Believe me it made my day too when I heard it for the first time in ages. I waffled about this track before here, I used to have a tape Cliffy made me and that was the first track on it. Was probably the best tape I ever did have until I lent it to a bloke from Greenhills and it disappeared at a party he was at one night:mad: Cant stand that when people dont respect sounds you lend out. Never again!
Another 'Pick Me Up' in The Asylum was Sensation - Beautiful Morning http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nqm8vunmydj
You would be on the way out the door less half a stone which would be dripping from the ceiling at this stage when that track would come on and coats and all would be dropped on the floor and the Energizer Bunny would kick in for one last hurrah....:P Then out to O'Connell Street for the shock of your life:eek:
Sure this swine once actually copied a tape I lent him, Eric B & Rakim, and opened it up swapped the reels, giving me back the original cover with a swapped tape inside:eek: Some people....

Then its over to LeisurePlex, could never get into the Tallaght one with the mouldy head on my at 6 in the morning so breakfast in Molloys would have to suffice:D Senan you can bring the sounds:D

hey seanyboy, remember this from SIDES! :D

A classic 1990 mix i done which represents the sound of Sides DC in 1990, Ireland's greatest ever club my old stomping ground for years, most people only do mixes and play the usual Sides classics so this is something different for those of you who used to frequent Sides in 1990 will remember, didn't really bother too much as regards mixing as back then it wasn't about the mixing it was all about the tunes and this selection would be classics that were played throughout 1990 my favourite year in Sides DC, A crossover mixmatch of styles from Bleep, Acid House,Indie Dance and classic House with the occasional commercial tunes included.

    Enjoy :-)

Sorry man i have to disagree, Sides was undoubtely the best ever club in the history of this country and will never be bettered.:)

I think if you're going to talk about the "best club in the country", you need to consider clubs outside of Dublin. Sir Henries in Cork had the best atmosphere of any club I've ever been in (and I was in every club on your list), had greater longevity (Greg and Shane were resident DJ's for 14 years), and arguably better music than Sides. Just an alternative view, I did think Sides was a great club, but musically and atmospherically Henries was better imo.

Van Basten - Magnetic King (Zulu Nation Version.1).mp3

Have a tape somewhere of the lads playing on Rhythm FM years back......they were residents in a place on O'Connell street years back also called the 13th floor which was great for tunes.

Heres a link to an article that might interest a few folks on here.....a little bit before my time but interesting none the less as it identifies with clarity the beginnings of SIDES in 1986.....about half way down before it gets into SIDES as subject matter but well worth reading all of it;)

Laurent Garnier said Sir Henrys in Cork was the best club he ever played in.
I'm from Dublin but am more into the Sir Henrys oldskool meshmelf.
It was more housey than its Dublins counterparts.

Can anyone ID a track from around 1993-95... female vocal which sounded a bit like Sunscreem, really punchy bass and kick, heavenly choral bit and lyrics were something like this:

    Is it love, love, love?
Or is it love, sweet love?

Very sketchy I know but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it! I had it on an old Judge Jules global underground mix tape which is long lost.
