I ordered stuff from the UK as most people do I also use Adverts and post on units and sometime I get stuff by post .I say sometime as to date 3 units are lost and a packet that was sent from the UK was opened and the two models removed from it .I didn't take it in someone else did soon as I see it I knew .I did ring the GPO to find out what to do about the missing and opened packet all I got off that one gimp was if they had open it would have there tape on it not the brown tape that was on my one I asked then the tape they use to close the packet was it to tell the other postal staff that it had already been robbed from I hung up on that gimp and rang back to another person who told me to get a M58 form and fill it in and send it to them so they can look into it .I looked at the from online and standard post you have no come back no money back the stuff from the UK was £21 how do I get that back .I got in touch with the people in England to sort out not sure what's going to happen . I know Xmas is nearly here and money doesn't grow on tree's but you have to hand it to these people easy picking all year round and before the do gooders jump in with not all are like that in Anpost yes there is good and bad every where but I do not see them taking my bills .Everyone that use Anpost is an easy mark you use reg post to have a record of the post but it can still go missing and again more money to a place that over charges you any way it can .Feel free to defend a place that has no competition in Ireland .

TWICE we've gotten birthday cards in a little An Post envelope with one of the corners of the original envelope neatly ripped off and the contents (cash) removed. We've told the senders so they know better now. An Post took the complaint but never followed up. What a surprise.

    It is what it's.

never had a problem with An Post (touch wood), and have seen BBC documentaries on widespread theft in the Royal Mail.

If you are familiar with "post", it is very easy to pick out certain items.

My credit card company post there monthly statements in envelopes that could be spotted a mile off. (must get on to them about it... but doubt they would listen)

Sorry to hear your stuff did not turn up.. but dont fancy your chances of getting it sorted....

I hate an Post. they (like the co. council) have wronged me.

    i was in UK.
    i bought clothes for OH.
    I came home.
    They did not fit.
I sent back to shop in uk - WITH a handwritten self addrerssed large envelope. i wrote it myself - completely legible.
Shop in UK received, & exchanged 2 pairs bottoms uk value £45 each (sterling)
They REGISTER posted these items back.
I had contacted an post as it appeared to be taking a while.
"no nothing here for that address"
    1 week later
"no nothing here for that address"
    2 weeks later
"no nothing here for that address"
    3 weeks
"no nothing here for that address" - " there was a large padded envelope for #27, but they didn't sign for it so wekept it here a while if anyone claimed itB then sent it back to UK"
me :"IT was number 21 !!!! I wrote it myself!!!! WHY wouldn't the postman just chance going to 21????
Also, i rang how many times? This package was sitting looking at you while i described it and gave all the details (as i have been in their sort office, the parcels is right in frount of their phone) and you looked at the package with "wrong Address" stamped on it and didn't think maybe that its mine???":mad::mad: :eek::eek::mad::mad::mad:

So, they sent it back to UK, never got it, and the shop never got it either. i hate those incompetant fooooollllzzzzzzzz :mad::mad:

I think that you should also take some responsibility here, in that you seem to have mis-calculated the size of your oh's bottom.

The only advice that I can give is measure twice and cut once (or is that wall-paper, lino or something else?).

An Post are an absolute joke. I mean, do they even deliver packages or parcels anymore or have they restricted themselves to only letters?

Anytime, and I mean "anytime", a package or parcel arrives in my local sorting office they will drop a slip in the door for collection. They don't attempt to deliver the package/parcel first and then deliver a slip; they deliver the slip first. I know some of friends who have the same issue in their area so it seems as if it is some unwritten policy An Post have. They are lazy, incompetent and utterly ridiculous in their behaviour. I for one cannot fathom how they get away with this as people seem to just let it go.

It seems like the Irish thing to do, as An Post aren’t the only companies being lazy and incompetent, to just do as little work as possible and have as little responsibility so that they’re accountable for nothing.

I've never had a single problem with An Post's deliveries. At least the local postman knows where people live, unlike the couriers who don't know their arse from their elbow and take your package on a two-week road-trip into oblivion.

And the winner of the spelling B is "neaideabh" for the 3rd that dropped right out of their mouth .

Any way I learned my lesson the hard way ,Hope the post office is broken up and shaken up.Along with banks and post offices think they have the right to rob you as they are faces places and they can pass the buck you can't win with them dammed if you do and dammed if you don't .
