I used to frequent this pub, and spent an awful lot of money there. After being away for 6 months, I returned again to be told, "don;t you remember I barred you?!!". I thought it was a joke and laughed, but he shook his head and I was getting no drink. He then escorted me off the premises. I was never barred at all though! I asked what month did you bar me and he could not even answer, it was a lie!

Are you sure you didn't black-out when you "spent an awful lot of money there" one night and did something awful you can't remember?

You was barred from Tomangoes by a new kid of a bouncer because he put his hands on me and pushed me at closing time. I was 17 drunk and roared abuse at him for putting his hands on me. Fecker wouldnt let me in for about 6 months. Grew out of my Tomangoes buzz at about 19 thank fuck.

The best thing you can do in this situation is to go back in screaming and shouting. Explain very clearly and very loudly exactly what you think of the barman and his premesis.

Then refuse to leave until the boys in blue arrive.

Have you considered some sort of disguise? Like a false moustache or something?

I never got rotten drunk there! I'm a slow-moderate drinker. hmmmm the boys in blue would take his word over mine....has he the right to do this?

I believe so, as far as I know they can refuse the right of admission to anyone they like. I'm obviously no expert though, never having been barred from a pub.

I was told I was barred from the local hotel/nite club years ago. The guy who initially told me I was barred let me skip the queue into the club 6 days later.

Gold fish memory can come in handy with some people.

So you've never been back since that night...... 6 months...im thinking you thrashed the place for them to still remember you.

Either that or it's a very very quiet pub.

Pubs lurve big spendaz like yerself., generally hate muppets though. Were you one?..seriously?

Yes, if he can show that you, on a previous visit were a nuisance and or causing such a disturbance that you are possible still a risk to the present public/staff.
You could ask him to prove this but by the time you even get the words out to ask, you will probably be thrown out anyway by the bouncers and ignored!

    Thats the sad truth.

I arrived in my local one day and was told that I had been barred because of "video evidence". Apparently the manager was very concerned about my behaviour the previous weekend.

I was shocked for two reasons. One I'm not usually a bad drunk and two I was in Spain the previous weekend. The bar man was quite resolved not to allow me drink - I explained my reasoning for about 10 minutes and he wasn't having any of it. The manager then arrived, took one look at me and said I wasn't the one he'd been talking about.

Still confused as to why the bar man was convinced it was me...

Thats easy, the barman was a lazy idiot, too quick in judgement, not checking the actual evidence enough. Fair play to the manager.

Were you lead there by some dodgy men who were touting you as a whore and then threatened a very drunk boardsie for dancing with you... And were you getting younger as the night progressed?

You should try it some time.

Between the ages of 18 and 21 I was barred from every pub in this town.
Lots of young, drunk chicks down by the river.

I've been barred from hundreds of pubs. When i was in my 20's there were about two pubs in dublin that would serve me.We usually got barred for bringing our own drink in,smoking spliffs or being ridiculously pissed but once i got barred from a night club for fingering a bird on the dancefloor.

Liffey I would imagine. Unless he's reffering to another "this town" in his post.
