There is a new channel line up this am from MT leinster on different channels. The trial ending banners are gone. I am presuming this is an MPEG4 feed.

It is good to get updates and all but is this the right thread for them?

Rename the "Mt. Leinster Changes.." thread to "MPEG4 transmissions from Mt. Leinster"?

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055345708

Would attract more immediate attention. Important news this as it seems to jump the gun on the collective wisdom that the MPEG4 engineering tests were meant to start next week.

Any update with spur hill ?

Surely someone has some (reliable) insider information.

I thought they would have some mpeg4 test transmissions at this stage.. Even if it was only a test card.

I'm looking forward to something starting.. Even thought i'll probably be disappointed :)

Only they sites with DTT equipment installed previously could be ready for mpeg4 quickly ie Mt Leinster 3Rock and Clarmont Carn

An ad for DTT from Spur Hill? What did it say about it?

I think he is on about a "expect disruption to your analogue viewing while we carry out maintainance" ad. There was one for Dungarvan too I was told.

Any txs from spur? Dungarvan work finish today.

Arrrgh , Dungarvan TX off air when I did a service call in Dungourney at 1830 this evening. Wondered why I was getting nothing!
Anybody know if RTE NL would send an aerial rigger e-mail or text notification of engineering work in there area? I must contact them tomorrow.

Anyone have any idea of when the DTT will be switched on in Dungarvan?

Did a scan just now, no signals.

(this is from near the city centre, at a computer where I get 100% signal on DAB Radio from Spur Hill.)

RE: Mossy Monk's post, Aertel p169 says they're still doing some DTT work on Dungarvan on October 7th: http://www.rte.ie/aertel/169-03.html
Hard to know if Spur Hill is finished or not.

anyone getting a DTT test signal from Woodcock Hill today?

    MtM

I am pretty sure RTE have stated on Aertel when DTT work was being carried out and where. With the recent weather I would say repairs maybe on the agenda.
Woodcock Hill may have been hit by a fridge that the International Space Station dumped recently

    MTM

From what I hear the DTT transmitters are on site waiting to be connected to the new antenna?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54 ✭✭fkearney

Testing on 4 frequencies earlier today. No video just carrier but at least its a start. Signal strength looked good and no problems with existing analog channels. All switched off again this evening though. Hopefully not much longer before we see some real video. :)
