You are denying Jade her dying wish, where she wanted to be remembered as a "mouthy bird... The one who irritated and entertained people in equal measure"

If you have a problem with my moderation on this thread, then take it to feedback.
I will not be entertaining any more crap from anyone.

I did the exact same thing when Steve Irwin died and I'll continue to act in this way.

Won't somebody please think of the children?
    Yes. I will.
Some may call me a loon for doing so, but I'm sticking by my decision here.
I'm also upping the ante on people trolling here. It will now result in a ban.

i really admired the girl. She was a mouthy girl and knew it. It was so admirable the way she handled her oncoming death.

I still dont think that was racism in celeb house. Ignorance and an annoyed, thats it.

The wedding was incredible, so bittersweet.

She has become a role model, in a very ironic twist of events.

How long till a jade goody foundation for victims of cervical cancer. How much exposure of it has she highlighted already.

i read the start of the thread earlier and saw the name in the thanks's.
i came back to the thread later and saw he was handing out bans and infractions, which in fairness were deserved, but thought it a bit pot-kettle-black. had a look at the first page and thanks were removed. of course i could be imagining the whole thing

My god people, what type of world do we live in at all a young mum dies and people still have a go.

Me myself never cared much for the Woman, i found her irritating and a loudmouth, but what she has done in the past few months to raise cancer awareness has been nothing short of spectacular.

If 1 little girl is saved it was all worthwhile no matter what type of person she was.

God help you Jade and rest in peace.

She wanted us to have a go - it's how she wanted to be remembered - hated by some, loved by others.

Terrible thing to happen to someone so young and with two little boys. My heard goes out to her family- at least she died knowing her boys would be financially safe. Horrible to die on Mothers Day RIP

I can only imagine the Princess Diana-like outpourings of grief throughout not just Britain but this country also over the next few days - get a ****ing grip! It's terribly sad that a young mother has died of cancer and I know it's only natural that people will pay a bit more attention to this because she's well known... but she's not the first or last young mother to die of cancer - I'd put money on it that another young mother has died of the illness elsewhere in Britain and Ireland today.
All the "mourners": have a sense of perspective FFS. No doubt plenty of people who called her a thick, chavvy slapper a few months ago will be in floods of tears today...

At the same time, making cruel comments in the immediate aftermath of this young woman's death is just a sign of a very bad-natured person.

Which she did whilst on LIVE TELEVISION.

FFS I knew as soon as she died she would be thought of as a saint, its pathetic.

In that case it is obvious most of this thread has flown past, way way above you.. like a jet.

She wasn't a saint, but someone that died from a pretty grotty affliction, with two boys who, wether they're well off or not (what does money protect you from exactly..), are going to have a difficult time of it, for several reasons.

I despised the media addiction and force feeding, I was indifferent to her as a person, but I empathise with her, as a fellow human being.. as I would expect you would expect some empathy from a fellow human being, if you, or your family were in the same situation.

You can empathise and throw out some emotional heat towards someone you don't know or see eye to eye with.

Very easy to type in dregs and tat on a keyboard when all there is to face up to is a reflection from a screen, your reflection, in all its glory eh..

The media circus that surrounded JG up to and before her death was no doubt embarrassing. But as being pointed out by others including myself their was a method in the madness of JG and her publicity chief Max Clifford .People in General will know the difference .

    1. it brought attention to the lack of smear teats for under 25s

2 .It helped JG provide for her two children although i suspect the children would rather have their mum than any money .

Being called a saint after her death would have made jade laugh a lot because she of all people would have being the first to deny it ( of course)

At the end of the day, this is a public forum, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, however i feel that some people here are hiding behind the anonymity of their usernames and posting nasty comments to create controversy.

I have followed Jade's story in the press for the last 7 years and yes, was shocked at the Celebrity Big Brother incident, not for the "racism" but for the bullying that Jade, Danielle and Jo subjected Shilpa to. Shilpa herself said she wasn't insulted by the "Poppadom" reference, but by the way they ganged up on her. I think that racism was brought up purely because Shilpa was Indian. Jade herself is a quarter black from her father's side.

