I have never seen so much wrong in one post outside of the games forums.

How so? I think my plan would quickly sort the lazy and scroungers from the real workers - no? I really think it would pretty damn fast. Homelessness is not funny - threaten civil servants or a good part of the population with it and watch productivity soar and - bingo - celtic tiger x 10.

It is pure logic - be ruthless - get results. No one wants to be homeless and not have an income. This reality should be made clear to the almost 400,000 on the dole. Ditch them after 6 months - dead weight. The option should be get the fcuk out, get a job, or be on the street like in the US. Failure brings no prisoners. They should have the full reality of failure. It will save the country so much money. There will be no more strikes. Sorted.

The Debate on Tubs / Ryan/ Kenny has been covered in previous Radio forums.

Absolutely NO justification for the obscene wedge these guys are getting.

Don't blame them though - blame the spineless RTE Management - who are accountable to no one and agree to pay these over inflated salaries just for a quiet life.

Where would these guys go..answer nowhere.....Ryan and Kenny are in late middle age..Tubridy's brand would not fly anywhere outside of Ireland..although in fairness he is a good competent presenter.

Just like the fat cat bankers nobody in Government has the balls to shout STOP !

If only we could persuade the freekers who would be the bosses in this scenario to resist the temptation to screw everybody right left an center, take advantage of dubious tax breaks and award themselves and their cronys ludicrous bonuses an pension deals while driving their businesses into the ground..

How would they get the GOVERNMENT on side for that kind stuff though....would be very difficult.

Mmmm.....maybe a few ould donations to party funds...a bit of a dig out if a lad was in difficulty...cash money like...how would you make contact though ? ..after all it's not as if these guys set up a tent at race meetings or the like.

    Nah ! would never work.....

    No.
All it does is punish anyone who is poor to begin with and open them to exploitation. I assume when you were shitting out this great manifesto, you assumed you're one of the hard workers and the downside of your ill concieved ideas would never affect you. If you idolise the US system so much you should probably look a little deeper into it before claiming it's the saviour of irelands problems. The poverty in some sections of the states is as bad as any third world country.

(Thats before we the fact that this system you have such a hard-on for doesn't seem to have done anything to shield them from the same recession that's affecting everyone)

Your grasp of economics is laughable. No matter how 'productive' you think you can make people by threathening them (more of a chinese tactic than the US) it doesn't matter if there is no market for what they're making/providing

Yes, the recession has not been caused laziness, likewise forcing people to conform to your idea of "productivity" won't fix it.

The US can be admired for many reasons, but not the ones you've latched on.

Of course there is no chance that you'd experience the full reality of failure, would you? The arrogance is astounding, i hope for your sake this never, ever comes to fruition, because i'd hate to see you homeless in the street.

Vincient Brown made the interesting remarks a few nights back asking WHY are these "stars" paid so much? He asked - is the bbc going to snatch them!? The answer is no. So WHY are these people paid so much!? It is not only them - look at Joe Duffy and some of the other presenters like Dobbo and "Miriam"(the one with 14 kids or whatever and presents Slimetime). Pat Kenny comes across as a talentless android on the Late Late. He reminds me of that guy from that film "the field" (just like the travellers in the caravans out in Finglas). Joe Duffy does 2 hours of "yeah", "yeah", "yeah" a day. He comes from Ballyfermot - he should have stayed there. The most talentless waste of space in RTE. And what about Gerry "im too good for a paycut" Ryan!? The cheek of him pontificating about "hard times" every morning on 2fm - He gets 600k a year or something of that order and comes across as just generally selfish, unpleasant and just a bit too far up his own arse.

IMO these talentless bunch should be put on the minimum wage. Of all of them only Brian Dobson seems to have any credibility.

I just cannot understand how it has got to a situation where these people are paid so much. It makes no sense.

Absolutely no way do any of these guys deserve anything over 500k. I blame the cozy and lazy management at RTE who are given too much licence fee to line their pockets and those of their friends. I would give PK no more than 400k, RT no more than 350k and G Ryan no more than 250k. PK is crazily overpaid for a show that is 'made' by all the infrastructure in RTE and the primetime slot it's given. The only reason I ever tune in is to see what guests are on and often enough tune right out again when no-one interesting is on. PK is a disincentive to watch it, for me.

I disagree about Brian Dobson having a major amount of credibility. He's just about ok - he's always come across as very wooden to me. The guy on TV3 (Alan Cantwell?) is much more credible, to my mind, even if he's a tad pompous. Where did TV3 find this guy that I'd never heard of before? There must be others out there that RTE could find that they could replace their big names with on a more realistic wage.

Reduce the licence fee and make the fat cats thinner!

I cant belive a r****d like turbity can get paid so much for wafling away to a so called celeb every saturday.

RTE shouldnt be paying their "stars" so much money and instead provide us with some good entertainment not the same top gear episode we have seen about 5 years ago.

    ........drivel drivel drivel.......

......... Trade Unions would no longer have a right to represent any sector (as in the US multinationals where wages are good and workers happy) etc etc. Then we are on the road to recovery.

Tell that to the workers in Dell

I've never wished this on anyone, but of all the people who could lose their jobs I really hope you're first. See how far your drivel manifesto gets ya then!
