Fantastic news. Been wanting to see them for ages.

I'm a little confused though. Jim Carroll says the capacity will be 5,000 and be held indoors, while Ticketmaster states it'll be an open air event, which I presume will hold a good few more punters.

I'm sure that'll be cleared up before tickets go onsale.

It's in a tent. So techincally outdoors.

Saw them in the Olympia a couple of years ago and then later again that year at EP. The were simply amazing both times.

But on Ticketmaster it says "open air", which would mean not in a tent.

LOL wtf? Sounds good. They need to announce more acts for this festival...in fact any information at all would be good!

There's something up on the website now:
    http://www.adayinthelifefestival.com/

Not much mind you, just the date really. And either POD have it wrong (13/08/08) or everyone else does. It would be good if they could at least get that clear before they start selling tickets.

Looks like ticket release has been pushed back to this Friday.

Soulwax- Nice addition, Rocked the place in Belgium 2 weeks ago!

This will be amazing. Kraftwerk and Soulwax!

    Just noticed it's over 18's though :(:(:(

Anyone say I've a hope of getting in? I'm 17 btw, have gotten into several 18's gigs before, also have a decent fake ID.

Im broke and this is gauranteed to sell out on Friday. If only the tickets went on sale a week later I would have the cash. Damn you POD concerts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,739 ✭✭✭Jello

Think I'll buy a ticket on Friday anyways... even if I don't get in I'm sure there'll be loads of people down there on the day looking for tickets so I'd have no problem selling it.

You really think so? Selling out the Ambassador is one thing but this is going to be a pretty large gig. I don't think Kraftwerk are *that* popular to sell out this venue in one day.

I'm going to wait til nearer the date...not too blown away by the support acts and i'm really getting sick of being charged nearly 100 quid for a gig.

Hmeemmm... I am a little concerned about possible sell out. I agree with eth0_, they're not exactly massive but with the small capacity. :/

I'm quite pleased that the festival ticket includes a bus from Dublin. Makes the price tag a little more easier to swallow considering transport to/from these things is usually like €20.

€90? I appreciate what they've contributed to electronic music but at that price they can go and f**k.

Not just Kraftwerk, starts at 3pm and there's 4-5 acts, sounds reasonable to me.

I'm not - I want to drive there if I decide to go. Why should I be essentially forced to pay for a bus ticket I won't use? Poor form!

Ya see I dont think there is parking facilities so you will have to use park and ride.
I reckon its some more of this pro-green nonsense.
    Load of ****.

Because there is no parkng, nothing but narrow windy roads up there. It was their only option. Even if you got a lift u turns would be near impossible.

Fingers crossed for sunshine and we're potentially looking at party day of the year. I'm just saying.........:D

Dunno bout reasonable.....Myself and a few mates are going to see them in Krakow, Poland on the 20th and 21st of September at Sacrum Profanum. Its on in a disused Steel Mill in the Nowa Huta district of the city.
Tickets for 2 nights of the werk, flights and 3 nights accommodation in the old town coming in at well under 200 euro pp. Cheapest tickets for the gig (still available as far as i know) are 18.00 euro.

I dunno, I'd rather get the bus to Wicklow for the day than go the long haul to Poland and deal with airport security and all that.

This is meant to be a great estate, used to be a big hippy hide out in the 60's as far as i know.....i'm sure there's plenty of back doors if it sells out....POD concerts should put on a good show....seems a little soon after EP....

It hasn't sold out yet (after nearly 4 days)...

Aaarrggh! I can't go this time. Saw them twice, once in Frankfurt in 1991 and again in 2004 in Manchester.

Brilliant band - so different from anyone else

I'm pretty sure that when they're playing as 2ManyDJs that's what they get billed as. So it'll be their Soulwax material on the night I'd say. Is it acoustic? I've never listened to Soulwax but always thought they were a full rockin' band type o'thing.
