcel for me. I had to walk up to the sorting office on the Monday to get it :/

The one time they actually attempt to deliver a parcel to my house it's at some unreasonable time on a Saturday morning, wtf.

Happened to me once in my ex's apartment, turned out it was her alcoholic mum calling at 2 am to tell her daughter what a fúck up she was.

I then had to spend the rest of the night comforting the poor girl and convincing her she wasn't a fúck up. Ruined my night's sleep and the whole romantic going to get some vibe.

    Lame.

It's just gone 6 mins to 1 in the morning and the doorbell just rung. I don't have a clue who rung it or why. I also heard knocking before hand. I'm not answering it for obvious reasons.

Has this happened anyone ever before?

have you tried opening the door ??

never know... might be something important ?

Next time go down to the door and ask "Who is it?". If they say room service definitely do NOT open it.

has this ever happened to anyone at this late hour though?

used to live in a house that was one of 4 down a lonely country road ... midnight someone starts hammering on the door. I went to the door and shouted "who is it?"

Some fella claiming he had a delivery from a furniture store that I've never been to. I kept telling him I'd not bought any furniture but he wouldn't go away and was adamant he was at the right address, although he'd no name for the supposed customer. I persisted that I'd never been in that shop, and had not bought any furniture and that he was at the wrong house. He got all stroppy and insisted I open the door.

I said I'll open the door when the Gards get here (I hadn't actually called them) and he went away.

What fecking shop does deliveries at midnight?!?

Should have slipped her one, would have increased the oul self esteem

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test
