I'm not strictly a teen (because I'm now 20) but I do work part time while I'm in university. Have been working since I was 15 and still in school. Always loved having my own money/independence.

Not sure if i'll be able to work next year when I'm in my final year of college. I'd like to, but it might be too much on top of all my projects and coursework. Will have to wait and see..

I worked the Summer just gone, and am still living on that money really! Sort near the end now though :( (Seriously work for the government for the Summer! :D)

In sixth year now so I'm not getting a job, because I have to study... only I haven't done much of that so I'd probably be better off working, but sure, studying is my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Very few of my year work though, to be honest... seems to just be the people funding cars!

Meh, I'm 16, plenty of time for work yet! ;)

I worked during 4th and 5th year, and all through last Summer, so I have enough money to last me this year. Though if I get the course I want in college I probably wont have any time to work =/

Don't work as such, just study football while I'm meant to be studying and risk my weeks money on my study

Worked for a bit last summer until I was let go :( Didn't bother looking for another job as it was July and I hadn't a hope of getting one at that late stage! Too busy this year, dunno how some people manage to balance the Leaving with part time work!

I'm sixtheen and got to work in a ****ty hardware store with a tit of a boss. 5.50 an hour doing hard work. I should have said he tried to molest me so I could at least make a few bob but I just couldn't have been arsed with all the hard work. Most teens are lazy fcuks when it comes to work.

Back in my day......... Ohhh Woops

A bit less of that "should have said he molested me" stuff please, we don't take kindly to jokes about paedophilia here. Do take time to read the charter.

Work during the summers, used to do the odd weekend during school, never worked in college, the grant has always done. It's been very tight this year though. If I'd known this damn recession was coming I wouldn't have taken June off work to go on the tear in Tenerife :(

By any chance do you know Hans?

Back on topic, I used to do a local paper round, for about three years, but I gave that up before the Leaving Cert.
I worked in an Irish college over the summer for 6 weeks, that was interesting.

I'm 17, worked in Dunnes in Douglas there last Summer (16 at the time). Very nice people to work for. The work itself was boring though, as you can imagine. Sweeping floors for three hours a night five nights a week. Made some nice dosh though. Wouldn't mind trying to get back in next Summer, though with the way things are going I'd say I'll find it hard to get it.
