Really didn't want to do this, but here it goes..

Sonia O Sullivan, Roy Keane (greatest and most sucessful Irish soccer player), Christy Ring (greatest hurler), Jack Lynch(greatest politician and dual player), Michael Collins(greatest patriot), most senior all-irelands titles etc etc etc.

No arrogance there, just proving your claim is a load of crap..

Sonia O Sullivan..ran around in circles, who cares? Eamonn Coughlan did it better anyway and didn't look like a Biafran weight watcher while he did

Roy Keane? The greatest? eh, ever hear of George Best? Even Brady was a better player than keane..they both also had some class, but then they werent from cork which would explain that

Jack Lynch..chancer..just another cute cark hoor

Mick Collins..traitorous cark hoor, got what he deserved in the end though

I don't like any Cork people I know. They're usually very loud and bullish but generally thick as shít (the empty vessel theory again). When they come up against a Dub (eg me) the always go on like they have something to prove.

    And the accent? Simply awful.

    Thick????
I got 600 points in my leaving cert, thank you very much.
In my experience, the Dubs are much more disliked than Cork people.

Keane is the most sucessful Irish soccer player ever - 7 premier league medals, 4 FA cup medals, a Champions league medal, and was captain for most of them. Denis Irwin(Cork again) is probably the second most succesful. Brady was a lazy bastard when it came to playing for Ireland.

Eamonn Coughlan is the most poisonous individual ever to grace our tv screens. Sonia is much more humble.

I absolutely hate Cork. Maybe it's because I'm from Kerry and go to college in Cork (but not really because I don't give a **** about GAA and the like). I don't know what it is about it.

+1 I'm from Kerry and work in Cork. I've found that get even more offended by "I've no interest in football, let the best team win on the day" than if I said "ah we'll beat ya hands down in the match". Not everyones life revolves around sports and sad intercounty rivalries, twats

    This argument is stupid.

I'm from Dublin, and I don't like Cork. Of course, I don't like Dublin either.

Dublin people critisising Cork people is like bit of day old vomit critisising some diarrhoea, nobody wins.

Everyone i've ever met from Cork has a huge inferiortity/insecurity complex about not just Dubs but everyone else! This manifests itself by insisting to all and sundry that there's is the best county, the 'rebel' county..yet Cork was the most loyal of all counties in the Empire back in the day..Here it is decked out with union jacks to welcome some British king or other..
    http://www.corkpastandpresent.ie/media/kings_visit.jpg

Also it was the port by which all the crops and supplies left through during our so-called famine.

Rebels? no..and WHAT s with embracing the rugby so wholeheartedly??
buncha wannabe Brits with serious chips and their shoulders and nothing in their trousers to back it up.

    Ahh **** it.
    Bunch of arrogant, deluded bastards.
    Get over yourselves..
Dublin is the capital and the only good thing to ever come out of Cork was a road leading out of it.

I'm sitting here in my nice litle Kildare home and laughing at the arrogance of both the Dubs and the Corkonians and you both look pathetic. The only difference is that Dubs are not deluded about where the capital is.

    You want your PROC?
    Take it.
One less county for the productive counties to support.

Best of luck building an economy based of the fact that the last place the titanic made port was queenstown. That's all you have to offer.
Now get back in your box and accept that you are just one of 26.

By the way, Rathcormack should be nuked.

Wow. Kildare. The lilly livered pussies with the annoying accents that spawned such shítbeasts as Ray Darcy and, well, enough said. Fair play to you for standing up to Dublin and Cork. You should be very proud of yourself. Enjoy sitting in your nice little Kildare home and please, for the sake of the rest of us, stay there and don't even consider a radio or TV job.

Dubs are worse. ****ing iPhones and dinner parties and overpriced conveniences

if they find a parking spot in dublin for less than 10e per hour they have to twitter all their mates or update their facebook status to tell everyone how great it is before driving their ****ty little hybrid automatic nissan micra with a 25cc engine into it.

