Lenihan did it a few weeks ago - now it's Manseragh's turn! on a program last night (at least this time the English don't get to see it)

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. This is the type of imbecile in charge of the country.:pac: The face on your one next to him is priceless.

Fcuk sake lads - the whole situation is absolutely catastrophic yet hillarious at the same time:pac:

Even the presenter is pissing himself laughing near the end.

Apart from the fact that he was highy embarassing, the person who gave him the go ahead to appear on the show needs to be held to account. Surely someone must have known he was not the right choice.

lol Neck no. I'm old myself so you can understand me not being ageist.
I'm just against old and tired worm out ideas and old farts espousing them, also too with unflattering shameful manners.

He should have moved over long ago for someone that is more camera/interview prepared, etc.

That is scarey to think a halfwit like him can get to be minister, gives you an idea of the mentality that voted him in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,803 ✭✭✭El Siglo

That was hilarious because not one person on that video could be described as being 'Irish'.:D Mansergh's an old, english, condescending prick, you should have heard what he said on Morning Ireland (yeh I know, old persons' program) last February to Eugene Regan (FG senator) when Regan was questioning Mansergh about Bertie's finances; "You should have respect for your betters!"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭connundrum

The House of Lords is the place for him imo.

Whether the govt are dithering with their policies, he certainly dithers in getting to the bleedin point.

I like her. She makes some sense. "Stop talking and start doing!" :D And she's right, people are scared.

As for Manseragh, "eh-eh-eh" gets a bit annoying after a minute.

But wait... how is he a senator and 'Junior Minister'?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 428 ✭✭Compak

We do elect senators. Well NUI and TCD grads do

Very poor representation from the government and also this nonsense of a business not getting 3,000 euro and 12 plus jobs gone. Cop on, as if anyone believes 3,000 would change the fortune form a business to having to shut down to being viable. Sure obviously suspending 5 of them for a week would get the 3,000.

SO from both sides we have retardation and we look like fools internationally.

He was found frozen in a block of ice in the bowels of dublin castle. Once they got him out of the red coat and got it into his head he couldn't own slaves, they let him out in public. He's paid in gin.

That's the Fff-ianna Fff-ail stammer. They use it to give them time to think.

who cares if they do anyway?

Yes we should be embarrassed for ourselves, but frankly I couldn't give a sh1t what the English or BBC or anyone foreign thinks.

"its not my opinion, its not my opinion"

well at least she had the last word.

Mansergh is not the greatest communicator but he is regarded as having played a key role in the peace process.

as a nation we can be thankful that we don't have the troubles to deal with along with a economic recession.

a bit strong to say that he made an eejit out of us.. also i think lenihan did very well on BBC a few weeks back.

britain is probably in a worse financial position than any other EU country ( possibly excluding ourselves ) and will be quite happy to convey the idea that things are worse for the paddies to distract attention from the sh1tst0rm that they are in themselves!

They should have got Joe Jacob.

Generally not a fan of Mansers, but I didn't think he did too bad. However it is annoying the way he raises his voice anytime anyone tries to interject.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,986 ✭✭✭✭mikemac

I realy take a dislike to people who shout to get their point in!
And this TD was shouting over the journalist several times, especially at the end.

Sly smile from the interviewer there

    Fianna Fail supporter, are we?

And I think you'll find that Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and ourselves are in the worst financial positions in Europe.

Just watching that made me cringe. He came across as arrogant, infantile, and had absolutely no clue as to what is going on in the country, or offered any thoughts on how Ireland might climb out of recession.

Had to turn it off after 30 seconds. He was dithering so much it was cringe, sort of like a ricky gervais moment.

Nero didn't fiddle when rome burned. He actually led the fire fighting service to help put out the blazes.

Tacitus would seem to substantially agree with you. Although Nero seems to have led the relief effort, rather than the fire-fighting. But
These acts, though popular, produced no effect, since a rumour had gone forth everywhere that, at the very time when the city was in flames, the emperor appeared on a private stage and sang of the destruction of Troy, comparing present misfortunes with the calamities of antiquity.
This isn’t the only thing that she got wrong, as we noted when discussing this on the Politics forum. I think the encounter was well caught by a comment on SluggerOToole
A case of the nerd meets the the college girl who thinks she’s great at everything!
Oops, I forgot this was AH. Arse. Tit. Bum. Willy.
