UT2004, because then it's not weird to spend a night being gangraped by burly men with big weapons.......

The Lich King was an entity created by Kil'jaeden the Deceiver from the spirit of the orcish shaman Ner'zhul. Initially trapped within the Frozen Throne, the Lich King eventually merged with the human Arthas Menethil and they became the new Lich King. He is the creator of the Scourge and rules over it telepathically from his throne atop the Icecrown Glacier.

The Lich King is the main antagonist in the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

    Fairly self-explanatory imo :pac:

WoW itself is set up to be addictive, its not like any other game that has a defined ending or limits on what you can do. WoW is ever changing and adapting to ensure that there is no possible ending, no sense of completion, there is always something more to do, or at least it makes you feel like you have to.

Yeah, because Counter Strike, Battlefield, Team Fortress and just about every single other multiplayer game out there had endings?

Hey, I've just completed Battlefield... oh no, there's another round! I've not completed it all! It's a trap, a neverending cycle, like an addiction. Ah, they've just added a new map, there are no limits to this game, oh woe is me, shall I ever be free of the shackles of Battlefield? Wakka wakka wakka. :pac:

MMORPGS can be addictive as hell, and can really stop people from living their lives, putting off everything just to keep playing the game, as there really is no end, it can go on for years.

Thats not to say everyone has this problem but a LOT of people do.

You hear stories from asia or usa where people neglect their children, or die during a mmo-binge from no sleep or food.

As for the weed thing, a lot of people in wow or any game nowadays seem to play stoned.

Ironic Wreck that you insult me for my thinking capacity and my bs posts when yours make no sense at all.

I believe the original question stemmed around '3-4 hours per day' of playing the game, so saying 'are you addicted to animal porn' with the answer 'no' doesnt indicate denial as you said. However if you are intelligent you might note that if someone watched 3-4 hours of animal porn a day you would indeed say they were addicted and would indeed be in denial if they said 'no'.

Level of thinking on my behalf again, you compare working 8-10 hours a day to 3-4 hours playing, that makes no sense, work is a requirement, the game is not, theres a world of difference. 3-4 hours per day (which for people who work full days is practically their entire evening) spent playing a game, by choice, instead of socialising, in my opinion is an addiction and i speak from experience.

Someone else said other games like CS, Battlefield have no ending. Literally thats true, but again if you use intelligence you would see the difference again. WoW constantly updates the armor, raids, arenas etc so even if you collect all of one set you are forced to do it over and over again and whats more you simply cannot log on and do most of these things by yourself as with other games like CS, you need a group, hence the social spiders web. Not many other games have this level of constant involvement, CS, Battlefield you can stop for a while and come back, You try that with WoW and your character is outdated and you can't do any of the new game, it forces you to keep current and that requires lots of time and effort.

Again, bull****. I'm starting to wonder if you've played the game at all? The level cap was at 70 when I started playing, and when I hit that, I got all my gear, and that gear had still been used on my character for months. There was no "Constant involvement" to keep my character up to date, I had my PVP gear, that was it. Coming back a week later, and a month later, and my character is still on par with the rest.

Let me try and keep this simple. Contrary to your conclusions in a previous post:
    1) Denying that you are addicted does not mean you are in fact addicted.
    2) Length of time spent doing something does not mean you are addicted to that activity.

Just because you used a computer game to fill the hole that is your life does not mean that everyone is like this. Nor does it mean there is anything wrong with computer games in general, or this computer game in particular. WoW did not cause your problems, you are responsible for your own actions.

    Who the hell cares?

If someone likes playing a game, then let them play it.

    - Playing WoW or other games for 3-4 hours per day
    - Getting stoned for 3-4 hours per day
    - Browsing the internet for 3-4 hours per day
    - Watching arbitrary, shíte television for 3-4 hours per day
    - **** for 3-4 hours per day

... I fail to see how any of these things is any better or worse for you than any of the others, in the grand scheme of things...

Big difference if you have a major grudge against one of them

That 3 - 4 hours a day ****, would that be a continous **** now or spread out over the day ?

I blame Sellafield anyway for the Irish begrudgery.

It depends on how you space out each fap

*fap*...*fap*...*fap*...*fap*... could last you all day whereas *fapfapfapfapfapfapfapfap* would be over quickly, albeit with a raw todger

Good stuff, good stuff...bit of a long time though really, even if those faps are slowed down intentionally to pace yourself, 3 - 4 hours, damn that'd be an awful lot to unload. I'm just not sure I could fap away for four hours, and play Wow for four hours, and get stoned for four hours and ffs also watch shíte tv and browse the interwebs for four hours, all at the same time.

I'll give it go later maybe as a science project and report back on the results.

ill take weed over WoW anyday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

WoW is more like cigarettes I'd say. Addictive but sh*t aint fun.

CS is like weed, keeps you playing but it's fun.

Smash Bros Melee is the MDMA of the bunch, you have a great night with your close mates but you can't do it to often because life gets in the way.

    - Playing WoW or other games for 3-4 hours per day

MMORPG players aren't gamers imo. You wouldn't invite WoW players to the WCG/CPL/your house because they're such boring bastards.

    - Getting stoned for 3-4 hours per day

    It's a lifestyle.

    - Browsing the internet for 3-4 hours per day

Beneficial if you're browsing educational things.

    - Watching arbitrary, shíte television for 3-4 hours per day

    Just as pointless.

    - **** for 3-4 hours per day

You'd last an age in bed and you'd probably lose a lot of weight too...
