I ordered stuff from the UK as most people do I also use Adverts and post on units and sometime I get stuff by post .I say sometime as to date 3 units are lost and a packet that was sent from the UK was opened and the two models removed from it .I didn't take it in someone else did soon as I see it I knew .I did ring the GPO to find out what to do about the missing and opened packet all I got off that one gimp was if they had open it would have there tape on it not the brown tape that was on my one I asked then the tape they use to close the packet was it to tell the other postal staff that it had already been robbed from I hung up on that gimp and rang back to another person who told me to get a M58 form and fill it in and send it to them so they can look into it .I looked at the from online and standard post you have no come back no money back the stuff from the UK was £21 how do I get that back .I got in touch with the people in England to sort out not sure what's going to happen . I know Xmas is nearly here and money doesn't grow on tree's but you have to hand it to these people easy picking all year round and before the do gooders jump in with not all are like that in Anpost yes there is good and bad every where but I do not see them taking my bills .Everyone that use Anpost is an easy mark you use reg post to have a record of the post but it can still go missing and again more money to a place that over charges you any way it can .Feel free to defend a place that has no competition in Ireland .

not for a birthday card with 20 euro in it .ffs you should feel safe posting a birthday card
btw why is this thread posted twice ......afraid one will go missing :D

TWICE we've gotten birthday cards in a little An Post envelope with one of the corners of the original envelope neatly ripped off and the contents (cash) removed. We've told the senders so they know better now. An Post took the complaint but never followed up. What a surprise.

    It is what it's.

never had a problem with An Post (touch wood), and have seen BBC documentaries on widespread theft in the Royal Mail.

If you are familiar with "post", it is very easy to pick out certain items.

My credit card company post there monthly statements in envelopes that could be spotted a mile off. (must get on to them about it... but doubt they would listen)

Sorry to hear your stuff did not turn up.. but dont fancy your chances of getting it sorted....
