Poor Niel, he is unhappy and angry !! :p

im goint to say 5, just married my best friend and the love of my life :D, new house that I love, good bit of cash in the bank, we both have steady, well paid jobs and family and friends are all well so cant complain about anything really.

Neil, people who say that there happy all the time necessarily have to be happy happy all the time. Many just embrace all of their emotions such as hate fear love, its all part of the experience. A ****ty day usually turns out to be a good day after a while... I nearly burst a nut falling off a wall onto a pole, not happy at the time or for the weeks surrounding but people spit out their pints with laughter when I tell the story. I'm happy it happened :)

I have cancer, but I am happy.

I am not happy about having cancer, but I can still be happy with my daily life.

I have never had less money, it is a year since I have worked, but I am still happy, money does not make us happy.

I have days where I feel quite low, but a hug from one of my kids will soon bring a smile back to my face.

I believe that happiness is a choice we make.

I'm a 4 - got a great girlfriend, good gang of mates, and plenty of exciting hobbies and collegework to keep me busy. Me and some friends are going to Japan next summer to travel around and explore the wonderful country, and am celebrating anniversary with gf in London in January. College work going great at the mo aswell.

Why am I not a 5? Perhaps I'm a bit too over-ambitious. I need more €s :p I'll be fine, but have to save very carefully. And find a way to inject an extra few hours into a day.

I'm a 4 at the moment, just started my first job and I'm happy to have my own money, i'm still living at home so I'm not paying major bills which allows me to buy a few things i've wanted for a long time without putting the burden on my parents' pocket. My friends are great too so I've no problems there ! Finding time to fit everything I want to do during the weekend and week day can be hard cause of the shifts I'd work.

I'm in a great relationship with an amazing girl, i'd be very happy if I could see her often. She lives in Cork and i'm up here in Dublin so it can be hard, still, it gives me something to look forward to though :)

Moderate to Mild westerly gust of happiness with showers of depression in the afternoon. Clearing later for a cool night of acceptance and comfort with a band of low meloncholy moving in from the eastern seaboard before morning.

    Goodnight.

Indeed. But you weren't happy at the time, hence you're not happy all of the time. It just gets my goat people saying that with their big "look at me" grin! :P

I do agree that we should always look on the bright side of life.

Money does not make you happy.

Material possessions do not make you happy.

For me happiness comes from your relationships with others and the comfort you feel in your own skin.

Strong 4 - good friends, health and fitness. Planning for 09 - new job ready in Feb, going away for a few weeks in January. Have plenty of €€ in the bank. Is that the sun I see shining outside??

Where's the option for being on so many pills that you're apathetic?

Different poll, the answer you need is that you are on the wrong pills dude.

    Somewhere between 2 & 3[and not 2.5]

Work is fine, home is fine, personal life not so much but can't do anything about it as it's outta my hands. Can be annoying sometimes is all.

    I said a 2! Feeling a quite blue atm.

Dropped out of college. Horribly unemployed and just can't seem to get a job. Fantastic boyfriend, fantastic friends who I don't see nearly enough of.

Not the end of the world though. It's all good. 'Tis just a rough patch.

You should have put in a self destruct button or an ejector seat

Without meaning to sound condescending don't get hung up on the dropped out of college issue. I dropped out twice!!!

It can take some time to find what you really want to do and then it can take even longer to find the balls to go for it.

You're a smart lass, keep your head together and you'll be looking back in a couple of months remembering when you felt down from a nice happy haze.:)

I'm a 2... mainly because of quite a few things that aren't going very well. I am very stressed, and feel rather trapped at times.

But Happy121 really put things into perspective. I am in fact rather ashamed to be troubled by my trivial problems. As a worrier it will be a long journey, but I will pick myself up.

    Thanks to Happy121

Watching people die live on tv didn't affect your happy state? I'm just saying that it's next to impossible to be happy all of the time!

To those who voted 5; you haven't actually won the Florida State Lottery - that was just a ruse to get your credit card details.

    I'm a 4.

Job is okay, great craic but I want more money. Today is Friday and it's payday, we're heading for drinks after work. It's my birthday tomorrow and I'll be heading out with the lads for a mighty session.

I bought my first car two days ago and am enjoying driving. I'm going away on a holiday in about five days time.

No women folk but that can be sorted out with a bit of charm. Life is good.

Would just like a more enjoyable job

Nah, I'm not really. I had to drop out, I would've gone mad doing a course I didn't like for the next 3 years. I made the right decision for myself. It's just the crippling boredom sometimes!

And reliance on the parents after being independent for most of last year and the summer is a pain in the ass! The nagging to get a job when I'm trying my best is ridiculously upsetting. I'm driving my poor boyfriend mad crying to him all the time over this!
