There used to be a 3 litre GTV in Galway, last saw it 8 years ago, and before any Alfa heads say the biggest V6 was a 2.5, this one was a South African import.

Yeah nice GTV. All those Alfas look so much better with the chrome bumpers. The plastic bumpers always looked very clunky and ruined the lines.

Thats a nice black Merc, is it a Coupe ??

I remember reading about the 3.0 cars, there weren't too many of them. Did they have carbs whereas the 2.5s were FI?

Hell, they were like backsides, everyone had one, all FI if I recall.

I'd say at a rough guess that FZV is a Dublin 1985 number but I'll wait for our resident expert carchaeologist to give the precise dates.

(I used to regularly see a Hino tipper truck in my area of Dublin still earning it's keep on HZV plates, Haven't seen it in about 2 years though.

FZV*** was mid may 1985 dublin alright,,HZV*** was late may 1985,that tipper must have had alot of miles done..

Saw a yellow 72 (?) Mercury Comet ( same as Ford Maverick ) off Gracepark rd , ZV reg so it's an import. Nearly bought a rust free one in SaiGon last Feb but when they saw the 'Western' face I think they put a 0 on the wrong end of the price !
Plenty of 60's / 70's cars in VietNam, but like Cuba, they hold their value because import tax is c.500% !!

I would say that was an import in 1985, as the 264 was replaced in 1982 by the 760.

There also appears to be another reg plate screwed on behind the Irish one for some reason.
