Sexist Comments

I think in Ireland its definitely the case that generally only woman are hired for jobs like coffee shops and waiting tables, the only exception to that is if you're more flamboyant than the average. The reverse could definitely be said for the construction industry. I think its probably just not talked about openly and when its said its kinda shocking.

Indeed, there was an article in the Sunday Times magazine about how in Norway they have it as law that companies must have 40% female board of directors, no mention of a 40% male quota. And lets face it, some industries women just don't bother with for whatever reason, others men don't bother with.
Could you imagine if building contractors were told they had to have 40% of their foremen female or face charges? Or if Petermarks were told they had to have 40% of their managers male or face charges? It'd be a case of rush hiring the first person of the correct gender regardless of how unsuitable they were for the position. Then you'd have someone unsuited, probably unskilled and unmotivated (bumped up to the top of the ladder just for their gender and knowing they're the only thing keeping the company from a lawsuit, who would feel motivated?). How on Earth is that supposed to discourage discrimination, it'd only create headlines of how males are lazy slackers or females are clueless layabouts and folks would be even more resistant to equality.
If nothing else such quotas need to take into account the base gender split within the industry the company operates, e.g. most bus drivers are male so you'd expect a mostly male management, most nurses are female => mostly female management, most engineers = male => mostly male management, most forensic anthropologists = female => mostly female management, etc....
i.e. something like 40% x number of the gender in the industry/total number in the industry = the quota for how much of management should be of that gender.

There's a big difference between being "one of the lads" and being a mature and sensible individual. At times she'll ruin the fun on the lads too, because that is what is required of her as a moderator. I highly doubt she has anything personal against you, but your stance on the forums does seem a bit offensive while being in turn quick to take offense. Not everything is about what you are, sometimes it's just about who you are.
