Does anything annoy you about your instument?

As the title suggests...

I'll start. I play an Epiphone Les Paul, and I love it, except for when I'm messing around quietly, because where I pick is right above the Neck pick-up, and the pick always touches off it, grand with some volume from the amp, covers it up, but when I'm playing quietly because others are around or something it drives me crazy.

What about everyone else?

Fender Am std strat. I love it!!.Though i would like to be able to get a more gain out of it. But i love the typical strat tone, and i realize if i want something heavier than i need to get a les paul or something similiar. So it's hardly a complaint

.

Also, i wish the bridge pickup was a little more usable. It sounds exactly how a strat bridge should sound, but i'd love to replace it with something which is closer to a tele bridge pickup. More versatile.

the one thing that annoys me is the 1st fret buzz on the B and high E strings on my Fender 72 Telecaster Custom.....its such a beautiful guitar and i dont play it enough cause of the fret buzz

if that is buzzing when playing an open string? sounds like a badly cut nut
if it's when the first fret is fretted then it sounds like it needs a little work over with a fret file

nothing with my epi dot...

My MIM Strats volume pot knob is totally non functional

They are the only 3 that id bother talking about really.

actually my acoustic, its in bits, love it so hard, but i want a mic on it.

I hate that for some strange reason I can't pull off any pinches like I could before on my ibanez and the severe lack of sustain is p1ssing me off !

Ibanez J custom - Maybe its just me I dunno but even when I get the pinches the don' last long !

After a big clearout this year Im down to three guitars - Bacchus Duke, Gibson ES333, (which unfortunately has to go to fund = ) Hamer Artist. The only thing that really annoys me is that I aint master of them, three lovely guitars but its my own shortcomings as a player that annoys me. I suppose its a case of a bad workman not blaming his tools for once.
Ive had plenty of guitars over the years with little niggles that annoyed me (like Strat bridge's for example as mentioned by Spoonbadger) but with those three its my playing that gets to me, the guitars are faultless:o

I get some awful hissing off my Ibanez SR1005, but I believe this is down to the pickups themselves. May consider replacing the pickups when I get cash.

or the whole electrics, maybe even adding some shielding to wiring will help

unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about electrics at all

a friend is gonna rewire a broken Squier I have lying around, so I'll ask him about it. Thanks for the tip!

The sandberg logo on my bass is really plasticy and tack basically, bright chrome writing on headstock. other than that, the fact that it whoops my a$$ and not the other way around......yet

My secondry strat is pretty heavy, and after a long show it can hurt my back a bit, other than that, i love my guitars!

The low E saddle on my Jazzmaster, when I set it flat, it's fine, then after a bit of playing the screws start to move down, it'll start buzzing, and the string'll eventually jump out of the saddle. Kinda have to reset the bridge every few sessions. I need some loctite...

FWIW On one of my strats the second tone knob controls the bridge pickup. This IMHO does make it a lot more useable. Apparently its just a matter of desoldering one wire from the 5-way switch and soldering it to a different lug on the switch. Diagrams abound on Google if you're interested.

yeah its just when the 1st is fretted....its doing the same on my Ibanez too....

ok me being the laziest person in the world and having never attempted any home repairs on guitars is doing what you suggested as easy as it sounds....

is it just a case of getting a fret file and giving it a small going over?

My Fender Precision Lyte has a bit of a hum thats wrecking my head recently, must sort it out!

But the only non-fixable thing really is have to replace the batteries on it....

It's not that i think it's too harsh,but i just think strat standard bridge pups are kinda thin sounding in general. I might get a brass baseplate for it though, see how that sounds.

You should replace it with a mustang bridge. Alot of jag/jazz players replace the bridge, the standard ones are just too awkward.

How heavy is really "pretty heavy"?

My main bass is 11.5lbs with two of my other ones coming in at 11lbs each. :eek:

My G&L weighs in around the same. Does n't bother me too much with a wide strap.

No gripes with my gear really, unless you count that i feel wierd playing my musicman just cause its a 4 string and im so used to playing 5's.
