When will they realise we don't want texts to tell us they lost a contact lens/ate a pizza for dinner/ ask us how lunch was (in the middle of the working day)?
Why do they wonder if there's something wrong if, after a full day of e-mailing back and forth, we don't call them for a chat that evening?
WHY, do they call, talk for an hour, then when hanging up say they will call later to say goodnight?!
Why do they think we have any interest in the new dress they are going to buy?
What is this thing about having to be in CONSTANT touch all the time and why don't they realise it means we start to dread hearing from them and start thinking about breaking up?

With all due respect, if it is such an offence then why go out with here, or will it just be the gripe du jour on AH?

The simple fact is that it boils down to two things.

    1) Your inability to communicate effectively with your girlfriend. Have you tried telling her that you don't need that much contact? Maybe try actually talking to her about THAT instead of nodding your head and falling asleep.

    2) She is just the type of person who enjoys a lot of contact with her other half and you are unwilling to accomadate her in the small area.

Also, the mistake you made here was saying "we". Not all men are the same, personally i ****ing love chatting to my girlfriend.

Yeah I get where you're coming from, but sadly no - nearly 30. But I used to get the same frmo prevuious gf's so it's not just her - and I see it in mate's gf's too (some to much higher a degree than others - i.e. one friend I play golf with gets a call, and I am not joking(!!) every 30 - 45 minutes!- they are in their mid thirties.. - sorry punctuatiuon went mad there, seem to have lost all concept in my Ronnie Corbett story telling style.

Look, the Simpsons have done the whole "being straight is ghey" thing in that fantastic childish method too many times for it to be even remotely funny anymore.

A bit of originality really wouldn't hurt mate.:D

LoL, your bitching about an issue that is very easy to solve mate. It's not one of those funny, generic things where everyone will come in and go "yeah, that SO ****ing true, lol, OP , you are SUCH a funny ****er", it's just a tiny relationship problem that you are allowing to grow way out of bat simply because you lack the ability to directly communicate what's important to you....and the humour lacks snap because most other people are able to talk to their partner.

This type of thing is only funny at a Comedy Festival and only if people have paid to hear your special brand of generalisations.

Until then, i will be sticking with my "poor diddums" line of posting.

Agree with Dragan, I love getting a text off my GF, brightens up my day no matter what, don't mind if she complains about something etc, I genuinely like texting/talking to her! :)

I've got a mate who gets the call at least once an hour. It's actually shocking the rate at which she rings to chat absolute nonsense. The poor pussy puts up with it though.

Sounds like you just attract dim women who have very little to do all day than text their moany boyfriend. Next time, try finding someone with a job who doesn't wear contact lenses or eat pizza.

My x girlfriend was like that rang me for like three hours atthe end of the day she stoped doe when she got the phone bill for the first two months ha ha

It depended on my mood how long i would text her back for she text me every hour i was still in school so that was my excuse back then all woman like to talk more than men but saying that the guy every half an hour is crazy

Never bothered me tbh. My last long termer was a master of texting 3 or 4 a day in work and maybe 4 in the evenings and that was a slow day. I'd figure she'd been run over if I didn't hear from her every 3 hours.:D I didn't mind. Actually liked it tbh. meh

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

It might be worth noting that I get 4-5 texts off my GF max a day, that generally sums up everything we have to say until we meet up, these would be spread across a 12 hour period so my head isn't wrecked. If she was texting and ringing every 5 minutes it might get a tad annoying..

A bit like a friend of mine's ex, he was down in my house playing snooker, she texts him, he reads it and puts the phone down to finish the game. No more than 5 minutes passes and she's ringing him to find out why he hasn't texted back yet - I ****ing made him dump that horrible bitch.

Yeah, such a shame that any man would be happy enough to chat to his girlfriend?

Sorry mate, not buying that one as even remotely funny, so much as ****ing closed off and sad.

Um if my OH is too busy to talk he will say "H, I'm busy, I'll see you at home tonight" If I'm too busy when he calls I'll do the same.

I would much prefer that then have him "put up" with talking to me.

Can you not just be straight with her? What a silly problem.

Oh, I get it. Practicing a new observational comedy skit. Hmm, might want to work on it. Asking too many rhetorical questions may send the audience in to a frenzy.
