Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From what I've heard it was a decision by the French TV stations due to football being on on a Saturday

With big football matches on a sunday, friday night games makes alot of sense.

Morgan Parra strikes a lovely 34m penalty after Martyn Williams is pinged for playing the ball off his feet.

    6mins: France 3 Wales 3.

That's the France Network's scoreboard, notice that it's not the usual RTÉ graphic. So it's in French basically.

Yes, that's the French for Wales. Pays de Galles.

    Another Jones penalty.

    9mins: France 3 Wales 6.

not sure cos im stuck in work. but i know rte rarely bother changing the french scoring templates. GAL stands for Wales (Pays de Galles) in french

For a unexperienced flyhalf Baby is putting in some great kicks

    Pity about that pass tho!

For a unexperienced flyhalf Baby is putting in some great kicks

He's a FB in his spare time so he is used to kicking and he has a huge boot.

Certainly is, he's putting up some skyscrapers, and the French runners have plenty of time to put the Welsh back three under serious pressure.

Decent start, although some handling errors by France is costing them possession so far.

Shanklin very, very lucky to not get 10 there in the bin. He made no effort to play the ball, and took Harinordoquy out of it. Should have walked IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,894 ✭✭✭dreamer_ire

    Shanklin very lucky there

stuck in work for the first half and a bit. I've a bet on Wales (-2pts). Hows my money looking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

Hands in the ruck according to the TMO and referee. No try. Penalty Wales.

It looked to me like Harinordoquy was ok, I'd like to see it again.

Ill say it again Wales are riding in a bubble of confidence.........won't take much to burst it, the English damaged it the French might break it. Brilliant.

Lovely cutting angle to get that try.

Try Wales, Lee Byrne after a great break by Tom Shanklin. Took a lovely line to go through.

    France 3 Wales 13.

Another Parra penalty, well struck from the right hand side.

    35mins: France 6 Wales 13.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

Baby took a knock to the knee, his game is over, but he certainly played decently.

    Trinh-Duc is on at outhalf.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,952 ✭✭✭Morzadec

interesting... do you know much about this new outhalf?

    cheers for the updates

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

Try France, Thierry Dusautoir. Great break by Harinordoquy to get the momentum.

Coverted by Parra, who is kicking beautifully and 3/3 so far.

    Halftime: France 13 Wales 13.

Try France. Dusatoir. Parra converts. All square at half time. France 13-13 Wales.

All square at the break, sacre bleu

He's not exactly new, he played all their matches during last years Six Nations. He's a good player but out of form for his club so it's hard to make a conclusion really.

He's a decent player, young lad, but actually a full-time outhalf! Plays for Montpellier, and played in last years Six Nations. Has a few caps for France from last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,413 ✭✭✭chupacabra

He is part vietnamese, played alot of their games last year.

    At what odds???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

Opportunity for France to take the lead here, I think it was M Williams offside.

Parra just pulls his attempt left by a shade.

    48mins: France 13 Wales 13.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

    Try France, Heymans.

Great finish to go through/around four Welsh defenders.

Parra hit the post with the conversion.

    54mins: France 18 Wales 13

Bennett, Peel and Henson on for Wales as they change it up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

This should pop the bubble now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭cruiserweight

Nearly messed that up, Heymans did really well

Missed conversion means that you can't win your bet now, hard luck

I think the French team deserve to win, they are a different team to when we played them. They have a fire in their eyes and are not afraid to execute! Wales I think were a bit more complacent about this match after beating England.

Wales were in a bubble of confidence (patten pending im waiting for Hook to coin this) and it's just about disappeared.

Now this resembles the Wales we all knew in 2007 (Pre & During RWC,) clueless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,155 ✭✭✭juvenal

Another Parra kick clips the post, after a great start that's two penalties and a conversion he's missed.

    65mins: France 18 Wales 13.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭cruiserweight

Wow France hit the post twice, game could be all but over if they had made them
