If you have a good strong laptop bag you can stick a weight plate in it and shorten the strap down and wear it like a sporran (the yoke worn with a kilt)

Laptop bags usually have thick webbing as straps, this could stand up to several tons, the weak point is the connectors though, which are usually only cast iron. I had a 10kg plate in mine which should be fine. The connection loops to the bag were very good though, with proper stitching. If you got webbing to bypass the weak connectors it could take a fair bit. I could thread it so it is only relying on webbing and stitching.

    webbing like this http://cgi.ebay.ie/2-5-m-Med-Duty-surfboard-Canoe-webbing-tie-down-straps_W0QQitemZ360085494511QQihZ023QQcategoryZ87089QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

could be used for making gymnastic rings too.
