Having watched it he comes across as a stammering impotent moron and she like a clueless opinionated teenager. Harsh to watch.

Spot on, clicks all the boxes for a possible FF ministerial position in the future.:D

Lenihan did it a few weeks ago - now it's Manseragh's turn! on a program last night (at least this time the English don't get to see it)
who cares if they do anyway?

Yes we should be embarrassed for ourselves, but frankly I couldn't give a sh1t what the English or BBC or anyone foreign thinks.

    We didn't - he's a senator.

He's a TD for Tipperary South

"its not my opinion, its not my opinion"

well at least she had the last word.

Mansergh is not the greatest communicator but he is regarded as having played a key role in the peace process.

as a nation we can be thankful that we don't have the troubles to deal with along with a economic recession.

a bit strong to say that he made an eejit out of us.. also i think lenihan did very well on BBC a few weeks back.

britain is probably in a worse financial position than any other EU country ( possibly excluding ourselves ) and will be quite happy to convey the idea that things are worse for the paddies to distract attention from the sh1tst0rm that they are in themselves!

Apart from the fact that he was highy embarassing, the person who gave him the go ahead to appear on the show needs to be held to account. Surely someone must have known he was not the right choice.

They should have got Joe Jacob.

I feel depressed after watching it. Fianna Fail would watch the country go to sh*t if it meant they remain in power:(

Generally not a fan of Mansers, but I didn't think he did too bad. However it is annoying the way he raises his voice anytime anyone tries to interject.

I realy take a dislike to people who shout to get their point in!
And this TD was shouting over the journalist several times, especially at the end.

Sly smile from the interviewer there

    Fianna Fail supporter, are we?

And I think you'll find that Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and ourselves are in the worst financial positions in Europe.

Just watching that made me cringe. He came across as arrogant, infantile, and had absolutely no clue as to what is going on in the country, or offered any thoughts on how Ireland might climb out of recession.

Had to turn it off after 30 seconds. He was dithering so much it was cringe, sort of like a ricky gervais moment.

Nero didn't fiddle when rome burned. He actually led the fire fighting service to help put out the blazes.

Yes especially since there are over 1 million of them according to the 2007 election.

Tacitus would seem to substantially agree with you. Although Nero seems to have led the relief effort, rather than the fire-fighting. But
These acts, though popular, produced no effect, since a rumour had gone forth everywhere that, at the very time when the city was in flames, the emperor appeared on a private stage and sang of the destruction of Troy, comparing present misfortunes with the calamities of antiquity.
This isn’t the only thing that she got wrong, as we noted when discussing this on the Politics forum. I think the encounter was well caught by a comment on SluggerOToole
A case of the nerd meets the the college girl who thinks she’s great at everything!
Oops, I forgot this was AH. Arse. Tit. Bum. Willy.
