    Happy New Year to you all!!

    unfortunately i didn't get a chance to look at boards over the break due to the random and almost fun at times intermittent power loss we experienced over the Christmas break. It started christmas eve at 8pm and we got power back at 2am Christmas day. If that wasnt bad enough i got the vomiting bug and was bed ridden for 3 days! that was on stephens day!

    Then of course my 30th rolled around and then everythings a hazy blur after that i woke up this morning with a hangover fully dressed and shaved at my desk in work! so here i am working away. i'll roll up the next game turn now and hopefully will have it posted by about 2PM today

    how was everyones christmas and new years? good i hope??

    I've been playing around with the idea of showing you guys the previous turns game rolls. Since were using a BBS to play a RPG it means you dont hear the tumble of my dice when i roll.

    So from now on if you want i can post the previous game turns dice rolls if you want to see how well you did. as an example this is game turn 7s dice rolls:

    If this were a face to face game id have made you wait longer real time at least 2 game turns however this is an online game and for that reason it moves allot slower than a real time face to face game so for the sake of not having to make you wait out another game turn just to arrive at the apt complex by which time id say most of it would have been over i figured id help you out a bit.

    If this were based on a face to face game you just managed to run 10 city blocks, stopped talked to the shivers outside got a sit rep of whats been happening and then ran up 9 filghts of stairs all in 3 mins.

    Start a new thread for those that are intrested in the mechanics if that is ok with you so that it doesn't ruin the flow of the game but those who want to look under the hood can.

    Actually this brings me to another interesting point i was discussing on my clan forms earlier today. RPG combat on a form. If we did each combat round real time it means a combat encounter could last weeks. Which is why i roll out the entire fight and then post the results. This does really feel very fluid or a good way of running combat since players dont really have any active envolvement in combat.

    Since tba has decided to undergo some bravado of his own combat will be ensuing quite soon. So I figure id throw it out there to the group. does anyone have an ideas how we might run combat? id like to hear your thoughts on the subject.

    Oh and on a final note tba you can only attack one target at a time and while i know you said you were going to attack the carrien and then the leader of the carriens you cant do that in one combat turn. i assume you want to attack the carrien first and then when it is dead move onto the leader?

    Well I wanted to punch the "Carrion King" (as I am calling him) in the face, but I figured his Carrion minions would be in the way. I guess I was more standing on them to get to him.

    hmmm fair enough the carriens are in the way but if you want to you can try a john woo type stylie slo mo action sequence

    i'll allow you to try and jump onto the carrion use it as a springboard to launch yourself AT the carrien king guy and attack him instead. is that kind of what you had planned?

    Well i've just done the dice rolls for you tba, the next game turn is going to be .... interesting to say the least!

    i'm going to enjoy writing the next game turn thats for sure and i havent even gotten around to combat yet!

    Love to squire accept im just waiting on hivemind to post. its grand actually im glad hivemind hasn't posted yet gives me a little time to think about the next game turn as im not really sure how this is going to play out if half the squad engages in combat and the other half ... does nothing.

    it'll be interesting to see what the rest of the squad do once they regain control

    Okey dokey then!! so everyones posted however i'll have to stop writing the game turn for now as im going to have to do something i haven't had to do for a long time.

    I need to consult the SLA sourcebook. which is sitting at my computer desk at home. i'll have to wait until tonight to finish writing the rest of the game turn. sorry but things have gotten a little crazy at the moment and thats only the start of it the rest of the squad are back in play at the end of this turn.

    I have a feeling im going to need to keep an eye on the sourcebook for the next few turns

    i'll say this you all keep me on my toes at least!
