I enjoyed it. If you're going to moan about characters being killed off because others have been saved in the past then you'll never be able to enjoy the show. I can't believe people are complaining of a plot hole. What, you didn't expect major characters to be killed off ever again? Dear oh dear. Besides if they had brought Nathan back through Claire's blood then we'd hear bitching about how they rehashed an old storyline. Can't really win can they? Honestly I've complained about this show as much as anybody but to me that was a major improvement in terms of plot development and overall atmosphere. There was actually a coherent story to follow. Huzzah!

People are complaining about the fight scene I notice. Think for a minute, what exactly could they have done? Had Nathan fly around the room dodging blasts? Had Pete...uh...change into another guy and dodge blasts? They made the scene respectable at least.

Also I'm fed up with this fanboy crap about 'Oh Sylar's gone now the show is ruined!' The show became bloody awful long ago. Sylar's character was f*cked up along with plenty of other characters, notably Mohinder. He's no big loss at this stage. He's done pretty much everything. Hunted people, suffered breakdowns, tried to make life hell for certain characters. It's not like they haven't got plenty of mileage out of him and the way it's been handled he will likely pop up again down the line. Unless you're a 15 year-old girl I'm sure you can do without the brooding, unshaven one's ramblings in the near future.

The show has seen far worse episodes than this one and as long as the next volume doesn't involve people being hunted by a company for their abilities then things are looking up.

Since when the hell could sylar fly. After the "fight" with nathan he flew in the window.

He simply absorbed Nathan's (or Peter's at the time) ability - he learned how to absorb abilities without opening up peoples' skulls/killing them back in volume 3 and he did it again with the shape shifter a few episodes back... But most of the time, he just chose to kill people anyway still. When did he get the puppet master's ability? Though he did deliver him to the hunter, alive, so he probably took it then...

Anyway, I still think this was complete BS - the "fight" was utter crap and as usual, nobody is really dead... Yeah, Nathan is dead (which as mentioned makes no sense) but he is still in the show, Sylar can come back whenever (though doubtful that Zachary Quinto would want to), Tracy essentially can't be killed either... FFS, kill off a main character (or 5-6 of them) already!

Volume 5 doesn't look promising either - I'm sure they'll screw it all up about 2 episodes in...

I think what annoyed people with the fight was...we didn't see it!
It was just a cheap money saving stunt, it's blatantly obvious this is true!...if they killed off Claire then and there and have Nathan/Peter all super pissed it would have made for a great setpiece, the money saved on killing Hayden could have PAID for the CGI/production costs...see?

Sylar, it's another pathetic way of NOT killing off a charcter, but killing him...of Quinto leaving but saying...ooh he's not dead, Nathan is but not Sylar. I will GUARANTEE 100% next season they will find a way to 100% write out Sylar and Nathan will come back to life...dear god!

Pasdar must be getting paid much less then Quinto, what pissed people off is....JUST KILL HIM, don't transplant him into someone else, it insults the intelligence of the fans!...might i add, it's cowardly of the producers.

there will still be blood, the other power he obviously used was forcing sylar to shift back into himself, must have been some sort of shockig ability,

peter obsorbes the abilitie(s) of the people he touches, but if he were to touch say hes mom, and obsorbe hers, he would loose all the abilities he got of sylar again, which you know he will, at some point,

Not to be rude, but that's a load of crap. He took one ability: shapeshifting. The evidence is fairly clear.

    1. He was still bloodied and battered (and even limped out of the room).

    2. Claire asked if he could fly after them and he said he couldn't (Sylar seemed to be able to use his telekinesis to levitate so Peter would be able to as well).

    3. Peter clearly said "I bet you didn't think I'd take that one"... Eh....

Also, he didn't force Sylar to change back into himself. Sylar thought he'd taken the President's DNA and tried to shift into his guise but couldn't do it. Confused, he started shifting into lots of different people, trying to find the right one and then ended up as himself just before Peter stabbed him.

And yes, he can pick and choose where he takes his powers from at this stage. He'll have shapeshifting until he feels arsed getting something else.

^ i agree Peter only took on one power, shapeshifting, it also explains why he didn't fly...and Sylar i guees in turn absorbed Peters flying abilities.

Someone explain this, Sylar touches an object and is able to see the whole history of that object....who gave him that power, as i don't remember?

No. It was first implied in Season 1 that Sylar could fly when Parkman shot at him and he fell to the ground, then started getting back up. Big whooshing sound and Parkman looks up towards the sky. Couple episodes ago, Sylar disappeared out of Danko's car and was suddenly on a roof. He's either stolen flight from someone off-camera or, more likely, he's always been able to use telekinesis to levitate.

