I booked DUB-LHR-JFK-LHR-DUB on the site back in April and flew at the end of May. My flights were with Aer Lingus (EI) and American Airlines (AA). They have an interline baggage policy up until the end of October I think, definitely. Not sure what's going to happy when EI stop codesharing with AA. My bags were checked through without any problem. But with EI and BA there should be no problem getting your baggage checked through. To be sure, ring up EI to see.

if the ticket has both airlines on it under one itin, the interlining is taken care of

heck BMI interline with AA as it is!

When I called BA they stated that the price I paid for the ticket is the final price, nothing more can be added on later.

I've been looking at flights from Dublin to Boston 27th oct - 11th nov, and I'm getting tickets for over a grand, I can get flights for 2 people with aerlingus for 904eur, and some other site 825eur.

    Am I doing something wrong?

By the way, at the end you can add car hire? Do not bother and get it with Auto Europe. Its cheaper.
Also it adds something called Ticket Protector Plus which i think is travel insurance. Remove it and get multi trip yourself.

    Woah thats amazing value :o

How come it won't work for me though

Attached is a screenshot of what I get. is there any chance you could send me a link to the results you get? :)

From your screen shot, firstly select the Virgin option by clicking on the little red Virgin Atlantic icon in the horizontal bar of all airlines.

This should show the Virgin itinerary first in the subsequent list below.

Hit "select" and it should go away and find the fare as i have detailed in my previous post.

    Hope it works.

Thanks so much for that, it is great value.

Me and my dad are going to go, but when ever I put in two people it works out more expensive, would we be better off just buying our tickets seperately? or is it a bit risky?

    Cheers though :)

Yah that is a bit weird.
But it looks like it is a geniune capacity issue rather than anything to do with the web site engine. With 2 pepole it looks like the seats are not available on the EI DUB - LHR outbound leg and it switches to BMI for that leg..

The 'cheaper' price, for 2 pax, is available on the Sunday before and the Wednesday after you want to depart so it looks like to avail of these prices you will need to re-assess your dates.

i keep getting this message no matter what flight i select:
Because flight availability can change rapidly based on traveler demand, the flight you selected is no longer available. Please make another selection. (Message 100)

Just a Q for anyone who has booked with cheaptickets.com. I booked a flight in March and the money was taken from my credit card, approx 200 quid, I am flying with Aerlingus and BA but on my credit card statement the money was taken by Arlingus only and not BA, my flight has been fully confirmed, is this normal practic for one of the carriers to take the full amount? Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, its a 2 leg trip.. so air fungus will pay BA.. they are now responsible to make sure you get there.. so if BA screw up. air fungus will step in and get you there.. its like double protection..

This is different to just buying two seperate tickets.. if you did that instead then you would have no comeback.. its standard practice and the only way to use 2 leg trips...

I booked flights to New York with Aer Lingus/BA and I am totally satisfied that its the real deal. I called AerLingus to see could I check in online but they said it was only possible if booked through Aer Lingus directly.

So as it is a ticketless flight, do just check in with my passport? I already have the reference for the BA leg of the journey from London to New York and I can mange this online, and I assume, check-in online. Any workaround to allow me to check in online for the Aer Lingus Dublin to London leg? Cheers

Very frustrating at the moment, looking to book flights for the end of January and all I get is the full price. I've done a dummy booking before and it worked giving me flights for €200. I've messed around with different dates and it doesn't seem to work either. Hopefully I'm doing something wrong. I select my chosen flight, enter my name and proceed till it asks me for cc info. Any ideas?

Can't manage to find anything cheaper than the airline's own sites.

Want to go away for 5 days between 1st Jan and 11th Jan. Dublin - NYC.

The cheap fares are gone. Cheaptickets have fixed the 'loophole'.

See here for more info on the fares: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=865847

Bon Voyage to all who got the cheap tickets while they were around!!!!

Says who?? On your link it just says that the ppl on that website couldn't find anything cheap at the moment. But as far as I could work out the cheap fares are based around airline sales. So the majority of ppl seem to have booked during an Aer Lingus sale or a later British Airways sale.

Between sales I looked on this website and couldn't find cheap flights but once the BA sale started I was able to find much cheaper flights.

So I wouldn't write it off just yet.

Good to hear. I was confident enough but its still good to hear people are successfully travelling without any complications. Can't wait for my own trip next summer - 2 adults 2 kids to Atlanta for €800 return all in.

For anyone who booked a fare combining aer lingus and british airways did you have to pay aer lingus to carry baggage or did you get the ba transatlantic allowance for the aer lingus flight without paying anything extra?

I also have returned from Boston with Aerlingus/BA on this fab deal - thanks again to teresasaunt for bringing it to our attention. Had no problems at all.
I was allowed the BA baggage allowance through to dublin, bags were through-checked from Bos to Dub.
BA is reducing their transatlantic free allowance from 32kg per bag to 23kg per bag at the end of November.

Indeed thanks to the OP. Thanks aswell for the baggage allowance info - I thought I might have to pay separately for the Aer Lingus baggage allowance.

Got my tickets 2 days ago thro cheaptickets to Kenya using Aerlingus and Virgin. Great deal! Checked on the same flight today it was 50% more. I called Aerlingus yesterday to check on baggage and I was informed that my baggage will tagged all the way to my destination from Dublin. In addition, since the main carrier is Virgin Atlantic, whatever their baggage allowance is prescribed for their flight, you will be allowed to check it in from Dublin (2 pieces checked in baggage).
