I won a bottle of whisky last night.

Sister won six hundred quid worth of Merchant's Quay shopping vouchers.

Have a handy source of half RRP electronics items for Christmas (and myself).

I have a reduced rate LTV tracker mortgage thingy on this place, major reductions in the last six months.

Diesel and petrol are getting cheaper, as is nearly everything else.

    Sweet.

    From RTE
A Co Wexford girl, who was told by doctors that she would never walk again following a severe illness four years ago, walked into the arrivals hall at Dublin Airport this morning following six months of treatment in New York.
    Bless.

Last night I wrapped all my presents, which I have bought since last week. Got locked.

Awoke without a hangover with a kiss from my lovely bf.

3 days left in work till the concert of the year and a lovely relaxed well organised christmas.

Oh and I won a fiver in the lotto!

Checked the receipt from the restaurant after dinner last night and noticed they'd only charged us for 2 beers instead of 3.

Then went to a gig and had some free beers.

In conclusion: Free beers = good.

Oh, new positive thing happened yesterday. New "Big Shopping Centre" opened in Drogheda the other day. Bought a duck advertised for €6.99, was charged €9.99, brought it back for my 3 quid refund and got a whole tenner back!

Apparantly their system isn't yet up to understanding the refund dealio, so lots of people getting free stuff at the weekend :)

Nice thing, was buying stuff in Dunnes, had no plastic bag, so asked the guy if they had paper bags at the til.

He searched, shook his head and give one of those super strong plastic bags (not the clear ones) for free.

    Super nice boy!

Ok lets go!!!!!!! New Year! New beginning!! New attitude!!!!!!

Good on you! I say we welcome in 2009 with some positivity and reverence.

    What's good?

I got a new job, where I work from home.
Everything is getting cheaper, real market competition will thrive.
The end of Rip off Ireland is in sight.
With Celtic tiger dead and gone maybe we can all get back to reality.
Fianna Fáil will be out of government this year.
    House prices will fall.
    Things can only get better.
97 pence buys you a Euro.

All those people who got made redundant are now just another type of rich.

Previously they were cash rich and time poor.
Now they're time rich and cash poor.

The Lord just keeps on giving !

Positively Positive Thread (No Doom No Gloom)

With all of the Doom and Gloom in the air. I thought I would start a discussion on all the good things that are happening.
The Idea is you post something good that happened to you recently or even some story a friend has told you e.g you dropped your wallet and some one saw it happen and gave it back to you.
One story I have is a friend of mine was going away at the weekend at the last minute discovered his passport was up. A very nice girl from the passport office got it renewed last thing on Friday and met him at Clearys at 8pm on Friday night with a new one.

Loads of good things happen every day so lets hear them!!!

I will leave up to you imagination but don't forget the rule!!! NO Doom Or Gloom.

I started this at the beginning of the year. Its all Doom!!!!!!!!
