    Wow!! thats actually scary

    If you look at the combat logs in the game mechanics thread you'll see the stormer does more damage in hand to hand combat with the butt of the shotgun than actually shooting the gun itself!!

    stormer are really hand to hand combat monsters

    I just want to run a few things by people in case they dont know as this relates to combat and its important:

    Firstly here's how combat works (kinda sorta)

    Ranged combat

    Target a body part (hands, legs, chest (default) or head)
    Determine DC
    Roll to hit (2D10 + Ranged Skill) Vs DC
    If you pass you damage
    Armor save
    Assign damage

    Hand to hand combat:

    Target a body Part (Hands, Legs, Chest (default) or head)
    Determine DC
    Roll to hit (2D10 + melee skill)
    If you pass you damage
    Armor save
    Assign damage


    Both cases are nearly identical apart from skill used to add to your roll. If you dont have a skill (for example you dont have the skill to throw a grenade i will use your DEX bonus with the 2D10 Roll)

    MOST IMPORTANTLY as this applies to you aswell are body parts (hence me asking all the time what body part do you want to shoot at)

    You can shoot at the head, the arms the legs or the chest

    The chest area is the default area as its the largest and easiest to hit unfortunately its got the most amount of hit points and therefore is the hardest area to take out. The legs and arms have half the amount of hit points the chest area has and the head and 3/4's less hit points than the chest.

    Its harder to hit someone in the head but if you do you have a good chance of killing them outright. see below

    If someones chest hit points fall to 0 they are unconscious

    If someones arm hit points drop to half they are only able to use 1 handed weapons and are at major modifiers for skills etc if both there arm hit points drop to zero they can not use there arms again until healed

    If someones leg hit points drop to half they can only move half speed to everyone else and are at major modifiers for skills combat etc. If both legs are dropped to zero hit points then the subject cannot walk again until healed

    If someones head hit points drop to 0 they are killed instantly

    so therefor as you can see it takes longer to put someone down if your shooting them in the chest area but its the easiest area to hit while if you go for the head (a much much harder shot) if you hit them you have a chance of killing them outright

    You should seriously consider it

    eglon is a walking wall of muscley death, you did more damage again just by punching that mutant with your mutliator glove than you did shooting him In fact you did so much damage you'd have knocked him unconscious with one punch from the glove IE knocked all his hit points from his chest area in one punch.

    the only thing is against low armored targets your a lethal raging drooling killing machine but against heavy armored targets you'll have a tough time dealing damage. its a trade off use guns against heavy armored targets use the glove against weaker targets.

    If the game feels like its running on too long i can cut it short as its only now the plots beginning to develop it took longer than i had anticipated I had planned for about a fair few more turns as the games story is taking shape now but i can make it longer/shorter if you wish and we can get back to a regular blue run if you like.

    What say you?

    I like the slightly more turns in combat idea, gives us a bit more control, I don't think its taking too long at all.

    thanks for the feedback id welcome some more if anyone had any.

    also i snuck in the next game turn (game turn 9) at the end of combat so when everyone has recovered from the buzz of their first proper fight post away in the game turns thread and we can continue.

    I'm not really sure where were going with this as i was darn sure you guys were gonna kill that mutant and the killer. This could get ..... interesting for me.

    Dont worry about it my man its all cool bananas.

    People have stuff to do in real life i know, school, college, work and the messeyness that is real life gets in the way. thats what im here for tho a gentle poke every now and then to remind you that you need to post.

    You'll all be happy to know i have an ending written for the game .... well to be more precise 6 of them. As the turns progress judging by what you all do i can narrow down and eliminate the ones that dont fit the current story as an example.

    1 of them is a happy ending
    1 of them is a scooby doo ending (had to right one just in case)
    1 of them ... you all die

    so there's no pressure like .....

    That indeed is the question.

    I suggest you take a vote or if you have the time to have a quick discussion about it as Thead cant really post her game turn until its decided what your going to do about it, also qwertz hasn't really answered ro'weeina's question yet on COMS either.

    I do know qwertz is very busy at the moment with RL stuff college etc and we are in no rush to finish the game so we can wait until he and thaed are ready.. I say this because this game turn is quite important let me assure you of that. What Ro and qwertz do now may effect the entire outcome of the game. So please take your time i implore you.

    if someone would super poke qwertz for me to check if he's still alive once i know that we can hold off until qwertz and thaed are ready.

    In the mean time i'll think of a few things to keep you all on your toes I'll PM them to you over the next day or too.

    I don't see what killing him will achieve, I get the feeling that questioning him will result in a lot of babble, but we can try and see if we get anything. Letting him walk will still be an option.

    If Eglon and Vigo could post what they think you might have a clearer picture of what the squad wants. Qwertz isnt around at the mo so If the others could make a general decision majority rules could decide the killers fate.

    This guy ... I dunno. We could start working him over but chances are that his mechanism for such things is already gone. We'd either get no where or make him tell us things that arent true just to make us stop.

    Personally I'd love to start putting caseless rounds through his joints one by one but I doubt that would help matters much.

    Roweena didn't ask Qwertz anything in the comms channel, she made a statement. Of course it could very well be a typo.

    Qwertz has made a deal with the assassin and he will honour that deal.

    hmmm i dunno its the lesser of 2 evils really. what would be worse another human in the group or an touchy feely ebon healer.

    Depends on what kind of character queen-mise wants to play.

    A combat beat the crap out of everything kind of character

    A stealthy sneaky scout / theify type character

    A Magic type character (either healer or combat)

    Or something else entirely.

    Speaking of which forgot to mention this Queen-mise if your reading this, your more than welcome to start posting on the players chatroom (after all you'll need to get to know your current players / squad mates) but until you get your character sheet you cant post in the COMS Channel or Game turns Threads dont worry i'll be mailing that too you in bits and bobs over the next day or two and i'll let you know when you can post in what thread.
