If your a irish rugby fan surely you would want to see all the provences do well? Why wouldn't you support munster when they provide the pack for ireland?

If you can change teams when the going gets tough, whats the point? Dont try to hide the fact you love hopping on and off at any available opportunity, supporting means your on for life. If you weren't a bandwagoner you would understand.

Some support AFC Wimbledon, some support MK Dons.

In fairness I started supporting United in 94/95. Knew a fair few Blackburn supporters back then.

And yeah, most Pool fans are about say... 5 or more years older. Which seems to coincide with their dominance. And yeah, supporting United is easy, but so's supporting Pool Chelsea or Arsenal. At the time I identified most with United because they had Irish players and Cantona. I'd say a lot of youngsters would;ve started supporting Sunderland what with all the Irish players and the Irish managers. It's sad that it's easier to identify with an English team than you're local team but ah well.

Because a rivalry between two Premiership teams is far greater than that between two clubs that may meet on the off chance every 5 years.

By all means support Arsenal and Altrincham.

Emmmm there is only one League of Ireland, hence my use of capitals in the name. It refers to an official title bestowed on the league by the FAI.

Ronaldo is not bigger than United. Everyone, including Fergie knows that. If he was so much hassle he would be out the door. The fact is Ronaldo has said this week he is more than happy to be at United. Why would Fergie argue with that?

People who support Liverpool and Celtic.
You see, they support Celtic (soft "C") because they are (or were) the Catholic club in Glasgow, but what few of them realise is that there was once a similar situation in Liverpool with LFC being the Protestant club and Everton being the Catholic club.
Most of these people cannot tell the difference between Catholic beliefs and Protestant beliefs and have not seen the inside of a church (apart from the obligatory weddings, funerals and Christenings) in many years.
