Yep did the exact same thing last night. Went and found galaxy radio afterwards and still got the completed quest message and the next one thankfully.

Anyone know how to go about capturing flak in rivet city

as a slave - anytime I mezz him the whole of rivet city attacks me. Even when I do it in a closed room where I cant be seen. I didnt have this problem capturing Red and Susan.

Not sure how long I've been playing it.

I'm level 6, I have 100/100 in melee weapons and close enough to 100 in small weapons. Aiming to max out explosives and small weapons.

It's a great game, one of the best shooters/rpg's I have every played. KOTOR is my favourite game ever so this is perfect for me. Loved Mass Effect too.

Had no idea bottlecaps = $$$ :P Stupid future!

Killed Jericho, Moriarty and wired the bomb to blow in Megaton.

Went to Tenpenny Tower and set off the bomb. Then killed Burke and Tenpenny himself. Killed every resident of Tenpenny tower including all the guards.

Went to the Train station nearby and kill Roy Philips and all his friends. Wen back to Tenpenny Tower and kill the ghouls in the basement.

Faced buckets of Super mutants (including the SM Brutes with the miniguns). The flamer rocks

Since then I have been wandering, found some stupid kid who was being attacked by fire ants, chose not to help him and he kept running around in circles trying to escape the ants. They soon turned to concentrate on me, the kid approaches to talk to me and he is completely immune to bullets, they just go through him though he has no important purpose in the game! Seriously ****ing stupid, if he is in the game I should be able to at least shoot him. Why make it so open ended that I can beat people to death with a lead pipe but children are immune to them?! I don't mind not killing certain people, but at least make it credible as to why I can't, instead of just making them inexplicably immune to my attacks. It instantly reminded me of the stupid crap they put into Oblivion like "XXX is knocked unconscious" instead of "XXX has a gaping head wound".

I'm really liking the gunfights in this. Multiple V.A.T.S targets seem to turn every fight into this John Woo style masterpiece

I played the first one briefly a few weeks ago ad quickly found out that caps = $. I don't think this game made any connection between "** caps" and bottlecaps. Genuinely.

I've been playing this a good few hours now, up to level 7. Few questions.

WHere are the friends? I remember in the original fallout games I had a little band of friends not too far into the game.

Somebody mentioned having 100 in gun skill at level 6, how did they do that? Just assign all their points to one skill?

There are friends in certain specific locations, but it's not party based in the way of the earlier games.

Got a wierd bug on the xbox version yesterday..When i was in V.A.T.S mode all i could do was select the body part of the target couldnt exit out or anything..had to reset it:(...Also anyone finding the compass a bit hard to read at times???.
Also with regards to npc's and karma

Seen as Jericho will only join if i have low karma are there other players out there that will join i i have high karma??

I'm in some railway tunnels near the playground where the super mutants had the female captive (for reference). The only enemies are Mirelurks and a lot of radiation (unavoidable rad exposure) mostly. I have 100/100 melee weapons and I am using The Shocker (power fist). I also have a flamer, minigun, both shotguns, hunting rifle, scoped Magnum, sniper rifle, pistols, laser pistol, assault rifles etc and I am still having trouble killing the mirelurks. I have a very high endurance but I'm out of stimpacks. The mirelurks keep butting me and I don't seem to have any time to pick them off before they get into melee range. The biggest issue is the larger Mirelurks cutting me in half before I can kill them. Even at full HP I am down to 25% after three or four of them.

yeah there is a high karma only paladin from the brotherhood of steel later

im loving this game, its pretty hectic when the enclave appear

Nearly cried when I found out how much you can hand in pre-war books for just now... Must've sold 20 of them to traders so far:o

Save them up until you get to the Arlington Library

sugar bombs for 30 caps each to a ghoul making super jet
and
scrap metal in megaton for 10 or twenty caps per

Found my first major bug
in Big Town

After you rescue red and the other person and help them defend themselves i choose to help them build the robots but sadly there not there..from a google search it seems its a common glitch..supposedly it happends when you fast travel back to big town

Yep that happened to me as well, so i

simply told them how to sneak, and when the mutants came i just picked them off myself

Fawkes is the best buddie to have around, me and fawkes with Gatlins have wiped out most of everything bad. he only joins you if you have high karma.

You have to shoot them in the face, everywhere else is armoured.

Played the first few hours during the week and definitely a far better game than I expected having played Oblivion. The atmosphere is stunning (first perusal of the wasteland is amazingly eerie), the combat visceral (although I don't like melee VATs as much) and runs far better (Oblivion was dreadful for bad frame rates and loading - not nearly as intrusive here). Will be taking a back seat for a few days to get through GoW2, but looking foward to playing more.

What spec you running?
Nothing worse than claims gfx suck only to find out the opinion was formed on a lowly pc.

Not saying this is the case with you mind you

GFX look very nice to me and im running a high end rig and comparing its gfx to the latest visuals from farcry2 etc.
Same for the 360 version, friends cant believe how well some 360 games look on my monitor compared to their TV.
If your running a console version what are you displaying it on?

Strictly Business-Paradise Falls

Did anyone just go around killing the slavers rather than hunting red and the others,Cause 1; its a lot of effort and Red is a good doctor and has supplies etc....Does killing anyone inside Paradise Falls affect anything major later on??

Captured Red from the Police station when doing the Big Trouble in Big Town Mission so ended up not being able to beat that mission without freeing her

Captured Flak & Susan

Went to P. Falls and did most of the mission to free the kids, due to low speech skills I couldnt get forty away from the gate so they could sneak away though (Regardless of how much booze and mentats I consumed to raise my stats).

So, I got mad and massacred the people there (Take down the guy with the minigun in the tower first to make things easier on yourself).

You get good karma for killing named slavers such as Eulogy Jones.

If you don't finish the Strictly business mission before you kill the slavers you cant afterwards obviously.

As far as I can make out Cutter (Doctor) and Pronto (Gun Dealer) are still alive after the massacre so the side quest of bringing the Chinese Assault Rifles to Pronto isnt affected either

When everyone was dead freed the kids and the other slaves, met the kids outside for access to little lamplight and then took red home to finish out that mission.

Two of the slavers carry super sledges so make sure you pick those up before leaving

The game is really growing on me, I wasnt mad about it at first but once you get into it its great.

Anyone else find the Ripper Chainsaw Sword

Dogmeat met his demise in Paradise falls. He kept getting in my way anyway and i was sick of wasting stimpacks on him.
