That clip reminded me of the time i was on TV @ MTV Dance @ The Ormond Multimedia Centre around 1996, never forget it,basically seen a poster advertising this and asking people to go for auditions for dancing to be part of the crowd, so i went along with some female friends of mine one evening and we got picked, basically the whole thing was to be filmed for MTV from 7.30pm until 10.30pm when it ended and the normal Ormond nite went ahead, i was all excited and told everyone including family that i was gonna be on TV, i got all dressed up as well compared to the usual jeans, runners and t-shirt i usually wore raving.

So the nite kicks off i cant for the life of me remember who was playing but the music was brilliant, there was no yokes to be got and everyone was looking,i had none myself but didn't plan on taking any until then filming had stopped anyway, anyway this bird i know came over to me and said she had 300 doves and was selling them, long story short but anyone who was looking for them i sent them her way, she came over every now and then and handed me a few for sending people her way, i couldn't resist and ended up getting a few into me, ended up i got about 150 probably more sold for her so she gave me a total of 10 yokes for myself and bought me a few drinks, by now id done 6 and was mad out of it, rushing off me tits top off giving it the big one, id completely forgotten about the camera and was having a great nite, ended up doing 9 altogether that nite and was completely mad out of it but had a deadly nite.

I'd more or less forgotten about the programme and i actually missed it when they showed it the following week on MTV, the week after i was after being in The Temple Of Sound and went back to a party and there was a big cheer when i walked in, i didn't know what was going on and everyone was breaking their bollix laughing, someone then pressed play on the video recorder and paused it and showed me with me top off gurning like a mother fcuker eyes like saucers, i was like :o id completely forgotten about the camera being there, the clip only shows me for like 3/4 seconds but i was praying no one from my family would see it, i got some slagging over it that nite, every now and then someone would put the tape in and pause it again:o i looked a right state, luckily for me no one from my family seen it but my ma and uncle did ask me when it was on i told them it was on already but i didn't manage to get on the camera so that was that but if they'd have seen me i can only imagine the shock they would've had:D mad nite, was anyone at this nite?:pac::D

    Hell yeahhh. What a track.

It's like a 1992 "hardcore" breaks version. It's also the version I remember, from tapes of Hellraiser in Belfast.

Been trying to get that video for a long time now:mad:
Few friends of mine are on it , it was a Thursday if i remember correctly, definitely midweek anyway..
One of them has it for sure but reluctant to give to me as he is now way past all the scene and a family now so does'nt want himself all over the net as he is on it with top off giving it loads.
Remember watching it and being disappointed with the way they dubbed the music that was actually played with the party zone hits of the time.
Was not a true reflection of the music of that era in the Ormond ..
Last tune aired was a Blu Peter tune , pictures in your mind which i have been trying to get since..
But was good watching it seeing familiar faces on MTV..

Remember that was on in the Ormonde. My mates brother was trying to get on it.

See they were repeating some of the old MTV Dance Floor Chart there. Russel Brand used to be talking some ****e with people off their trolleys. :D

    Apollonia - Indie

    Apollonia (Original Mix) Me thinks!
    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ywgomnz9i2t

This track reminds me of one night in the Asylum when we conviced the girls we hung around from Kilnamanagh to come down after Sides as they were never in The Asylum.
So in they came about 4 or 5 in the morn and sure enough Apllonia was belting out as they entered the building, well they were well impressed as this is a Sides anthem. But the version that night was one that I haven't heard since. It was a real clubbed up version. Maybe someone will post it up here. They did dig the vibe as the place was hopping mad and in full swing where everywhere else was well closed by that time in Dublin, and neadless to say it wasn't their last appointment in The Asylum.
Funny thing is that night they were dancing by the bannisters around the smaller dance floor downstairs by the back wall with the cool pop bar and stairs facing you and with the Arches to your left (these would be later taken down to make way for a bigger dance area). They never even went through the Arches to sample the much larger dance area. They just thought that dance area was it! Never even mind the other 2 floors above. It was only a couple of weeks later when we were all getting our Official Asylum I.D.'s done that they copped it. Ah well that larger area would be explored before long:D

PS: I have a great Bumble track which I have to root out for yall!

You can save your time trawling back through page after page if you want by downloading the archive of the thread i put up a few pages back here...

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=58285269&postcount=4676

When you have this downloaded this you open the folder entitled 'ASYLUM' & use the Search function on your PC to search within this folder....once selected click advanced search options to Search for 'A word or Phrase' in the files within this folder & it will give back results for all pages containg this word......Example i ran a search for all files that contained the word 'Parsley' & it gave me back results,
    Page: 48, 52, 60, 66, 78, 81, 93, 94, 146, 221, 237, 304.
This took approx 1 min to complete....hope this helps all info for setting up the thread on your PC is contained within the link to the post i made.....if you need any help just shout.;)

I don't suppose anyone would have "Casanova" by Baby D, - the track that The Prodigy sampled in "Break And Enter" ??

Such a great track. There were several versions AFIR, but their DNB version that they played live was killer.

Another early Jungle track I used to love was "Sweet Love" by M Beat.

Any of you remember the large mirror in the back corridor upstairs on the balcony in the Olympic. It was directly behind the Lazer lights set up. There you would go to check to see if your eyes were like saucers. The impatience was unbelievable, 'Am I up yet'. Goofing into the mirror. Even if you didn't feel a thing, if your pupils were big that was good enough, a rush would soon follow. There would be loads of people at the same trick. Then you would talk shi.te to the guy who controlled the lazers, he was a dry sh.ite.
The view from that spot was unreal, especially when the hall was dark and the green and blue lazers would scan the large hall like search lights through the clouds of smoke being pumped out ino the Olympic:p
I should really snap out of it:D

Here is a track you would take in whilst hanging over the balcony taking it all in, a great track from the proper early days in the Ballroom and if you weren't there you probably wouldn't believe that this track was banged out week in week out.

    The Prodigy - Jerico

Did they ever play Music Reach? -I used to love that track. Thought it was one of their best

Mad, I don't remember the mirror and I would always be up on the balcony for a few laps on a mission and would deffo stop and look down on the dance floor when the green laser was going, used to love as it moved up/down the dance floor and you would catch glimpses of all these green faces through the smoke.

I must dig out the Prodigy Experience, "Death of a Prodigy Dancer" was my fav, always hoped to hear it when i was in the Ballroom.

Also mad about the Altern 8 Full On Masked Hysteria album, some classic stuff on that:)

    Cheers,
    Mick

Handy to have it as i did a search for pages with 'Pat hyland' in them cause i remember Caf mentioning his name about this issue & found it in about 2 mins:D
On that subject here is the latest copy of the 'KEYDIRECTORY' file updated to page 320......

    http://www.mediafire.com/?jkztnjwuzn4

I would reccommend downloading it anyway if your on a dial up.....it will be slow but you should be able to get it.....once you have it down you have to start saving the pages into the 'ASYLUM' folder yourself to keep the thread up to date as this file:rolleyes: is only to navigate the thread....the longer you leave it the more pages you will have to add to the folder.....i uploaded it with 311 pages included & it is up at 321 already.....
Top left of your screen when on the thread click 'File' & 'Save as' & then save them in the 'ASYLUM THREAD' folder to keep it up to date;)
