Lived outside of Ireland, travelled as much as I can, still prefer most places I've been to compared to Ireland.

Anyone who has nothing nice to say about ireland clearly hasn't travelled much.

The scenery, good standard of living, nice food (full IRISH breakfast mmm), nice drink (cup a tae), I LIKE the weather most of the time not too hot not too cold, our love for sport I might not like the gaa but those who support it get really passionate about it and can have a good craic whether or not their team wins or not, not rowdy in general like soccer or that compared to other countries. Good education system. The history. And the people just can not beat them :D I could go on but i'm finishing work for the weekend.

I lived most of my life in Belgium;) i can safley say, It's better then Dublin/Ireland.

O Rly? Lifeless place imo...full of robots.

As far Holland (excepting Amsterdam) I found them to be people to be incredibly insular and racist, and spending Queen's Day there was pretty much the lowest most depraved example of humanity I've ever seen.
A few days later I just packed up the car and left...resigning from work by email

I thought Holland was OK but Belgium was hell. The most boring country you could imagine.

I thought maybe I was in bad form or something the first time around and blamed myself. I went back only to confirm everything. Dreadful place. Can't see any joy in the place at all - utterly pointless. Would be no loss if the sea came over it and created some new fishing grounds between Holland and France.

Prices - everything costs way to much.

Outside Dublin - Everything just sort of, stops.

first: Things cost too much because you are/were an immigrant, and generally speaking (99% of the time) immigrants work the lowest paid jobs in the country. When you have a good job, things don't cost too much at all, things are great, things are cheap. I'm in my early twenties, and I earn well over twice the average wage in Belgium(after tax), with no third level qualifications. Just an example to illustrate that Irish people can get good jobs, negating the money argument. Also, we aren't taxed nearly as high as belgium, which has the highest income tax rate by far in the OECD.

Outside Dublin... Everything just sort of STARTS!
Have you visited the west coast, or any of connemara, cork, most of the south, and the north west are all beautiful parts of the country with real friendliness, community spirit, things happening, etc.

On the other hand, I have visited Belgium, and they have what? Pretty cities, but no landscape. No mountains, a pathetic sheltered coast, its population density is too high, all the farms are very industrial, the people aren't good craic, people and country is just... boring!

Point is, that everywhere has its problems, but Ireland IMO is a great place to live.
Could be a little sunnier though yeah!

Only because you didn't stick it out for Carnaval!

The peoples are the best thing about Ireland, after that it's like a wetter version of everywhere else.
Everything costs so much partly because salaries are huge in Ireland in comparison with most of Europe, partly just because people are willing to pay that much (which is probably linked to them having high salaries).

Well since I don't drink, I'll have to take my fathers word for it, but he said it was fine/as good as over here.

Lived a year in Belgium worst place ever IMO.
    Robots is a good word.
was once on motorway from Antwerp to Brussels, one lane seemed to be closed and the traffic on the open one was horrible. Got on the closed lane and it wasn't closed at all, everyone was just following the one in front, flew to brussels while everyone else stayed in the traffic. Summed the whole place up after a year!
Complain in Belgium and you get 'That's how it works in Belgium' they do want to hear it/improve it, don't want to complain. Thats what's great about Ireland. we are a great bunch of moaners!

More like don't find a better way of doing it and also don't complain.

Where the hell did you go to? It doesnt cost that much at all. Was way cheaper than over here.

China is just class, taxi for about 30miles for 10€ or under.
