Shame... I quite like him as an actor

Dunno how the bloke in the clip held back. He must value his career. I'd take a swing at Bale probs

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaus_Kinski
while filming Aguirre: The Wrath of God, irritated by the noise from a hut where cast and crew were playing cards, Kinski, using a rifle, fired three shots at it, blowing the top joint off one extra's finger.

    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/378329/the_werner_herzog_klaus_kinski_clash.html?cat=40
Kinski threatened to walk away from the film after a substantial portion had already been filmed. In fact, Kinski's threat warranted quite a reaction from Herzog; he told Kinski that, if Kinski did indeed walk off the set (and out of the jungle), two shots would be fired-one into Kinski's back, and one into his own head. It was actually rumored for years that Herzog held a gun at Kinski off-screen, to make sure he performed properly.

Ive never liked him but didnt know why, this proves my point that he is an idiot.

What a moronic thing to say, how does this prove hes an idiot? the guy had a go at someone who wasnt doing their job properly and probably ruined a shot, according to set reports its the most intense scene in the movie and the guy ruined a take Bale and McG were happy with, the guy obviously has a ton of pressure on him (or had since this happened last summer) and snapped, big deal people get yelled at who screw up every day

I hope you're right because up to now I had always held him in high regard but after this, well frankly he comes off as a pathetic little bitch in need of a serious ass kicking. Even if the guy did ****up a perfectly good take theres absolutely no excuse to talk to anyone like that.

And baglady, thats a great remix :D

It says the DP had wandered around a few times, so if true and Bale blew his lid after it happening again then the guy deserved it as far as I'm concerned.

Movies cost a bomb to make and if this guy was indeed ruining a load of scenes/shots then he got off light with a rant.

That said, stinks of a publicity stunt.

If somebody start waving their hand in front of my computer screen in work, they'd be told to cop on. If they did it a 2nd time, I'd probably tell him to **** off and stop being a retard.

Bale was over the top but he had a point as there was some mong in the scene whereas he should've been off licking windows somewhere.

was thinking the same... although he does have a history of this sort of thing, getting arrested for fighting with sister/mother a few months back

this thread was done earlier btw and moved to another forum (maybe not ah) http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055478377

If you spend a lot of time probably months preparing for something then on one of the many days you have to deliver to people that are expecting a lot from you because of your reputation and someone does something to throw you off in the middle of it in a way that is totally unprofessional and in his experience unexpected i'm sure you wouldn't like it.
We've all gone off on one at people, family, friends and in work to some degree and in environments no where near as intensely emotionally charged.

I dunno imagine your in the middle of your driving test and one of your mates suddenly pops up from hiding in the back and starts tugging at your arm just as you go around corner. I think he'd get the same kind of reaction from me.

Bale is getting paid millions of dollars to do the movie, after that scene he retires to his giant trailer to be fed grapes by his model assistant, quaffing champagne and blue m&ms. Another assistant gives him a footrub while a naked midget gives him head.

At the end of the days work (around 2pm), he drives his Aston Martin Vanquish back to his multimillion dollar house in the hollywood hills, before throwing on some free Versace gear for a night on the town quaffing more free champagne in the company of the most beautiful women in the world.

The guy he shouted at eats Supermacs value meals most days and lives with his mother.

Yes, Bale was a dick to act that way to a co-worker/subordinate.

Well it's all okay really even though he said he'd never work with him professionaly again and if he wasn't gone tomrrow he would walk he did say 'you're a nice guy'.

And so the viral marketing begins.

I have some land to sell you if you believed that.
I can only sell it to you when the tide is out though.

    o...k

    some misconceptions here

    1. DP: Probably the 2nd most important person on the crew. It goes Director then DP and AD, DP only comes before AD because everybody always hates the AD (assistant director, who's job it is to get everyone to their right place at the right time, most stressful job there) does that make him more important then the celebrity actor...to the crew YES.

2, DP's get paid very well, they are highly respected, they are usually on the set hours before the actor at which point they are numero uno, they hand the big stick over to the director and AD when its time for filming and they take up their role behind the camera.

    3. If the DP goes and fixes a light during a scene it usually means if they dont fix that light the take is already bust, if the DP didnt tell the director then he was in all likleyness trying to save the take.

    4. When it comes to the anatomy of a scene the DP is the only person after the director who see's it best, since chances are he spent the most time outside of the director, writer and editor painstackingly going over every cm of the bloody thing.

5, If he has done it more then once and the director hasnt chewed him out and not only that but has worked with this DP on prior productions and you as an actor have never worked with this director before this film, chances are then you have problem with how the director runs his ship not the DP.

No, he eats supermacs value meals most days, and lives with his mother. And I hear he's in therapy now after the attack....

he more likely eats supermacs because he has to be on the set hours before anyone else and nowhere else is open.

Exactly, then Bale goes ape**** on him. Horrendous.

i'd agree with you, I'm just getting the impression from alot of these threads that people are mistaking the DP for some young inexperianced pup who messed up and got unfairly chewed out by the big mean professional.

He sounded petulant rather than threatening. It would have been better if he used the batman voice.

He's been a rich celebrity since he was a kid yeah? It's hardly surprising that he throws tantrums surely.

You'd lose....He is Batman, John Connor and he got rode by Ben Kenobi..........the man has all kind of force on his side.

In fact, can I state now, in all likelihood Christian Bale is Jesus.

Bale is a good actor, and I can only imagine what kind of stress those guys place on themselves. After all it wasn't too long ago that Heath Ledger had his overdose (and I know that, for the record, they ruled out suicide, you have to admit, it just doesnt sit right)

But if he doesnt learn to keep it together he's going to crash and burn quickly. Between this and his family problems last year it wont be long before nobody wants to cast him.

In all fairness, the child needs to be slapped.

The DP on TERMINATOR SALVATION, Shane Hurlbut, is a apparently a light tweaker. He's a fairly young DP and likes to fiddle with his lights on set during action, which is a big "NO NO" on most productions unless worked out in advance with performers. But apparently Shane was a pretty unrepentant light tweaker.

The scene in question, was a very emotional and tough scene between Christian Bale and Bryce Howard. A scene that required soul bearing and a deep level of immersive concentration. The sort of scene where everyone on set knows not to get in anyone's eye lines, and definitely not to move lights around while FILMING. You lock that **** down before the scene starts.

Bale had indeed warned the DP on multiple occasions about messing with lights while the cameras were rolling, and Bale was in the midst of a painful scene with Bryce, what was described to me as being the emotional center of the film and his character for the film.

Now, the reason I know all of this is because the person that was there, felt that it should be made perfectly clear that Christian Bale was the utmost gentleman and cool guy on set. And the DP really was doing something that professional DPs with experience just don't do. Not during a performance.

next time you all get flipping over-the-top pissed at some annoying retord, you might want to thank your lucky stars some sneaky character isn't recording your rage so some bored aul fellas can be shocked on the internet and tell each other that "the child needs a slap"

Yes....he was professional and an utmost gentleman except when he was being a complete and utter dickhead.
    Very sensible statement.

For anyone who hated him before this backs up their view. For those who liked him, if you have any sense, it'll diminish the respect you had for him.
It has done. TBH, I couldn't give a f*ck about most famous people, but I liked Bale. Now, I realise he's as arrogant and out-of-touch as a Hilton or a Spears.
