Former classmates - do you blank them or bother with them?

A couple of times recently when I've been in the home place, I've gone out shopping. I've seen a couple of former classmates out and about doing their shopping as well. They wouldn't be people I'd ever have been friendly with or anything, just folk who happened to be in my class. Anyway, seeing as it's 15 years since I did the Leaving Cert and I can't be arsed talking to them, I just stuck my nose in the air and kept going. Life's too short to be bothered.

Most (well nearly all) of my former classmates were complete a*seholes. If I seen any of them crossing the road I'd put my foot down. :D

I don't see many of them here on A Wing... :)

Actually, I don't see many of them at all but if I do I say hi or on occasion I even go for a pint with them.

regardless of them being assholes or not, i'd still say hello, nothing earned nothing gained doesn't really hurt that much tbh.

I hardly ever see anyone who I was in class with. Maybe once every few years!

I wonder am I simply not recognising them, and do they now think I'm a rude ****...

Did anyone here go to Oatlands College in Stillorgan?!

there are only a few that i would meet up for drinks with occasionally but if i passed by any of them on the street i would just say hi. wouldnt start a conversation or anything but completely blanking them and in your words sticking your nose up at them. no.

do you think you are better then them or something.

There's one or two that I wouldn't speak to under any circumstances, but the rest I'd say hi to, maybe even stop for a chat.

    I'll say hi unless it's some gob****e I didn't like :)

I ran into a few former class mates in a short space of time recently, and by the end of it I was sick of stopping for the same fuckin chat..

Him: So what ya up to these days
Me: Ah just workin away you know, and yourself?
Him: Ah sure much the same, when you down again? We should go on the beer.
Me: Sure next time I'm down I'll give you a buzz and we'll sort it!
    Him: Sound chat ya later.

Fastforward 6 months, repeat. Fastforward 6 months, repeat. etc

I come across a few when I do get home. I just be civil, everyone is all grown up now. That said, I wouldn't be inviting them out for a drink or anything. :)

Honestly, I wouldn't remember one of them. Not one.

as were most of mine, but since i didn't even go to school in ireland, and have been living here 10 years, its not really an issue

    :D

went to college here, and would bump into those class mates ocasionally, only one or two ar$eh0les, not complete ones, but would all get a freindly hi or even a conversation depending how freindly we were

My class and year were pretty surprisingly tight. So yeah, I stop and chat to them whenever I see them. Except for the stuck up cows, I'm happy to just pretend that I don't see them.:)

Most of the people I went to school with were assholes, there are very few old school chums I'd be bothered acknowledging, let alone making small talk with... unless I could work some veiled insults in there.

lol yeah, I've had that conversation alright

I remember them all... which I find weird because I'm useless at remembering peoples names in the short term.
I could be introduced to someone and forget their name within 30 seconds... yet I can recall the full names of the 40 odd people I was in 6th class with. (yeah those 80's/early 90's class sizes eh?)

Btw, I was bullied all through primary - and here's a little story.

I met one of my former bullies a few years ago when I was working on the door of a bar/club in town (The Bridge, Westmoreland St.)

I threw an absolute wobbler, the fvcker was lucky he'd a hundred damn witnesses or I think I'd have done some really seriously, fcuked up damage on the bollox.

Now, I'm starting to feel angry again.

    I've been.

It's only been four years since I left school but I still hang around with a few of them and would still talk to or at least say hello to any others I bumped into.

It was a fairly good atmosphere though in my year which probably helped.
