does anyone know what the settings for swirly MMS are on o2 PAYG??
cant seem to get it to work......:o

    thanks.
if you log on to the o2 web site in the support section there is an option to have them text the settings to your phone, when you recieve the text swirly mms will ask you if you want to use these settings just agree and they will do it for you.
Ps. The o2 support page does not give the settings for iPhone so just tick the box using any other phone the settings seem to be the same!

    Hi Folks,

I have a first gen iphone running on 1.1.2. Its ok but the SMS application takes about 20 seconds to just open up. If I were to upgrade to a newer firmware version would the SMS applciation open quicker? I often get the symbol for new SMS i.e. the superscripted number in red over the SMS app on the screen even though I would have just read the new SMS. It often requires deleting a few older SMSs before the notification for new SMS goes away.

Is there any way to do group text yet?

I also cant download any decent apps for my iphone, is that cause its 1.1.2?

Is there any stable version of firmware that works well and allows you to download apps?

    Cheers!

maybe if you keep trying and using different phone models I think the one I used was an LG model.

Anyone else notice 2.1 as sloooowww.

I upgraded the wife's 1.1.4 to 2.1 over the weekend and there's about a 3 second delay going into calender, texting etc. Doesn't sound like much but is very annoying.

Just a heads up to EirText Pro users that there is an update (v1.1) now available which fixes crashing on firmware 2.1.

No compared to 2.0,2.01 and 2.02 this one is fast it could be that those of us that suffered the muck that was the last 3 os revisions are just happy to have a phone that functions again

just a suggestion did you restore from a backup once you had unlocked it if yes that may be the problem you could try restore and unlocking 2.1 again and just use the phone without setting it up on itunes see if is better that way

I keep missing calls and texts on my iPhone (2.1 firmware & jailbroken) lately.

Whenever I plug it into iTunes, it tells me that there are updated settings available for my network.

    So, 2 questions:
    1) Is it safe to let iTunes apply these settings ?
    2) Any chance it would fix the issues I'm experiencing ?

Yuo can use quickpwn to unlock also, there's a specific option for it. Check the tutorials on www.iclarified.com

Hey guys, I updated to 2.1 there the other day. All is good and there is a BIG improvement in speed, except for one annoying thing!

I get a text and I hear the notification sound\vibration. All cool so far. Then approximately 2 to 3 mins later I get another SMS notification sound\vibration but there is no new SMS??? This has happened on two iPhone I unlocked using Quick PWN.

Anyone else got this issue? Not life threating but rather annoying.....

    Cheers,
    M

I think this is just a new feature to remind you that you have recieved and not read your text!

I only get the second alert when I don't read the text so I assumed it was just a reminder!!

If you read it on the home screen when the SMS comes up and choose "close" (the only other option is "reply") the message is considered unread. You have to open the SMS app to clear the notification and avoid subsequent reminders. Is that what you're doing by any chance? Still annoying though... if you clicked "close" on the popup, it should be able to tell you've already read that message.

Hi Guys, Ive just upgraded to a "new" used 16GB 1st Gen phone.

My problem is my wifi connection. basically it can't seem to find web pages. It's found my eircom wifi and accepted the password, it has the 3 curvey lines showing it has a connection but when I go to access a web site it just says it's not responding and times out. My old phone still works perfectly with the network so I know it's working fine.
Is there some swithch I have to turn on or turn off???

Check your ip address chances are it is 169 something which mean you are not connected properly

1 make sure you entered the password correctly ( if it is a WEP key that is a zero not the letter o)

2 try putting the phone in airplane mode for a minute or 2

3 try turning the router off for 30 seconds

I have a similar problem and after a lot of messing, I found out that if you change the router channel on which it broadcasts its signal it should be ok. There are 11 channels on mine...I tried a few different ones and fixed it to channel 9...no problems since.

Guys, I've spent the last 6 hours trying to fix my iphone (non 3G) and I cant figure it out so all help gratefully appreciated.
I have the phone unlocked for months now and it was working perfectly but tonight when I connected to iTunes I stupidly pressed the button to update the software...It wouldn't back up and my only option was to continue without backing up....disaster !!
The phone is now locked and I can't unlock it or use iLiberty at all. iTunes keeps talking about recovery mode and I have restored it hundreds of times. When I press "Go for it" on iLiberty it tells me there is a problem communicating with the device and to make sure it is paired with iTunes and is in Normal mode!! iTunes tells me that the SIM card isn't supported and I need to put the original sim back in before it can activate the phone which I don't have any more.
I have even read about and downloaded PwnageTool_2.0.3.1.tbz which I can't open !!!
Please please help or even tell me where I can get it fixed before I pull out whats left of my hair!.
    Thanks in advance..
