I think that if you can get past the fact that the singer is a puppet, the song is actually quite catchy.

The problem is, he doesn;t sing it: he screams it into a microphone in a horrible Dubiln accent. It sounds like a very rough, aggressive drawl. I don't see the humour translating well at all, and I don't see him getting past the semi.

First semi is on Tuesday I think and the second semi is on Thursday, although I'm not sure about that one.

Don't know which one Dustin is in, possibly the first.

I agree, the first time I heard the song was on the "Song for Ireland" thingie. I couldnt make out a word he was screeching. The lyrics are funny, but if you can't make them out then whats the point?

Ya everyone except the four countries who contribute the most money (UK, Germany, France and Spain I think) and the host have to compete in the semis to get into the final. 10 from each semi get through.

Nah they changed the rules this year so everyone is in the semi except the 'chosen four' and the hosts. I don't know why.

could be due to, it makes an extra show, 3 instead of two, hence more exposure, and more revenue from telephone voting

Interesting song,interesting lyrics,we had something like that 2 years ago where song was about all european cities but we didnt had chance to show it coz later we canceled participation,this is something similar but i am afraid europe wont understand it in way Ireland did,they will barely understand words and point of song so i think this song wont have much success,but i hope i am wrong

i think it's more to do with the fact there were to many songs having to be played on the one night and everyone becoming bored ****less. so they are trying to spread it out a bit more.
