Hated the woman's guts, honestly did. Profiting off a serious illness is completely outrageous as far as I'm concerned. And apparently her funeral will be filmed too.
But I wouldn't wish death on anyone. Even if I do joke about it.

This thread disgusts me, as did the last Jade Goody thread from a few weeks ago that was closed down.
Only the lowest of the low speak ill of the dead.
For all those who are 'apathetic', get real. You're obviously not if you take the time to post. Especially to the OP. You claim to be apathetic yet start a post 'because no one else had'. You choose after hours to open the post. That would be the last place I would choose to discuss her death if you were actually wanted a serious discussion about the scary fact that it could happen to any of us.

This is After Hours, full of all sorts of rocks, dark places and an abundance of lowlife creatures.
As for the woman herself, yes she prostituted herself, something which was actively encouraged by the collective public enthusiasm for the gutter. If there hadn't been an appetite amongst the public for what she was selling she'd have died as "that one who was in BB once". The sadness of it is a young mother leaving two kids behind.

The scumbags of boards really come out on these threads.

    RIP Jade.

You know I've never understood this way of thinking. If I knew someone who was a big c*nt and I made my opinion known when they were alive, why should the fact that they're dead stop me from expressing the same opinion of them?

Shock horror her funeral will be filmed. Did you object to Princess Dianas one?

Because you have nothing to gain besides making yourself look like an ass. Doesn't apply to proper Hitler-esque nutbags though.

been there also so you beleive the comments being made on this thread are acceptable.she lived her life in the public eye SO WHAT.that does not mean she nor her family deserve the pain, snide remarks/comments and put downs just because she was on telly.although i wished pain upon family members i might of worded it the wrong way.i just wanted theclowns here to see what pain she and her family would of had to endure

It might have something to do with the fact that no one had a fúcking clue who she was until the accident, and more than likely wouldn't had she not been married to Liam Neeson.
Speak for yourself .Just because miss Richardson wasn't on the front page like the Madonnas and Britneys of the world doesn't mean people didnt know she existed. She comes from a famous acting family for a start and appeared in fims such as the Parent trap alongside a young Lindsy Lohan .

Re Jade goody - Her racist comments in the BB house made people more aware of racism in the raw ,which she later aknowledged herself and her campaign to have smear tests for under 25s is to be appalauded .

    RIP

ffs, do people have any sort of perspective?
Goody embodied everything wrong about society and about humans in a more general sense.
She was not brave, she was oppurtunistic.
She was not naiive, she was pig-ignorant.
And she was not down to earth, she was dangerously uneducated, uncultured, racist, and all round another pawn in Max Clifford's bigger game of being the greatest prick on the planet.

Someone died of cancer. Happens every minute of every day.
Let's be careful not to look at this scourge (by that I mean Goody) as anything more than an unfortunate side-effect of a society gone a little bit wrong.

TBH that's a fair opinion. Lets face it she was a racist and just because she has past on that should'nt be forgot.

It is never nice to see someone die from cancer but it is also not nice to see that dickhead Max Clifford all over the news because of it. He is a ****.

Because if we feel a certain way about one topic that people don't agree with, it turns all our opinions about any other topic into worthless garbage that isn't worth listening to. Exactly.

That really makes you to be as bad as the people you are wishing that upon.

What made Jade so popular was that she was a mirror image of many of today's generation who are just like her in many ways and sadly saw in her some kind reflection of themselves. Jade got financially lucky out of this and could make some dosh and took the bull by the horns and went for it. The final chapter will be her Funeral

Frankly, I find that a little frightening. If Jade was a mirror image of today's generation, we've been doing something horribly wrong.

That's why there's a thread here about Jade, and not about Natasha. It's quite simple.

    Respectful thread for Natasha Richardson

    such a tragic story.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,190 ✭✭✭✭Latchy

Okay, I take back my comments, only those with a bad taste in movies knew her
. Sarcasim .I took my daughter to see the parent trap .
Seriously, get some perspective, had you asked people on the street before her accident who she was, I'd say you might get one or two people who knew, out of a few hundred. Had she not been married to Liam Neeson she wouldn't have even made the news (on this side of the water at least).
Perhaps it's an age thing . I would have being one of the two .
Now had you gone out on the street and asked who ''Jade'' was (no surname needed), you'd see that EVERYONE would know.

That's why there's a thread here about Jade, and not about Natasha. It's quite simple.
I think this thread also lets some posters vent more hate towards the deceased .A kind remark says more ,cost nothing and speaks volumes .

    RIP Jade.

I think some of the responses on here are nigh on disgraceful. Pseudo-intelligentsia has this weird notion that if you're not academically smart, somehow you're not as worthy, and it's a notion I abhor.

Nice one Jade, you did some good. :)

Maybe a reflection of a % of todays generation and not the whole deal .My daughter is not one of those % either. She (JG) was exploited by the media like many others have as good front page tabloid news , so good on her for using all the publicity to do some good before dying .

By saying that you're playing right into the hands of the shit-stirrers, don't give them the satisfaction of seeing you come down to their level.

I'll say what I've always said on this subject; I think Jade got criticised for the wrong reasons. I don't think Jade was well off when she was diagnosed with cancer as she lost a number of contracts after the CBB fiasco. In fact I'd go as far as saying that had she not gotten cancer, she'd be in the same situation as a fellow perceived "millionaire", Kerry Katona. Who is now broke.

So I don't hold anything against Jade for using the media to secure her children's future. At least this way Jade accumulated a sum that eventually only her two boys can touch, whereas any other money she had perhaps would have been perhaps open to other people.

I've seen what this particular cancer can do, in a similar situation to Jade's also, so I have nothing but sympathy for those around her.

Was not a fan but its very sad - seems even more poignant being Mothers Day.

So what do we know about Jade.

    1. She was human
    2. She wasn't perfect and made mistakes.
    3. She loved her kids
    4. She had the brains and foresight to see her children were to be cared for after her passing.
    5. She was loved and had the ability to love despite seeing and knowing others failings.

Let he who has not sinned, cast the first stone please - otherwise shut the frak up - ye are just being hypocrites.

RIP Jade - you did what you had to do.
Given the limited abilities and talents at your disposal, you did more in your short life time than any one moaner (about you) on a forum anywhere will ever do.

    Rest in peace.