However i feel that the media turned it into a bigger issue than it was. The three girls publicly apologised for their behaviour; apologies which were accepted by Shilpa. The media continued to drag it out, branding them pariahs of society, stirring up public hatred which resulted in Jade's house being vandalised and she having to go into hiding.

Loads of people would like to be famous. If they can sing, they become a recording artist, if they can act, they can go into acting, if they are blessed with good looks, they can pursue modelling. As for the rest, they audition for reality tv shows. Jade realised this, and used her exposure on Big Brother to become famous and make lots of money. She was the first Big Brother millionaire. You've got to admire that, considering she wasn't the brightest spark.

Other than becoming famous, she had two little boys, who she adored. If you watched the Living TV documentaries following her story since she got diagnosed, you would see that they meant everything to her and everything she did was for them to experience a childhood she never got herself.

Sorry for the long post but there were some venomous and throwaway comments littered through the thread and a few facts needed to be clarified.

Whats the craic with this mass mourning trend?

It's awful what happened to her, and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone, but I can't mourn someone I don't actually know.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,148 ✭✭✭✭KnifeWRENCH

I always thought Jade was smarter than she let on. She had (by all accounts) a horrible childhood but managed to get a normal life as a dental nurse before finding a way to make herself famous despite obvious lack of talent. She also managed to use the media to make money out of her own death, I have to say that if I could make a load of money out of my death to leave to my family when I'm gone, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Anyway her death is certainly a sad occassion, as it would be if any 27 year old mother died and left two young children. If you didn't like the woman, fair enough but taking cheap shots and leaving disrespectful comments is a bit low.

It's called having respect for the dead.

i've stayed out of this thread, i wont voice my opinion of her and about her 'fan' and 'well wishers'....

But its hard to respect someone in death, when their life, tragic as it maybe at the end... what a shiny example to the world of how not to be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭veryangryman

I have to say that some of the responses of this thread have been quite awful.

A person is dead. Nobody is asking you to care, but those who have insulted the poor woman should hang their heads in shame. Nobody deserves that treatment - celebrity or not.

Im very dissapointed that there are this many immature people on boards. Very dissapointed indeed

I was particularly touched to hear Max Clifford's comments this morning when he was interviewed live from Portugal, apparently standing next to his yacht.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

As a fellow human being, I respect that she was as flawed as we all are. Actually probably more. However I would never have wished anything like her sickness on anyone for simply being so annoying and intolerable. I hope her kids do well and wish her all the peace in whatever comes next.

ps: I really didnt like her when she was alive.

The big difference between Jade and the rest of us is that the cameras are never around to show the world how bad we can be.

    R.I.P. Jade.

    RIP Jade.

I was no fan of yours and do not really care about you or your life. Maybe your death will do some good in hi lighting smear tests etc but out from that, well whats all the fuss about?? You did not cure cancer, bring peace to the middle east or anything else of any actual significance.

I am personally sickened too by the media scrum to fawn over you right now and proclaim your perceived greatness. These are the same people and organisations who if i remember correctly branded you a pig, stupid and dumb (which maybe true) when you first appeared in BB and the a racist and all other sorts of names in the second BB. Now they all proclaim your greatness with one voice. Hypocrits and liers.

I am reminded of the death of Mother Teresa. A woman who gave her life to helping the poor, destitute and sick. Who remembers the wall to wall blanket coverage of her passing and funeral? An actual modern day living saint. Millions of people mourned her death but there was no media scrum for her. Why? Because another perceived media celebrity happened to die the same week as her. This celebrity was famous for marrying and divorcing a high profile man. Shagging a former England rugby captain, a heart surgeon and a number of other men, the last of whom was a muslim heir to a fortune. Who was she? Princess Diana.

All i can do is shake my head and wonder how we can elevate people like Jade to near hero status while those who deserve our admiration go unheeded. This world truely is f*cked up.
