    Source The Mirror
Tearful Jade Goody told of her torment at facing cancer doctors alone today - as her boyfriend starts a jail term.
Jade, 27, is set to learn her only chance of beating cervical cancer is a hysterectomy and chemo, leaving her unable to have more kids.
But the Big Brother star is distraught at battling it without Jack, 21 - given 18 months for battering a boy of 16 with a golf club.
She told friends: "My world's fallen apart. I thought it couldn't get worse after cancer but now they've locked up Jack. He's been my rock."
His lawyer pleaded with the judge: "This lady has a long road ahead of pain and distress. She needs her man to help her."
But after their pleas fell on deaf ears, a pal of the TV star, 27, revealed: "Jade hoped the judge would be lenient in the circumstances and was devastated when Jack got 18 months.
"Things will be harder for her and the boys without him. But she's being very brave about her illness and is determined to do everything she can to beat it.
"However, Jack being jailed couldn't have come at a worse time. He's been a huge comfort for her over the past few weeks."
The male model and a friend were locked up after they battered Daniel Steele, 16, up to 15 times with a golf club - hitting him so hard the head broke off.
Jade was not in court but sent a letter to the judge.
Hours before yesterday's sentence, she told TV viewers for the first time how she is facing up to her life-threatening illness.
Doctors are today expected to explain to her she must have a hysterectomy and chemotherapy that will leave her unable to have more children.
She told GMTV's Fiona Phillips: "I've got to go tomorrow to find out what treatment I need.
"The doctor has told me over the phone but he wants to sit me down and tell me step-by-step because it's quite sensitive. But my first thought was cancer, chemo, death because that's all I know of it."

Jade is due to have her op in two weeks. And she told viewers how she was tested for cancer four times, but doctors gave her the all-clear and sent her away with painkillers for period pain.
She said: "I was in hospital a week and they didn't do anything because they didn't know what it was, even though it was the fourth time I'd been there.
"They did a belly scan and everything was fine, even my blood, so they said it was either a bad period or stress. In the end I began to feel really frustrated, like they were insulting my intelligence. I thought they thought I was being a hypochondriac and lying about it."
Jade was told she had cancer as she appeared on India's version of Big Brother last month. She immediately returned to the UK and she and Jack patched up their on/off relationship.
The pair now live together in Essex with her sons Freddy, four this month, and Bobby Jack, five, from a previous relationship. Jade has been bowled over by the way Jack has rallied around her.
She said recently: "He's amazed me with how good he's been when I've needed him.
"When I was in hospital he took all my washing to his mum's house."
Jack has accompanied her to consultants and has said: "It's completely devastating. Jade is all over the place."
Jack found TV fame when he starred with Jade in 2007's Celebrity Big Brother, marred by the Shilpa Shetty race row.
He and pal James Mattock, 29, appeared in Chelmsford crown court, Essex, yesterday over the 2006 golf club attack.
Prosecutor said the pair were intent on "teaching a lesson" to their victim after he and other youths had earlier hurled abuse and scuffled with them.
Recorder Mark Lucraft QC ignored pleas from Jade and Jack's lawyer Andre de Moller and jailed both for 18 months.
The judge said: "You went with one purpose - to attack and have a fight.
"Hitting someone about the head with a weapon is extremely dangerous."

I feel for her and the kids but Jack deserved his sentence the Judge should not be lenient

She would indeed stoop that low, particularly if she has been told to do it to save the lives of others and paid an incredible amount of money to do so......its no coincidence that the advertisements for the new vaccines have started to appear on TV. This is all about money, nothing more nothing less....and i think it is highly unlikely that Jade Goody has got cancer at all.

Just read that report there that JP Liz posted above - it's ridiculous that Jade Goody expected Jack Tweed to be let off with a shorter jail term or no jail term - it beat some kid with a golf club up to 15 times, what kinda psycho is he?! He deserves to be locked up.

Have been deliberatly avoiding this thread but I do feel very sorry for her - surgery is always tough as is chemo, it takes balls of steel to get through it and you really do need your family around you or at least something to live for (she has her boys). Then she will always be in fear of it coming back. I hope that she gets better soon.

Wow, how scary is it that she has to get a hysterectomy at 27. Thank god she has had kids already.

Makes me feel relieved that I'm getting a smear test done next week.

Well a standard hysterectomy where only the womb is removed and not the ovaries is about two hours. If she was under for 8 jours then it was more then her womb and ovaries being removed, the cancer must have really spread.

