Sorry to drop a serious tone into AH buuuuut......

On the Luas thismorning I spotted this advert in a free and widely available magazine and it just struck me as plain wrong.

I dont know if the photo is doctored or not but even if it was I think it's really insensitive for anyone who had the misfortune to suffer any physical deformities.

I've removed the company name and prices from the image to avoid any problems and so they dont get any free publicity.

Designer should be shot. What ya reckon?

Mod's move if ya feel this is suited better to a different thread.

Ignoring all the marketing I've studied...

That's just morally f*cking wrong. That's truly awful. You'd want to weep.

Is that because morality and marketing are mutually exclusive?

Nah, because it's a **** ad on its own. :p

No. Its definitely because marketing and morality are mutually exclusive.

Somebody posted a funny one not too long ago, an article about the moral ethics of diamond mining or something along those lines, concentrating their criticism on a particular company. To the left of the article at the bottom of the page there was an ad for the same company, I found it funny but couldn't find the link

    Why remove the company name?

Same as, it takes a lot to shock me and I consider myself a most un-PC peron but fook me that's bad taste. Maybe you can joke about that with your friends but in today's society you cannot post that kind of material as a general advertisment!

Wait until his moral holiness The Most Reverend Ray D'Arcy (genuflect) gets a hold of this:pac:

Also, I don't understand why the name of the offending Company has been blanked?

It's no National Dairy Council of FÁS ad. That's for sure.

Having to remove the company name and prices to post it here is just as stupid as the ad

Well for one thing it promotes the company the ad is for if their name is on it.

That's what the point of the ad was to shock people and then you see the name and remember. Better to see it without the name TBH because some people might actually buy the products after seeing the ad then because you know some people are just that stupid.

Me, I'd just not buy anything from the company ever again. It would go on my list of companies I won't purchase from.

    what a bizarre ad.

The only reason I blanked the company name was incase it infringed on any of Boards.ie rules.

If a mod gives the okay i'll be more than happy to post the original ad with the name of the company..... Name and Shame I say