Someone explain this, Sylar touches an object and is able to see the whole history of that object....who gave him that power, as i don't remember?

3x03 - "One Of Us, One Of Them", Angela brings a woman named Bridget Bailey into Sylar's cell and leaves her there with him. That's where he got it.

    good episode overall..

thought it was a clever ending, a nice way to keep an actor in a job after his character has been killed, and to replace another actor who is going to be off doing other things for the next while..

as stated by a poster above I fully expect the real Sylar to re-emerge in Volume 6 - volume 5 will have Tracy Strauss as the main villain, and there'll probably be tonnes of moments where you think the Nathlar is about to figure it all out, and then won't... Tracy's water powers looked good at the end, and if she get's back frozen too there could be all kinds of awesome stuntness.. I hope so anyway, I want to see full-ice with movement and firing ice-bullets from her fingers and whatnot.. That's what superhero shows are all about.

I can understand the disappointment with the Nathan/Peter v Sylar fight, but, to be honest, I don't think it would have looked great anyway - 2 flyers against a TK lightning beast just doesn't add up to a decent ruckus, in my book, Sylar would have incinerated them both before they got anywhere near them... Thought they could have done it a bit better, had Nathan confront Sylar and Peter fly in from behind to touch him for a power grab.. Either way, they got what they needed from it to advance the plot..

Are we gonna see Parkman get dragged into some more dirty doings now that he's in bed with HRG and Ma Petrelli??

anywho, I enjoyed it and still don't get why half the people who come on here to complain go to the trouble of watching.. either they secretly like it and just choose to moan to appease their inner coolometer, or they're masochists..

I think that Peter will have all of Sylars powers but the next season will be all about him unlocking them blah blah blah.

Is that the end of Hiro and the Scarlet whateverhisnameis (Ando) with them going back to Japan to be heroes there and for Hiro to spend all the money he was left.

But Sylar will be back. I have no doubt and anyway we need a break from him. We have seen a bit too much of him lately.
Will still watch without him. He did not make the show but he was the best character this season and the first season.

he has them all, if he has 2 he has them all

All except flying, which apparently he didn't get, for some reason. Remember he couldn't go after Sylar and Nathan.

I take it that he had to willingly absorb the powers, it would seem to not happen simply by contact.

Hopefully, they were pretty crap all season long.

Heroes would be nothing without Sylar (or more specifically Quinto), and it will be nothing without him next year, or even worse with Pasdar as Sylar.

Anyway, that was pretty godsdamn awful. No showdown, poor finish, poor start to the next chapter, and, the biggest letdown for me, did everyone suddenly forget that Claire's blood could cure Nathan? If it can pull a bullet out of your brain, surely a slit throat is nothing? Crap, crap, crap ending is all I can say.

as i said sylar was more stopping his fall by levitateing, he cant fly, you can only levitate a foot or two,

yes he had to willingly absorb the powers, this is explained a few times, like when he took nathans, they touched a good few times, then when they hugged he siad sorry to nathan and took his power,

weather he has all syalrs abilities is yet to be determined,

cant believe heroes final got more viewers the chuck final, what a joke

if he took all of sylar's powers does that not mean he has 'the hunger' too? Same with nathan/sylar? Guess we'll have to wait to find out... but can't see them rehashing same story lines again

Sylar had Peter's power all along.

By the by, that was AWFUL!! Anyone remember that episode of South Park with Kenny in heaven controlling the EPIC battle between heaven and hell on the PSP, but all you saw was the angel standing at heaven's wall shouting about how epic it was!!

I has to laugh... but no.. seriously, that was awful.

Yep, but I'd imagine that it will become just another one in the long line of plot-holes that are destroying what was a great show. It's pretty much a farce at this stage. Spock did the right thing by bailing out.

I'll be watching next season. It was a pretty good way to wrap things up. Nice twist in the limo. Nathan dying surprised me too.

So instead of seeing the fight, we had to rely on the acting ability of Hayden Panettiere's eye? Why don't you just punch me in the face Tim Kring, it'd be kinder.

    Where's the 0/5 option?

I think Jumping the Shark is too mild a term for this, more like jumping the Megalodon.

Heroes, thou shall hog my bandwidth no more. Out with thee!

Claire:If it takes me a hundred years,I'm gonna kill you
    Sylar:Everyone needs a hobbie

Brillant, zachary will be missed(used to live in galway didn't you know)

So no one thought to bring nathan back by giving him Claire's blood?
