Smart people will survive, and that's how it should be

I'm not sure many of us will survive. To be honest, I'm half resigned to the belief that I'll be living off tree bark in a year. I supose I'm lucky I didnt have money to burn during the Celtic Tiger years, at least I've got nothing to compare this too!!!

Also, got no 300 K house either so yeah, lol

lol @ all the people who bought 300K houses in the past few years

Bet if you saw an old lady fall on the street, you'd kick her in the face for lolz, right ?

If the bus drivers go on strike we will simply employ the unemployed to drive the employed to their place of employment.
Problem solved, we all go home and eat biscuits.

    We're F**ked Are'nt We?

Well judging by the semi-public announcement statement and the way it was presented/worded to the Dail and the general public, I'd say "Yea".

Schite, Cowen can't even give a decent national speech right for fraks sake.
Someone hire him a DECENT speech writer - I'm sure there has to be one or fifty by now on the dole!

In desperate times such as these (ridiculously long sigh) the thing to do, is to piously mention countries less fortunate than ourselves and count ourselves lucky that we're not...well them I suppose - Alas, outside of Burkino Faso and North Korea, there really aren't too many basketcases remaining with which to compare ourselves - I dunno, I really wanted to disagree with the main theme of the thread but I'm struggling to come up with reasons to stay optimistic...

It is sweet irony to the morons who are in negative equity and lost their jobs (big mortgage payments on the dole :pac:)but who voted for Fianna Fail.... karma I tells you sweet karma, I hope everybody who voted Fianna Fail goes Bankrupt and are forced to immigrate to some god forsaken hell hole in the south pacific and are forced to earn a lving involving feces.

For everybody else normal and sane there is Enda Kenny's Mastercard. Perhaps after this people will wake up and see the sort of scum FF are send them packing like their former Mudguards the PD's.

We need a public referendum to ban the entire Fianna Fail party forever.

P.s. I hate Brian Cowen and Fianna Fail

I can't sleep, thinking of what the hell I am going to do.

Well I know my parents are fairly sorted. They worked their asses off for the past 30 plus years. I could always move home and live off them if things get really bad.

Ah we will pull through it. Economies naturally recede. Ok maybe not this bad, but it happens.

Most of us will be fine, it will be a wake up call for people living in la la land the past decade. Some people are rightly foooked. I feel sorry for some.

    Look....

Its like this, once you have your health everything will be alright, its not like the world is coming to an complete end or anything. We will survive and in a couple of years time all this bull**** will be forgotten about and we will be looking back and going, jesus yeah remember that.

Stop worrying about debts and money. Even when there were jobs everyone was still in debt and no doubt most of us will be until we hit the coffin.

Live life its very very short...

Please can we have a Recession forum ?

do people realise we need more like 20 billion in cuts per year while we aimed for 2 billion. Bit of a difference......

Ireland wont be able to fund its finances next year as no one will lend to us.
Cowan knows this thats why he made the comment about the IMF. Comments he denied he made but which the reporter would not back down on.

Good luck Ireland inc. When the masses arise from their slumber it will be far far too late. The window of opportunity was wide open last year its closing fast though. The bank guarantee is what will finally sink the country.

Peoples concept of being ****ed is strange.

Oh no I won't have surplus amounts of cash to buy crap I don't really need. Jesus pass around razor blade so I can end the pain as quick as possible.

You're alive aren't you? So shut the **** up whining about the ****ing recession and financial crisis.

The large majority of people won't really feel any drastic side effects. Sure people may have a reduced incomes but food and basic commodities fall in price in recession times.

As for the people who lose jobs, it's not your god given right to hold a job so get over it, get yourself some more qualifications, start your own business, find employment in a different area, shovel **** for a while if you have to.

****ing hell, nothing but a bunch of whining useless ***** in this country, waiting for Brian ****ing Cowen to fix everything.

That actually makes me proud to be from that city - anywhere else and workers would just quietly walk out the factory gates with their heads down.
At least Waterford people have backbone and are not afraid to try to keep their factory open while a new buyer is found.

It's time for the B.P.P to be formed - the Boards Political Party.

    I bags senior vice president.

If it was in the hands of this Irish Government then yes we'd be fooked already, thankfully its not. Our economy is so strongly linked with the UK and the banks in england are already starting to recover some sanity to the balance sheets.

If not for the euro this country would have gone the route of Iceland already.

Correction: "It is because of the Euro that this country is going the Iceland route" However, I bow to superiour intelligence. President Sarkosy has said that the EU bailed us out. I don't quite understand how, but as they told me at school, I must believe.

It'll be even more corrupt that FF ever was within three months.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Indeed, they have enough brass in their necks to try and find another purchaser who will be stupid enough to line their pockets with their vastly inflated wages and they can bankrupt the company again.
