    Ya O2 Ireland but you would have to sign up to a contract if you wanted to get a k850i or an 8G N95. So what's the hassle with that, I have been with O2 for years anyway what another couple of months

    Because the iPhone contract is not the same contract as other phones.. minimum €45 a month.

    No you could get an N95 sim free or you could sign up with vodafone or you could choose to go pay as you go would have a choice thats the hassle

    Dunno if this is the correct place to post this comment, but I bought the iphone just there and I can't find the place to insert the sim card!!!!!!!!!!!
    It's driving me crazy! Any ideas? HMMMM?

    lol yeah top of the phone get a paper clip or something similar in the hole out pops tray for sim card

    You'll still need to sign up for the contract though.
    Is it not possible to walk into an O2 shop pick up the iphone pay for it (without signing anything) and then unlock/jailbreak it?
    I though all activation/contract signing was done via itunes therefore no need to sign anything instore?

    lads im looking for a bluetooth headphones for the iphone

    any suggestions

    im pretty sure you need a bluetooth reciever that goes in the phone and sends it to the headphones

    From what I know, the iphone has built in bluetooth.

    But try this.. one of a couple of recommended fixes:


    I've been running caterpillar&kate for over a month now and no problems. In fact its the most essential app I'm running. However, safari and photo library has been crashing a bit too often but I have read that its because of the temp files that AFP creates when browsing the filesystem wirelessly.

    Hi all,

    I installed an app called Kate from Installer.

    After I installed it I had to reboot my iphone...since then the touch screen wont work properly. eg. I can select Phone, but when I touch a contact nothing happens....same with settings - can get into the menu but can't do anything in there.

    The only option seems to be a restore. I have an unlocked 1.14. I upgaded from 1.1 using Ziphone. If I do a restore will it relock my phone?

    Are you guys having problems with KATE when your trial runs up? I bought a license straight away and never had problems like that.

    KATE does a few nice things;

    Change system font
    Custom EQ
    Calander to-do and events list displayed on the lock screen
    SMS/CALL notify.
    Privacy feature for SMS to hide the text or other options.
    Smart Dialer search for contact via keypad
    Allows application of Summerboard themes with customization

    Nice app but seems to be causing problems for people.

    Had to restore the iphone to get rid of kate...we're back on track again.

    However, whenever I get a txt or call the number comes up instead of the contact id.

    I've installed BossPrefs but it's still happening...any ideas?

    Hi guys,

    I have read the majority of this topic and I have a few questions that I hope some of you can help me with, nothing complicated just general queries.

    1. Does anyone have an issue with their phone freezing for no reason and has to be reset to get it working again? This has happened with my phone about 4 times in the past week since I got it. I unlocked my US phone using Ziphone (obviously before i read all the bad things about it). I unlocked my girlfriends phone with iLiberty to avoid any potential problems associated with Ziphone but she is having the same issue with it freezing.

    2. How do i turn off Edge? Since i put in an O2 sim and have the E in the corner, I can not connect to my wireless. It shows a tick mark beside my network in the settings but i do not get the wifi icon in the top left.

    3. The third thing is battery life. I am barely getting 2 days out of a charge and I am not using it a lot as I have still to switch my number over and I have no music on it yet. Do I have a dud battery or something?

    2 - > you could just delete the edge settings????

    3 -> Ya my battery lasts a day but then again I'm playing with it constantly!

    Tip for really reserving battery life.. SWITCH OFF WI-FI!

    Sorry for caps but it's amazing how much extra battery I've been getting outta my phone. Get an average of 3 - 4 days out of it on medium - heavy usage.

    There's an application available somewhere in Installer called 'WiFiToggle' - adds an icon to your menu to switch it on / off at a single click. Switch it on when necessary - checking e-mails, updating RSS feeds but don't leave it on when it's not being used.

    Ok, so it's firmware 2.0 - but, should I flash?

    I wouldn't recommend using firmware 2.0 as it's a beta and tends to crash. A lot of the features are supposedly missing / unfinished too.

    well if you want to use pwned to make a custom firmware is the best way of getting 2.0 but it is buggy as ****

    Bossprefs is good as well allows you to turn off edge as well as wifi
