You need to have stimpacks, its not so bad though as one stimpack fully heals him you just need to be close to him apply it which sometimes means running into a horde of enemies and doing it.

Had a ton of stimpacks, guess I just wasn't close enough to him.

Ah well, his corpse yielded some dog meat, so the thought that in a way he's still with me wherever I go, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Although I guess that could be the irradiated meat.

Walking the wastelands and a few innocent things happened that turned me, Simms was giving me the keys to my house when i accidently shot him. had to lay waste to the entire town then as they kept coming :(

Was just chatting to the outcast leader and hit the wrong phrase, had to lay waste to the entire fort as they kept coming :(

Tenpenny, Dave, Bigtown, GNR, Vault 101, pretty much everywhere has been layed waste too. Wondering if its possible to kill every single grown up in the game

They were innocent things now im uber evil sometimes ne-er do well, and a lot of very very evil.

Going to get to level 20 and then lay waste to the enclave and the citadel.

    They're not really spoilers.

    Was looking for info on a forum and read this (don't think its really a spoiler, but I'll cover it just in case;
I found out an interesting thing about the AI of NPC. The two ghouls Murphy and his guard in Northwest Seneca Station like alcohol! If I drop a bottle of beer/volka/wine..etc within their sight (including the locker near the door), they will go and pick it up. After a while, they will sit down and drink it! Apperantly, NPC has their own perference and will *pick up* thing on the ground when they see it.

    I love this game!

Bit of a technical question - I'm playing on low settings, since that's what the game detected I should be on. Tried pushing it up to medium, but it's a bit slow when turning, so left it on low.

Then a bunch of raiders materialised all around me and whupped my ass. Had a look at the settings, realised 'Actor Fade' was basically at zero (and all the other Fade settings), so I couldn't see anything until they were right on top of me. Set it to about halfway, reloaded, could see enemies a decent distance away. Fine.

Next day I started playing, same thing happened again. All the Fade setting seemed to reset to zero. Is there any way of saving your settings? Or any recommendations for .ini file changes?

In non-technical news, I realised yesterday after about 10 hours playing that holding down [tab] turns on your torch. Was thinking it was a bit dark!

It should stick after you change your settings and click "apply". it should remain like that from then on out. maybe you have to untick some tick box like "use recommended settings"

also torch boy, did you try pressing "T" yet!? epic!

This might be of some help to you; Tweak Guide to Fallout 3. As the engine is Oblivions, the same tips apply.

    That's Walter, isn't it?

I came back once, he wasn't there. Found him outside once, another time he was downstairs inside (hadn't noticed there was a downstairs) - they do wander round the town a bit sometimes.

Selling pre-war books, that's a goldmine. Doubly so ammo for weapon types you don't use; I made an absolute fortune from selling flamer fuel & missiles as I'm not a "big guns" player (plus ammo doesn't weigh you down).

ive 8k caps burning a hole in my pocket, i really wish the had the option like in Fallout 2 to buy a retro car, if i remember right you could even run over people in it, and store things in the boot. it was great

cant remember how they got around the petrol thing, think the car was modified to run on energy cells

yeah tell me about it, i got 14K burning a hole in my pocket and i could easily sell some stuff to bump it up to 20K if i had the need for it.

Im after getting my head wrecked by NPCs that were supposed to be following me -eventually they started fleeing from me and going out the doors. After following them through the doors they'd turn back around and go back through again.

    AI is dissapointing tbh.

Sorry to butt in here but didn't really want to start a new thread on this.

I didn't ever really get into Oblivion (PC), never really gave it a chance maybe....am I going to hate Fallout3?
The whole premise behind the game appeals to me a lot...I've not played any of the rest of the series though and I'm not all that much into RPGs on the whole, but I get the feeling I might enjoy this...so yay or nay in your opinion?
xb360 BTW if that makes a difference...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

Although there are a lot of similarities, it doesn't feel like oblivion. What didn't you like about oblivion? If you didn't like the openness of it, then this is going to be similar, but a little smaller. I would definitely play oblivion on PC for the vast set of mods but, for the moment, fallout 3 doesn't seem to have any mods I would consider essential (Bethesda got rid of a lot of the stupid things that needed to be modded and there hasn't been a construction set released), so the console should be ok.

I haven't played the others in the series but still enjoy it. If you think you like if from a few youtube videos (try to avoid spoiler ones) then go for it.

Supposedly there's been a few reported cases of him found behind the likes of the clinic after falling to his death, which I suspect happened in my case.

Its after happening again to me - Sienna whats her name (Head of the regulators is after vanishing out of Regulator HQ now. Which is kind of annoying I have 100's of fingers to sell off to her. I wanted the karma boost :(

    So thats -
    Walter
    Moriarty
    Sienna

    So far.

It's going to take a while to get into and until you start levelling up a few times and getting good at certain skills you will find it a little frustrating. When I started out I had bugger all ammo because it would take a rake of bullets to down an enemy - now I have a good gun skill so three or four bursts does the trick.

Its an investment of time but completely worth the return imo.
