Just looked across to Breakingnews.ie seen a array of bad news.

Waterford crystal employee's in fisticuffs, public spending down, talks of bus drivers going on strike, student fee's being introduced.

I could go on, and point the fingers but a finger pointing session wont get us out of this mess.

Dont know what will, but the worst is yet to come the amount of people living in the red is truely scary, whats going to happen when the debs get called in?

Sorry to sound a bit glum bit this is getting to me now (know it shouldnt as i'm not in a bad situation)

it will probably last a couple of years ,I've been told by loads of people that this always happens every twenty years or so.

It's not the end of the world:)

It ain't looking good. If the government had that much trouble trying to cut €2 billion, what's it going to be like next year when they have to cut €4 billion with higher unemployment and less tax coming in.

Only the fools who took out big mortgages on houses, when realistically anybody with a half of a brain (or even any kid who reads McWilliams since 2002/3) would know that they will be in negative equity.
The people who lose their jobs, its very sad, but its better to have nothing than to owe a bank 400k and have no job.
Those are the ones who are really ****ed :)

If you can keep your job, then you'll be grand. You might have to take a pay cut, but a jobs a job.
Problem is plenty of people so far think there job is safe, but really no one in the private sector is safe, unemployment of 20% might not be unrealistic.

YES we are all truly fcuked. The global financial services have collectively piled all their ****,debts, corrupt deals etc together and produced a gigantic dildo of debt which they have used to fcuk all our asses. Then when they were finished ,they sent us the bill for manufacturing the giant dildo.

Well my company announced 20% redundancy today ..which is balls because now we have to wait the legal 30 days to find out who's getting the chop..nonsense eh..
But yes I worry for friends of mine who bought during the boom...scary times ahead.

If the fecken bus drivers go on strike then how are the rest of us meant to get to work ? We'd need a lot more taxi drivers on the roads to get us all into work :D

Then give them a pension opt-out option, and they have to fund their own pension like the rest of us.

Fookers can't hold the country to ransom like that, causing huge disruption and expense making the situation even worse.

They have to let go a few hundred of them anyways, so let the loud mouth ones who strike go first.

ITS TIME FOR A STREET PARTY.

I think its time for this country to take to to the streets in protest. That DICKHEAD cowan in earning more money that any other world leader yet we dont hear of him taking a pay cut or any of the rest of his cronnies.

They say that people shopping up the north is killing us but yet it is the same product you buy up the north as down here yet there maybe as much as 400% price difference in the same product.

And now they are hitting the wrong people in their pockets when it should be the likes of cowan etc that should be taking the hit. Things were great and people paid what ever the price was when things were good and now things have gone wrong and people are searching for the best deal they can find yet consumers wont lower their prices.

At the rate things are going we wont even get buuter vouchers never mind the labour:mad:

I completely agree with you on that ,the majority of the older drivers have no mortgages I'd say. And they get paid more ,it's ridiculous. They're probably out sick half the time aswell.

Regardless of pay ,I wouldn't wish his job on anyone at the moment. Don't like the bloke much at all now ,but jayzuz he has it tough at the moment.

OK the government couldn't run water(not many governments can) and the banks are money hungry as fook(what business isn't) but most of Ireland over the past ten years spent their money like it had an expiry date and saved nothing and now when **** goes belly up most people have no safety net

Kind of like a financial version of Darwin's Law...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Well i have zero debt of any kind and a secure although not spectularily paid job but it's okay and i just got a new contract. Recessions are negative for 20-30% but for the rest stuff just gets cheaper.
Unless of course we have one of those super recessions and our government starts underwriting loadsa debt while failing to make real and effective decissions to save money like cutting massively overpaid underworked and poorly performing people out of the countries public service. I'd rather they be on the dole doin nothing than getin 100k for same. Sure that'll never happen.
