Welcome along dude, it is deffo worth the read alright, sure I might start at page 1 again:P

How did you end up at a gig in Scotland back in '92? I thought i did well getting to the Prodigy down in Killarney.

The links to Closer to all your Dreams aren't working.

    Looking forward to hearing them.

    Cheers,

Been goin thru the thread for the last week, best read since Paul McGrath’s autobiography:D and has brought me right back, the Olympic was my home for the guts of 2 years(best years of my short life) and dont reckon they will be equalled. Recognised a few names in there along the way Skitz (serious blast from the past there) etc... Even made it out to his shed a few times. Was fcukin freezing if memory serves me(and not sure if it does anymore)

Did any of ya go to the Old Skool reunion gigs they had in the Red Box back in 2001, have to say was as close as I reckon I will ever get to the atmosphere of old.
Met a load of heads from times gone by.

Anyways cheers for all the downloads too, like the rest of ya, had most of these and were swiped, lost etc and thought i would never hear them again. Thankfully I was wrong

I could write a book on the sessions I had back in Skitz's shed, crazy!
I remember one night I was having a pint in town with my mate and next thing he produced a yoke out of nowhere. We were drinking away coming up and we were flicking through a magazine at the bar when we coped an 'Old Skool Night' in THE RedBox, and it would have been around 2001 alright.
We couldn't believe our luck. We walked up from FitzSimmons in Temple Bar and then got refused at the door immediately. 'Regulars only'. We were nearly crying, still really pisses me off when I think about it.

When you have mediafire open with the list of files you have stored you should see a tab at the top right of the slot allocated to that song that says 'Share'....when you click this it will drop down a window underneath your songs name with two options for links....you should have two internet windows open to copy a link...one to the boards with your post reply already open & one to mediafire where the links are available....click the top link in mediafire & you should then see 'Data copied to clipboard' flash up across your screen in a red band....then Paste it into your reply & they should come out like above:rolleyes:...any more problems just shout & i will try & help you out:D

Yeah, Jay, you couldn't meet a sounder fella. Had many a great night with him. Went out drinking with him and a few others from Lucan, stayed in his gaf. Actually seen him a while ago as he was getting on a bus but he didn't see me. He still luvs the 'Fightin Irish' stuff yeah?
When we seen it advertised in the gig guide paper at the bar as we were coming up and having a pint we genuinely though, 'This is Faith' we will deffo get in. This was my mate who used to go the Olympic with me all the time. We were on the verge of crying with fustration, stuck in that part of town whacked out of it with the sounds pumping out through the walls and the sadistic bouncers knowing full well they were wrecking our night. We got into the Pod then, but done a 180 straight away, gay night. I actually complained to managment through an email. I got an apology and got an invitation to the next one. When it came along I couldn't get one single soul to go in with me, freaked I was:mad::mad::mad:
I had my fair share of messed up nights in town over the years, bus this one still gets me to the bone even to this day. Bet I would have met loads from Olympic in there. Probably know you too;)

    Yeah,
The Dam is a great spot. They are at least 50 years ahead of us. This was my second time there and we are planning to go back in Feb 09. Cafes are still going strong but they have the smoking ban over there too but there are bowls of substitute 'herbs' at the bar so you can still smoke j's as long as its with the sub stuff in it, mad!
Done the 'Space Cakes' along with about 10 pints one day, needless to say it ruined that night, felt like I got shot with a Rhino dart:eek:
Taxi man was telling us that Trance Budha was closed down by the police, so I can imagine what it was like if it got closed down over there.
A Christian party has come into government recently and has pledged to shut half of all the coffee shops within the first year in power but a guy in a shop says that its very unlikely. But the French through the EU are really pushing the Dutch government to shut up shop completley:mad:

Just a thought....any one got any Pics. from a morning session in Barnstormers when it was down near pearse street....always presume someone must have had a camera even though i never had a camera with me at any sessions until about 4-5 years ago.....but some snaps from Barnstormers would be some crack to look at.....One memory i have & it is not a pleasant one was falling from a height on to the top of my head in there....after walking upstairs to where the pool room was to your left was a kind of Large square platform abou 3 foot by 3 foot & then another one beside it about 3 foot higher than that one....was watchin a couple of mates play pool against one of the Bikers that ran the kip who were all sound fuc.kers by the way & must have just goofed off while sittin on the higher platform a tumbled right over onto me crown:mad:....any where else & they probanly would have called an ambulance but instead just done another line of 'Lou Reed' & new pint & everything was A.O.K. again:cool:......some snaps would be class:D

Iv some gud old skool gabba or hardcore as i use to call it, tunes lik the bassreaction stuff & moby 1000 (dont come much heavier) hocus pocus etc,etc
tunes lik the above got played in the asylum regaler suere when it first opened it was a hardcore club but the best music that got played in there was some of the real dark sinister progressive house/trance that you dont hear on any of the tapes or at any of the old skool gigs which i think is a gud thing!!!!!!!!1 was having a session wit slim (any one that was on ni in the early days will kno who im on about) he has one of the best old skool collections iv seen wit loads of rare asylum tunes & he wont rip any of them  :p
