I'm playing as a completely evil charachter and loving it I plan to shoot daddy in the face if I meet him (no, I don't have issues ;) )

I have bounty hunters after me because I am such a scourge. That 3dogs says nasty things about me but I intend paying him a little visit...

It the little things I love in this game. When I was back at Tenpenny Towers but this time, to shoot Mr. Tenpenny in the head for a client, he was shooting (people?) from the balcony with a sniper rifle a la Schindlers List. Unfortunately my Karma took a hit when I killed him (it went up). Never mind.

This is probably going to sound stupid but I only figured out last night that you can pick stuff up and carry it (e.g bodies). Nothing better than killing a load of people and throwing their bodies down stairwells or leaving the arms and legs in weird places :D

I love this game, but i'm a little worried i might have to start it all over again.
Met the enclave in their base, killed them all and next on the quest list i have to report back to the citadel
but the game just freezes everytime i enter the room with the quest character, can't remember his name now. I tried it loads of times different ways but it keeps freezing. By freezing i mean i can move my head around but nothing else works. Anyone else have this problem? I have the 360 version.

What are people's thoughts on the best quests and locations in the games?
I finished it yesterday, but took a fairly direct path through; didn't explore much or do many optional quests.
The most entertaining side quest I did do was probably
getting rid of the battling superheroes
The best reward I got was very probably
the android's plasma rifle in the blade runner quest. Combining that with high energy weapons skill and the sniper perk made fighting pretty easy near the end

I don't think you have to finish the main quest at that point. They give a big sense of urgency but really you could continue indefinitely before finishing it.

I had a great moment when my PC lagged or bugged out, I don't know, but I hired the whore in Moriarty's bar, and got into the bed with her. When I woke, I got a message saying "You are no longer well rested"

A few moments later got "You are well rested", but it was hilarious nonetheless.

    Some questions;

How do I get schematics for the bench? Do I buy them from a trader or find them out in the wastes?

I'm doing one of the first quests (delivering a letter from the girl in the salon) got to the bit
where I'm looking for the "Family" gang
, but I'm finding it difficult at level 3. Did people find they had to bring their level up early on to complete quests? While searching in one of the 3 locations in was fighting a raider and had to shot him 12 times at point blank to put him down (using a .32 while high firearms scores) – seems a little hard.

    Nothing amazing here:

I have killed every single person I have interacted with.

    All of Megaton
    All Of Tenpenny Tower
Every guard I could find in Vault 101
    Everyone in Springvale
Every trader, raider, dog, fly, super mutant, brotherhood of steel paladin, robot, ant and mirelurk I have seen.

    I am level 7.

Have you played the originals? Its an RPG remember, you get a hell of a lot more XP for completing quests than just playing a post-nuclear dirty harry.

Did anyone just go around killing the slavers rather than hunting red and the others,Cause 1; its a lot of effort and Red is a good doctor and has supplies etc....Does killing anyone inside Paradise Falls affect anything major later on??

I pure did the same thing... three parentheses to get to a location was too many

uninstalled this after 10 minutes, didn't grab me at all, having to go into the pimp thing to switch weapons is enough to turn me off, haven't they heard of the scroll wheel, graphics werent great as mentioned, the world just didn't seem real at all, just like some badly generated images of buildings dumped on a flat ground, going to try hells highway

How did you get outside the vault in 10 minutes?? There is absolutly no way you could get a proper feel for the game in 10 minutes.

He does have a valid point regarding switching weapons. I know it's supposed to be more rpg than fps but having to browse menus so often completely kills the flow of gameplay. Hell, even Oblivion had shortcuts.

With the amount of weapons and the fact that you can have more then 1 of a single type that would be even more confusing.

Well its not going to be everyones cup of tea. I'm surprised that as many people have gotten into it, what with games getting more 'mainstream' in there appeal. It requires an investment of time and mental energy to get a return. If you've played nothing but TF2 lately you would be jarred at the task at hand.

you can assign hotkeys to weapons

Stop using the .32. It's a piece of crap and does no damage.

fallout has shortcuts, good thing the game didnt come with instructions though, knowing theyre there really messes up the game

qft. assault rifle is the weapon of choice for the early game. spiced with a backup combat shotgun for point blank headshots on super mutants

No offense moosejam, but 2 things got me:

1)10 minutes is hardly fair time to appraise a game with 100 hours of gameplay (about 20 for the main quest).

2)There are shortcut keys for the weapons. Even so, and its been said 100 times, its an RPG, don't judge it solely on its shooting, there is so much more to this game.

But in the end everyone is entitled to their opinion. Maybe play it for a day and see if you enjoy it more, it would be a shame to pass up the experience.

yup as the other person said you can hot key most items..and your a bit picky if thats the only thing turning ya off the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭OctavarIan

I will eat my words, I did not know it had shortcuts :D

For the record I love this game. When it comes to looking for faults I am forced to be picky. That's a good thing.

Why oh why can't I shoot the residents of little lamplight. Never have any characters deserved it so much.

The only thing I am missing from Oblivion is the way you increased the skills; in Oblv. you had to use the skills (actually sprint to increase your Agility, sneak about the place to up that skill etc), whereas here you just arbitrarily assign more points every time you level up. A pity, but then that's why the mods will be there :D

This game could have done with a bit of child killing and sex imo. This is the explanation from Bethesda.
