I just spend all my coins.

I don't understand how and why people have a problem doing that.

Pocket real-estate is limited! What with the wallet, phone, keys, mp3-player, etc. I don't want to be carrying around a load of coins aswell so I dump them out of my wallet when I get home.

I use them for bus fares occasionally.. that's about it.

i had about 500 euros in my water cooler which i collected for about 6 months and now its spent on drugs and a trip to amsterdam and im not happy about seeing it emtpy

me and 2 other mates spent half the night counting half it up before we got bored and gave up

i hate those machines that take 12.5% of the cash ..its crap
and then the banks EXPECT YOU!!! to put into bags for THEM

    **** that i say

the person who said they put it in the Credit union every so often
    do they except loose change?

and SECONDLY i have a question
if u saw a lad sitting on a chair with a sign saying i would like your copppers if u got any would u give him them?
cuz iv been thinkin about doin this for a long long while

I melt my loose change down when I have enough to make a big sword with.

if your coin wasn't bagged correctly then the bank staff would spend ages counting it manually, thereby holding up everyone behind you in the queue.

    they cannot weigh mixed coin.

    remember full bags only.
follow the demonimation amounts written on the bags.

that way it's easier for everyone.

    i.e.
Mr A comes in looking for a bag of €2 coins.
No problem, I just took one in earlier.

If it were incomplete or mixed, more time would be wasted trying to make up a proper one for Mr A.

The more I think about it, Moonboy has the right idea.

Just spend it. You'll get rid of it quickly enough if you take a few seconds to sort out the coin in your pocket. As opposed to just taking the easy option and handing over a note which perpetuates the cycle of misery even more.

do you want to skin up?

    smoke a bowl?

    pass the bong?

    give / take a blowback?

I usually throw it into a jar on the windowsill, it got raided recently so there's probably only about €20 in it. On very poor months I've raided it to use at the self service checkout in tesco. They take all coins but it does annoy the other people in the queue seeing you chuck in a whole load of change.

I just use the self service tills in tesco to count them. Just keep plugging in the shrapnel until either there's enough there to cover the cost, or I have only larger stuff left :D

i give it to my mother, usually €100 every 6 months or so. Slowly paying back my shildhood dependence. She only needs to live to 340 to be paid back in full I reckon.

We probably won't be using cash in about 50 years and hence there won't be any spare change so the joke's on her! :D

Charity boxes at tills usually, non-religious ones.

We'll just have countless payment cards with 1c,2c 5c...etc left lying around instead!
