    EdCaseRejuvenationSep12th.jpg

Suburban Sounds Promotions presents Rejuvenation with a night of bangin oldskool Asylum HardTrance from Asylum, Sides and Ormond legend, Ed Case. Ed has promised to unleash some of the most lethal tunes that were played in the early days of the Asylum for his first set at Rejuvenation.

Support on the night from residents Daragh Kelly and Ken Gardiner who are looking forward to getting back to the oldskool after a summer of nu skool with Envy. Guests on the night will be James Devlin, one of Dublin’s finest DJ’s, producers and promoters and Rejuvenation favorite DJ Daranoid.

Join us on Friday the 12th of September for what’s guaranteed to be a night of stompin classics at the Cavern Radio City. Doors 9 to 2:30 Adm 15 Euro. Limited capacity so get down early to avoid disappointment.

Be warned: This is no fairy tale………

Should have some somwhere...i'll have a look later & see what i can dig out......
Couple of tunes i wouldnt mind hearing again but need some direction from all you music junkies on them:pac:

    1. Heard this in the ASYLUM once only, Mate of mine told me a week or two before i had heard it that he heard a tune with 'Dire sraits' Money for nothing guitar riff to a bangin beat in there:eek: & i thought he was trippin but i did hear it a week or two later & never heard it again in there.....any one any ideas & have a download to offer:)
    2. Really old track i heard also once in the ASYLUM up stairs i had on tape but it was lost or stolen...it had samples out of the film 'Flatliners' in it with Kiefer sutherland saying 'We lived life so well & loved life so much' followed by Julia roberts saying 'Flatline' & a computerised voice counting down at 1 minute intervals in the tune starting at '5 minutes'
    3. Rave version of U2's tune 'Lemon' i looked for but cant find the one that i heard once on the bottom floor of the ASYLUM.

After reading your trip to Tramore adventure I'd say you lost a lot of good tapes in the day:pac::pac::pac::pac::pac:...tapes being stolen is just paranoia:confused:

I would like to say that tapes wernt taken out of Hi Fi's at partys to be replaced with shi.tty ones & no one knows what happened to it & radios left in the care of some mates on weekends away while a few head off up to whatever only to return to empty cassette slots & someone trying to tune in a Rave station in the middle of the country 10 - 15 years ago:confused:
Unfortunatley some people would steal your tapes given the opportunity & come back for your cans at your feet
Some cheeky fuc.kers around but were all mates in the end......but i still get pis.sed off thinkin about the amount of great tapes i had that were Lost or Lifted:mad:
Had Pressure 'Gradiation' on tape years ago & had another copy at home & we all went buzzin up to masseys wood just down from the Heller on Strawberry's & Speed one night with a big radio & brought Pressure tape's 'Gradiation', 'House Pressure 4' & Jay Carey tape 'Trance Seduction'(didnt know the name of this tape or gradiation until this year from the lads on here i.d. them)....long story short 'Gradiation' was lifted out of the radio Pressure 4 snapped & whoever lifted the tape wouldnt just hand it over so we had one tape for the night.....
    Moral of the story:
all you sticky fingered fu.cks Keep your magpie impulses under control & we can all have a good night:D;)

Fook me, if we were in Pakistan or somewhere mad like that, all your mates would have had their hadnds cut off a long time ago...or stoned to death (ha ha, no pun intended) for nickin the tunes.

I know what you mean about the mates, one of mine used to take everyones cans out of the fridge at parties and just laugh it off and then go and take more...there are some cheeky kunts out there

    Cheers,
    Mick

Does anyone have any uncut/un-edited video footage of The Olympic?

Mr. Springs video isn't great, you don't get a feeling for the place, it flicks between clips too quickly, it could have been recorded anywhere.

    Cheers,
    Mick

yeah used to bug the **** out of me aswell, ppl lifting tapes.i mean the thing is i used to enjoy building up my collection of tapes, but i would have no problem doing a copy for them if they asked.i'd be more than happy to do it.you would also have the pleasure of them saying they get the tape of you.:D

the majority of my tapes i got of a guy called anto carroll ''c'' (thks a mil anto i owe ya 1 bud)but on several occassions anto gave me a loan of a box load of his tapes to copy.i would gaurd with my life as if they were my own.did have 1 r 2 accidents with 1 r 2 of them getting tangled in the tape deck.but i would always open the tape up fix it and glue the 2 broken ends for him.it still worked fine just a little jump here and there.:D

1 of the tapes was accidently recorded over not sure by who.could have been me or 1 of the little bro's.anyways i told him and he was cool.sound bloke was anto.not seen him in ages.antooooooooooooo if your out there say hello man.:D

This is probably a long shot, but I'll give it a go. I remember hearing and loving a tune on a Dean Sherry radio show from around '98 that was a remix of Feeling Good by Nina Simone, the song with the lyrics 'It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life, etc, etc'

Like I said, probably a long shot but if anybody can remember the tune I'd love to hear it again.

Hows it goin, its great to see that there is so many like meself(clingin to the past)that still want to talk and reminice about the glory days of the Asylum and all the other great Dublin clubs.I thought i was a dyin breed till i discovered all these new old skool nights that the lads have been puttin, nice one senan and daragh k.Hearing all the old sets made me dust down me old 1200s and start to collect some of the tunes that were hard to come by back in the day.