You'd be amazed at the amount of people that say this. Are we really that bad like? Or is it just jealousy?

I'm not sure it was always as bad as it is now, but since the hurling stike, the Keane Saipan affair, and maybe the Stephen Ireland situation too it has gotten to a stage where everyone seems to hate us.

Are we really a bunch of langers?
Pretty much. Though obviously not quite everyone.

    And I'm from Cork.

Really glad I get the chance to do this:

Sonia O'Sullivan: Very good athlete who loves Cork so much she changed her nationality so she could run somewhere else for someone else.

Roy Keane and Stephen Ireland: Just prove, along with the Cork hurlers, that people from Cork really do think they are better than everyone else. Thinking of Roy Keane in Saipan still makes my blood boil.

Christy Ring: Fantastic hurler. However, there are maybe 6 really strong hurling counties. Come back to me with a football player and we'll talk. Also, Kilkenny are a better hurling county and they don't have the sort of political farces that Cork are renowned for.

Jack Lynch: Compromise candidate who only became Taoiseach because George Colley was afraid of Charlie Haughey. Never did a single thing without consulting his wife. Never did a stitch to help anyone other than his own party. Spent his entire time as Taoiseach in stagnation letting better men than him do the work in his Cabinet and took the glory at the ballot box for himself.

Oh, and the best politician and Taoiseach we ever had was Sean Lemass. Fact.

Michael Collins: I had to laugh at this one to be honest. Even if you accepted Tim Pat Coogan's glorifying biography as the actual truth about Collins he is a figure who benefits from the haze of history more than most. To be fair to the man he never wanted the mantle many people decided to give him but saying he was Ireland's greatest patriot is quite laughable. I think the Emancipator, Parnell or even De Valera all have a claim. Oh, and before you bash DeValera you should remember the most remarkable thing about him. He authored a Constitution for Ireland in 1937, when the rest of Europe was moving towards fascist dictatorships, and he crafted it in a way to ensure Ireland would remain not just a democracy, but a democracy where the truest measure of power would always remain with the people through referendum. Oh, and if you think that is an anti-Cork view or a pro-DeValera one then I would point you to UCC's Head of the History Department Dermot Keogh's book on the Constitution.

So your point is really nothing but nonsense. Thanks for trying though.

i love cork people , i love thier single mindedness , i love thier likable cockiness which is so different to dublin cockiness which is obnoxious , i love the way the say I DO YEAH to most things

ive no time for kerry people , thier so ******* cagey , a kerryman wouldnt let his left hand know what his right hand was doing , you never know where you stand with a kerryman , the opposite is true with cork people

while im not from munster myself , ive had extensive experience with both peoples while abroad

I don't dislike anyone 'cos of where they hail from, but the attitude with which Cork people come at seemingly everyone else is the problem. It's a cultural thing down there perhaps, but it's not even provincial, it's small town small mindedness, and there is no such thing as a media bias toward Dublin, there are simply more people and therefore more news stories in Dublin. The whole lotta them need to get over it.

I know a lot of Cork people like this. I also know a lot of Cork people who are the exact opposite. There are probably a lot of Dubs who are the exact smae as the Cork people you described. Depends on who ya know.

True. There are a lot of incredibly irritating accents. They always seem to find the worst ones for interviews on RTE. Not a big fan of the Dub accent either though. Other than that, I have no problem with the Dubs.
    And I'm from Cork, btw.

Cork is one of the better places to live in Ireland, the city isn't that bad imo and places like West and East Cork are nice, quiet and with a very good standard of living. Very good places to raise a family.

I live in cork and I hate the frickin place! Maybe it's because I'm originally from dublin, who knows.....
One thing i'll say though in defence of cork, its much better than most of the other bally-go-backwards counties in ireland!
laois for example.... *shudders while thinking about rathdowney*