I can't believe anybody would not think of things like smears and breast checks unless "celebrities" become inflicted.

I think you're missing the point here, the previous poster wasn't saying "oh well if Jade Goody has a smear then I should get one too". I think what she meant was that many of us can be a bit lax-a-daisy about getting smears and checkups done. However when we see someone high profile suffer from this decease it hammers it home that cancer can hit anyone, regardless of age or status. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who thought "how can she have breast cancer, she's too young" when they first heard about Kylie Minogue or Christina Applegate. Cancer is totally indiscriminate and anything that gets people to get checked out can only be a good thing.

    Sorry.

I should have said what I really feel. I hope she dies and I never have to look at her ugly mug again. She's not even a celebrity. She's a dirty, whoring, wannabee z-list celebrity who pays papparrazi to take pictures of her.

I have more respect for people on the dole than her. And that ain't much.

    My God
You are a nasty bit of crap my wife has cancer and I hate to read rubbish like that and 1 more thing you have more respect for people on the dole what is wrong with people on the dole

No matter how emotive the topic there is no call for insulting other users. Attach the post not the poster.

Arguing on thread about a mod's decision is off topic and against the forum charter. This is my only warning on this.

She did fake Clinical depression immediately after her race row.
Just as low in my opinion.

I feel sorry for Jade and I hope she will be okay. She is so young to have a hysterectomy.
I think k4t is trolling, Carpenter.

she's just so hard to trust, she does everything for PR, if she does have it I do wish her the best though especially for the sake of her kids, the badness in me did wish it might mean she'd lay low for a while so I wouldn't see her on every magazine, it's worse than ever now!
Sorry, I'll never get to heaven. :)

Looks like the surgery didn't go too well for her.

    From Perez:
It's not the news doctors or Jade Goody's family expected to hear.

Doctors discovered during her 8-hour operation on Friday that the British reality star's cervical cancer spread further than initially thought.

    Sad.

Goody's surgeons found that the cancer has reached 'Stage Three' (moved beyond the organ). There were cancer cells in a muscle behind her womb.

Her recovery odds are slightly above 50%.

To help her chances, she'll need to do an intense 9-week chemo treatment.
The Daily Mail is more optimistic though. It says that the doctors have caught it just in the nick of time.

Perez and the Daily Mail, so we don't know which is the truth?

Funnily enough, Perez culled his story from the Daily Mail article. He just chose to highlight all the bad stuff and they put a more positive spin on it.

Both the articles say that the cancer has spread. But while Perez says:
Her recovery odds are slightly above 50%
which obviously sounds very bad, what the Mail actually says is:
...the Big Brother star feared that her recovery odds had dropped from 95 per cent to slightly better than 50 per cent.

'Her chances are way higher because they have nipped it in the bud. Now the op is out of the way it’s a real boost for her and she’s so much more hopeful,' a friend told the Sun.
It doesn't make it clear whether it's doctors saying she has a roughly 50 per cent change of survival or if it's she herself who's said this. It's more optimistic than the Perez one, either way.

Cancer is such a horrible thing to happen to anyone. She is so young as well - it's shocking really that it's happened when she's only 26 (isn't she?)

I feel sorry for her kids, regardless of how much she annoys people, she nor her kids deserve this.

    Source Daily Mail
Big Brother star Jade Goody is facing a year of intensive chemotherapy after receiving the devastating news her cervical cancer has spread.

The reality TV star was diagnosed with the disease last month.

The 27-year-old had an eight-hour hysterectomy earlier this month and had hoped she would only have to undergo chemotherapy for six to nine weeks.

However, doctors have now told the mother-of-two the cancer appears to have spread to the sac around her abdominal organs, reports The Sun.

Her recovery odds currently fare around the 50 per cent mark.

A source told the publication: 'This is not her worst nightmare - that would be dying and leaving her children. But it comes pretty close.

'She had hoped that she would not lose all her hair.

'But now she has been told that she will definitely lose it all because the chemo will be much stronger. She's really, really upset.

'Jade is really worried that she will feel so ill and weak that she won't be able to look after the boys or do anything.'

Ms Goody's two sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, three, are being looked after by their father Jeff Brazier.

Am really sorry to hear that - chemo and surgery are really tough and no matter what anyone thinks, when you loose your hair it is really tough as you do not get a break from the cancer. I suppose that this means that she will have to tell her children now? She will survive this and it will make her a better person.
