Right, well Patricide tempted fate when he uttered this:

Ah there old hat at this stage hungus, CLASS hat....but still whens the last time you bought yourself some gear.....for shame....for shame....

He's right, it has been somewhat of a long, relatively speaking, and knowing how much of a gear whore I am. Some of the more astute of you may have noticed me having a bit of a clean out, and this can probably mean only one thing, funding something cool. ;)

Now, I've not bought anything yet, but it's a certainty now, that something wicked this way comes... I mean, something awesome. But seeing as it's not even on it's way yet, I won't spill the beans, I'm just going to give you guys a heads up, a sneak preview if you will... And it's not black:

Now, that's a small cropped piece of what it is I hope to be having in my hands soon. Is it a guitar? Maybe it's a Fender? Could it be a Telecaster? Maybe it's not even a guitar, maybe it's one of those funky custom amps, or cabs? But I shalln't tell! :D

Expect more revealing pics as time goes by...

I shall not fess up! As I've said, more revealing pictures will be posted, but you'll have to guess. I can tell you that it's not a dress, and it's probably not a bowl of green water though. It's expected in about 2 weeks, give or take. ;)

Nah, if I was getting, and I'm not saying I'm not getting, a custom Mesa/Boogie, it'd be a Roadster. ;)

First thing I thought was PRS. They have quilt tops down!

What's all the negativity with PRS???? Who can fault them or what are their faults....apart from price!!!

I can understand people complaining about Gibson at times as i own a pair of Standards. But not the PRS.....

I have never liked a PRS that I've played. They are just not for me.

I don't think anyone is overly negative, they're great guitars. They just don't live up to the hype, that's all.

What PRS models have you played?

What guitar does live up to the hype?

What guitar does live up to the hype?

    Depends on the hype ;)

To be honest, nothing can live up to they hype surrounding them, just read your own posts about them :p PRS are fine guitars, however there are lots of guitars of equal quality but substantially cheaper. For the price of them, you'd want something substantially better than almost anything else out there, but that's not the case. For the hype that accompanies them, you'd expect the thing to almost play itself and every note sound like audio gold. They're good, there is no doubt about that, but they're just not any better than a lot of other guitars that don't come with the baggage :)

Edit -> although this might be worth chopping off and starting a new thread, rather than dragging this one further off topic.

For the record, I think PRS guitars are fantastic, and I've never played one I didn't like. ;)

Hmm, lets see a little more of that gorgeous quilt:

What do you guys think of the finish? I love it! :D

    Thanks man! ;)

It is an absolutely gorgeous colour, and you don't really see many green guitars around.

Couldn't tell ya what they were. They weren't CE models though. Oddly, I actually liked the CE models I did play though. The Tremonti was rather nice.

To be quite honest, who gives a rats arse about hype? If a guitar is nice to play, then buy, bring it home and play it until either you or it dies, whichever is first.

And as you are quite fond of saying Hungus, This Thread Is Useless Without Pictures
