If cork was heaven, I'd kill myself again just so I can get in the queue for hell the next time around.

You'd be amazed at the amount of people that say this. Are we really that bad like? Or is it just jealousy?

I'm not sure it was always as bad as it is now, but since the hurling stike, the Keane Saipan affair, and maybe the Stephen Ireland situation too it has gotten to a stage where everyone seems to hate us.

Are we really a bunch of langers?
If you really are from Cork, what the hell do you care about what the rest of the country thinks about us? I'm proud to be from Cork and proud of the achievements of my fellow county people. I'm not apologising to anyone for that and I don't give two number twos what anyone else thinks of Cork or Cork people.

TBH it's only really ever Dubs I come across who have a big problem with Cork. Everyone else will give a bit of a slegging but no more I think really than you would for any county according to its fame. I've come across Dubs who'd be fit to rise a row with somebody just because they're from Cork. Maybe though that's just because there's a lot more scumbags in Dublin than elsewheres in the country.

I have known prison officer's who if they get any major hassle or threats from Prisoners in Cork Prison, they will get them transferred to Dublin, just so he can enjoy a good hammering.

Dublin jailbirds don't like Cork Jailbirds at all.

And Vice Versa but it's not really the same.

Cork is no better or worse than anywhere else The whole "Peoples Republic of Cork" thing is just a piss-take. Not to be taken seriously. It is just a reaction to Dubs thinking everyone from beyond the pale is a bog-trotting culchie.

Hang on, you mean they aren't?
My geography teacher told me there were two counties in the Republic. Dublin and The Stix!

    Hrmm.... *scratches head*

They like V. I. Lenin and the Cuban dude. They like murderers.
It's like the Limerick of the South.

    It is.
Prove me wrong without referring to the GAA or Soccer.
Or Michael Collins being murdered by people from his own county.

    Do you understand percentages?
    100,000 people in Cork.
    1,500,000 in Dublin.

There are more intelligent people, more artistic (covering all arts) people, more obese, more anorexic, more potato eaters, more smokers, more halfwits, more Cork people, more everything because Dublin has a bigger population.

There must be more uneducated people in Cork because some of them do not understand percentages.

There are about 100 times as many murders in the U.S. every year compared to Ireland.
It's not because they have a population or about 100 times our own. It's because there are more scumbags in America. FACT.

lol if ya read what's in bold one more time the right way you'll see I'm actually making your point and had assumed everybody knows the hugeness of Dublin on account of it being our biggest town.

A twat is a twat no matter what part of the world they're from. As a Cork man myself (county, not city) I don't think Cork people are any better or worse than people from any other county. The whole PROC thing is a piss-take, I don't know anyone who takes it seriously.

I will say though that Cork scumbags tend to be less threatening/subhuman than Dublin or Limerick scumbags.

    Empty vessels and all that.

It's the fault of the far reaching Dublin media bias conspriacy!

It's like the far reaching left wing conspriacy in America, but about far more important things.

Here in the 'neutral' West we hate Dublin far more than Cork, although Sky's customer service is quite uninteligable thanks to it's choice of Cork as it's hub.

Cork will never be able to exceed Dublin's position, whose place is now took for granted so much that the second most prolific county is taking the brunt of the flak.

Have to say I quite like Cork city - it's more attractive than Dublin. That said, I'm not surprised that lots of people hate the place. It's like Dublin with a country village parochial mentality.

Is there the equivalent of D4 in Cork city? C4 maybe? Probably not. I can't imagine a posh Cork person.

From my experience Cork people take the whole protectionism thing too far. I've dealt with companies who will engage the services of a Cork tradesman at a greater cost than someone outside the county, just so as to keep it local. In times such as these it's laughable practice.

I don't like any Cork people I know. They're usually very loud and bullish but generally thick as shít (the empty vessel theory again). When they come up against a Dub (eg me) the always go on like they have something to prove.

    And the accent? Simply awful.

I hate all this arrogance. I'd like to see ye all up your own arses when you have to live in Sligo or another dead county

I just don't like Cork because when I was staying in Blarney I got food poisoning along with my whole friends family who all spent about 4 days in hospital after it!

Also the whole PROC, Voice situtation.

Although I am from Dublin, so I'm programmed to believe Cork are Dublin wannabes and that the minute you cross the county border out of Dublin, it's like stepping back in time to the potato famine era

Cork people are spot on. Big city folk, but not ignorant.

Cork bouncers on the other hand! Now there enlies a challenge.

    "Where are you from, beahyy?"
