without the stupid obvious things like opening windows or reaching for a high shelf....what does it matter being tall? having a lower centre of gravity has its advantages...im 5 8, no small man syndrome here although i do alittle thai boxing which makes me quitely confident i guess! petite girls all the way!!

no lanky uptight snoots for me please! :D

I somewhat consist of 5 dwarves. When combined together, much like the Power Rangers would, they form 1 complete being................hence me.

I don't inherit any super powers or lazers, however.

At least thats what I've been lead to believe..............

no probs Dinx! although i've never witnessed wimmin letting rip about other shorter women...

This isn't even a gender war!! both sides of the divide are collaborating!

anyway my ex was 5 1' and she was a fox and more partial to men like me :D:D

I have small-tall-man-syndrome. I'm 6 foot but everyone thinks I'm a midget 'cos I hang around with giant fvckers. It makes me angry.

    So stop getting uppity, ok.
Heh. I did that once when I was in a fight with a friend. It was funny watching him try to hit me.

That's gotta suck. In my house, my parents have appointed me (apparently) official light-bulb changer. I have two sisters who're a couple inches taller than me, but I'm the one who changes the lightbulbs.
    Hehe.

I'm a guy and i'm only 5'8 , doesn't really bother me to be honest i've never had a problem getting women and anyone who has commented on it wouldn't be someone i'd be interested in.

In regard to big guy's not needing to be aggressive, being short doesn't make people aggresive or feel the need to make up for anything, what about a 5'7 or 5'8 guy who is a skilled MMA or kickboxer? I don't think we would be aggresive when out or fear people bigger than us.
    Isn't 5' 8" average height for a man?

5'11". Wish I was taller the whole time, help way more with the ladies, it's a fact. I'm the oldest son and both my brothers are taller than me. I see that in a lot of families, the younger the son, the taller. Anyone else notice that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭easyontheeye

its true we do have to try that extra bit harder to get noticed :(

    Aye.

I've seen that quite a bit.
Most of my Father's brothers are short, but my grandfather was 6' 2". That was very much the rarity in the early Twentieth century.

A healthier lifestyle has lead to a taller population.

Iris people were noted as being tall back in the 9th century, before the country was invaded and the quality of life amongst the natives was screwed with.

I work with a short fella and he is one of the most annoying people I know, he compensates for his height by being incredibly loud, he shouts down the phone and at people sitting beside him and his laugh is almost deafening. He isn't a midget though.

I think a girl has to be incredibly small for me to consider her a midget, I work with some very short girls and I just consider them short girls, if a fella was the same height or even slightly taller I would automatically consider him a little midget fella.

To quote Ian Wright: 'I don't know what it is about little people like that.. I just love 'em!

No, anyone under 4' 10" is considered a midget, I'm 6 inches short of that!

im 4 11.4 (yes i added the extra centimetre cos i earned it:)

    not a midget yay

funnily enough all the girls in my family are small my sis is 4 9 and the tallest sister is 5 3

That Ian Wright quote is just painfully funny.:D
I love short women. I know its not correct but I wouldn't consider a woman proportionally right a midget no matter what height. I know plenty of lads with short man complexes and they are annoying twats because of it, nothing against short people as long as you don't have to tip toe around the fact that they are short.

Do you just lie about everything?

I'm fairly certain I'm taller than you and I'm 5'11".

I went into histerics the other day when my friend sat down on our couch and her feet didn't touch the floor...I wouldn't even consider that small.

Thats always happening to me. my ex found it hilarious. personally i enjoy being able to swing my legs :D

im 5ft, & i like being small :) & still tall enough not to be a midget, yay :)

i dont like standing on chair to reach presses and open/close windows though. & why do shops always have the petite length trousers on the higher up rails. i think its so the shop assistants can laugh at the small people trying to stretch up to reach :(

I personally think short men are an abomination and should be culled from the gene pool.

lol, its only in the last 100 years or so we have actually got taller, the average height of soldiers at the battle of the boyne was about 5ft 2in. if jesus really existed he would have been about 4ft 6in tall, some of the greatest actors, musicians and sportsmen of the last 50 years are under 5'8.

I'm not a midget but if I was I'd always dress in a suit and top hat and when walking around the city centre I'd constantly whack people on the knees with a cane.

I'm 5ft 3 1/2 and it's crap. I'd love to be 5'10 or 6'. I'm hoping that daily stretches on my medieval torture machine will help me to someday reach my dream height.

Im the same height and I'd never want to be taller. Shortish men dont bother me either. Dont know what the obsession with having a taller guy is about :/
